“Good product (stair lift) very poor service.”

I purchased a Rave2 stair lift and was advised to contact the installer when the item arrived. I called the installer the day before the stair lift arrived and left a voice mail requesting he call. I left multiple messages to np avail. After 5 days and multiple calls to the installer and Ameriglide the installer sent me a message saying it would be 8 days before he could come out. When I contacted the installation company, the female I spoke with was very rude. She said there were no other installers on my area and I would have to wait for him to call and abruptly hung up. I had to contact someone on my own to get the stair lift installed before my wife was discharged from a rehab center. So far my calls to Ameriglide have not been answered. My itemized bill clearly states $599.00 for installation. Since I had to go with someone else, I'll see what they say about getting a refund for the installation.

I have been tracking others since I was stung hard ($8000 to complete by others) by them. They still will not call me back and has told their sales department to not answer any of my calls. Not that you reach anyone anyway. The true owner in their words is MIA and they have no way to contact him/her. To take advantage of us seniors knowing most will not put up a fight. Please read the countless bad reviews. There is a company out there (A USA Company) that will service our needs ten times better! Starts with a "B". I have unfortunately called 3 different 800 numbers to get my parents stairlift serviced, only to receive no call-backs, and after speaking with one individual, and calling back the next day to find out why I didn't get a call-back - they told me they had never heard of me, and didn't have any case notes. Nice... Product is generally reliable, but ameriglide service is the worst... don't count on them at all - if you can't repair this product yourself, then you are SOL.

After a long discussion with sales rep about my needs I ended up receiving wrong lift. I was charged for the lift I needed which was more expensive than the one I received. Long story short, I now own a lift which I can not install and the company has gone radio silent to my calls and emails for help. Again this was their mistake I clearly stated my needs and where it was to be installed. This is beyond infuriating.

After paying over $3,000 for repair, we still dont have any call backs from the company. No one is responding to voice mails- we get transferred around so many times its ridiculous. They took our money and stopped communicating with us.

Ordered 2 stairlifts, one was fine, the other was not. John Goss, the salesman was useless and rude. The only way to contact him was by email. No one answers the phone in the Raleigh office. Their customer service rep Marcia couldn't even be bothered to learn my name and was illiterate as well. No help

Finally got someone to help me but the installer from DelStal couldn't fix it. Been waiting on a part for over a month. Everyone gives me the run around and actually forget what they previously told me. Meanwhile I have been trapped in my house

Do yourself a favor: use a local company

Purchased an Ameriglide RAV2 Stairlift in May. Due to a shoddy cut rail and and misaligned screw holes, the installer was unable to to his job. Got a new rail a week later. Spent the next 2 months trying to get the unit installed. 5 no-shows by the installer (wasting time waiting). Many MANY phone calls trying to "work" with the company to complete the installment. Suggested I would like to return the unit for a refund and was threatened I would be charged a restocking fee. Finally filed a complaint with BBB and got results. They were given one more week to install the unit and failed. Product was boxed up and returned to Ameriglide for a full refund. It's shameful it took the BBB to get treated right.

On the flip side, I called 101 Mobility for a stairlift. Free consult and installation took less than 2 weeks. I couldn't be more pleased along with my 88 year old mother who has been climbing stairs for months.

Bait and switch purchase! PLEASE beware! My elderly mother spent a LOT of her savings to have an installed stairlift as she is no longer able to navigate the stairs. The company committed to installation but after the system was delivered, realized they have no technician in our area. Over 45 days later and they will not accept nor return the dozens of calls my family has made. We are left with 4500. 00 of garbage and they promise to help, but have completely abandoned my poor mother. She already has physical limitations and this experience has caused her extreme mental distress, too. Ameriglide's customer base is 100% elderly or disabled and the literally do NOT CARE about what they have done to my mother.

Tip for consumers:
Use another company. Honestly...they have given us NO alternative and NO assistance! They are a heartless company preying on the elderly

I am the Pastor at Verona Baptist Church and let me say first of all we have had nothing but problems with the lift that Ameriglide of Southport installed. The first problem was poor workmanship which had to be completely redone. Installed what appeared to be a used lift the first time and was damaged on the sides which they had to remove. Then without calling they send workers out on Sunday during church service to pour concrete at the church entrance. After the install another lift They have been called out 4 times for the lift not working. Lift has caused two people to be stuck in it we had to get out. Every time after it was down it took a week or two for them to respond. My last contact on 8-12-21 when I called to ask when they would be coming to repair I spoke to the owner and I honestly have never been so rudely talked to. This guy came unglued on the phone and I have witnesses that heard the conversation and after a couple of minutes of his screaming decided to record the rest of it. After replacing batteries already a couple of times he then begin to scream and said the problem was not his issue but something wrong in the electrical connection to it which I knew was a lie. Anyway he agreed to send someone out again and after replacing the batteries one more time they finally pulled the battery charger and it was rattling inside and was evident that was the problem the whole time. I will say the last guy Chris that came out was polite and apologized for the owners behavior. We will never do business with them again and I plan to call corporate office next.

The below issues follow much headache, frustration and anger during the previous 3+ months with AmeriGlide.

Dear Sir / Ma'am,

I am writing this letter as formal notification of mechanical issues and incorrect equipment provided with our recently installed "Curved Stair Lift." After much frustration and dissatisfaction with the overall experience with AmerGlide's customer service beginning in early January, the stairlift was finally installed on April 22 – April 23,2021, by your contractor Delstal. The following are technical/mechanical issues that we have experienced the same night of installation.

· Upon completing installation, the Delstal installer/technician, Jim Vandehey, tried using the two remote controls that were included with the unit. After much trouble shooting, Mr. Vandehey could not get either remote to work. He informed us that these were not the correct remote controls.

· Mr. Vandehey was not able to properly secure the frame/track to the tile floor where the docking/recharging station is located because there were no tile and/or cement screws included. Mr. Vandehey explained that this should have been noted and included with the original measurements. My concern is that the track is not firmly secured to the floor and will result in shifting of the unit while in use and potential injury.

· The chair sporadically works when trying to use it. The armrest will correctly read "Platinum," however, upon sitting and putting any weight on the chair, it changes to "Final Limit" thus making it inoperable. I was stuck upstairs for over an hour while my wife tried to troubleshoot. We called Mr. Vandehey and he advised removing the plastic protective plate used to safely cover the wires and electrical components located inside the seat. This did not work, and we had to move and readjust the wires until the armrest read "Platinum." This appears to be a design/manufacturing flaw and very obvious the unit does not work correctly.

· We were mailed a recall notice from AmeriGlide that included multiple screws and bolts with multiple pages of extremely technical instructions. Mr. Vandehey read the instructions and could not make sense of it himself.

These issues need to be addressed immediately. With my current and extensive medical disabilities, I do not feel comfortable for my safety with recall not being fixed and that I will get stranded either upstairs or downstairs for hours until someone can get me down. I expect a response back from AmeriGlide with further information regarding corrective actions. Photos have been taken and can be produced upon request.

Purchased a stair lift for my wonderful mother in law. Our salesperson Dane Stiler seemed nice and full payment was quickly deducted from our account and install date was set to be one week later. Well you know the story, the part didn't come, bla bla bla. Reached out to the local representative in North Carolina and they hung up on us twice as we tried to understand why our install date had not been met. Before they hung up the second time, they suggested that we work with the installer ourselves to reschedule. WHAT :) Keep in mind we had paid the $500+ for the install. He said we were being rude... but we reminded him we were the customer. That's when he hung up. So much for customer service. Sent Dane an email and then called twice but all we got were crickets. Can you hear them? Almost two weeks later, lift has not been installed. I am hopeful at the end of this tunnel there is light and not a freight train. Delays in parts and shipping does not bother us, but the attitude of the local NC shop was really an embarrassment to the AmeriGlide brand. The CIO of this company must either be asleep, or not reading the reviews,,,

19 days after ordering I finally received a defective unit. I had to replace a battery switch that was too short to reach the switch. The pinch bolts were too long and busted off the switch plate on the first run. The seat wobbled like a teeter totter because the shims were not supplied. I waited a week for replacement parts then returned the stair lift. It took one month to get a refund of 61% of my purchase price. They are very lackadaisical about returning calls or emails.

Ameriglide wanted a large deposit right away to "start work" on a custom stairlift that they said would be delivered in 6 weeks. I have them $2,500 the save day. More than 2 weeks went by and nothing happened, so I emailed and called to cancel and get a refund. Crickets. Nothing happened until I called and spoke with someone else. Then I got a call back starting they would "start the refund process". Waited over a week for that, then disputed with my bank. Still waiting. Called another company and they showed to take measurements the next day. Obviously there is a difference in companies when it comes to customer service.

Great sales team, but when they get your money its over. I am a General contractor and Electrical contractor it TN., I purchased an outdoor elevator for a customer and all seemed to be going fine I told them it was a rush order to make a deadline, the response was if you pay in full when you order we will make it happen and pay for install. I wanted to install myself and they told me that that would not work that if I installed the elevator it would not be warranted, later they told me this was not true. I paid the full amount of the elevator, plus the 4700. 00 install fee and all was set. I received a delivery date and was told it would be installed within a week of delivery, great if it would have happened that way.
The elevator shows up 2 weeks after promised date after many many calls to the salesman, and this is where it really gets good. I was told the install manager would be it touch to get it installed but never heard from him until I got the salesman to give me a contact number, so after a week goes by and I get in touch with him he gives me an install date of 2 weeks later, I am on a deadline. The day before the install date I call to make sure we are still on for the install and he does not know who I am. I call my salesman again and get a new install date and talk to the install manager again, now it gets even better. He tells me that I will have to supply him with labor and tools to get the job completed and that he will cover the cost, I'm on a deadline so lets get it completed.
Install manager shows up we get the elevator installed to make a long story short and I ask who to give a invoice to for time labor and tools and he told me to give it to the homeowners, I do have all of this documented. So after paying 4700. 00 for install Ameriglide sends one man out to oversee install and I'm screwed, but I see the install manager is not going to do what he said so I call my salesman again. The salesman told me he would put me in touch with the President of the company [ Jim]. And I get a text from Jim saying he would send me 500.00 to compensate me what a joke then he said he would up it to 1000. 00, witch was 1/2 of my invoice and I told him I would not agree to that and I would give him a bad review. So after 3 weeks of not hearing from Jim I texted him back for a status update and he told me that he would still give me 1000. 00 but if he did I would have to sign a agreement not to leave a bad review. Now remember has a invoice from me that he is refusing to pay and again this is all documented. I told him I would not sign and my invoice stands, and his response was to be carful what I posted as a review because he would have his attorneys look into it.
So bottom line I got threaded with attorneys, paid 4700. 00 for install that I did 80% of and did not get compensated for and it was not delivered or install on the promised date, and I still have an outstanding invoice with they, and I don't think it will be paid unless I take action against them

They refuse to support or service their products, they will pass you around through voicemails and promise callbacks, you will not get them. Our stairlift is 3 years old, will not move, the diagnostic screen hasn't worked since it was installed, we have had nothing but problems since purchase. Ameriglide LOVES to steal money (about $10,000 for us) from the disabled and elderly. BUY FROM ANYBODY ELSE!

Sadly, pihotis are also not an option here or I could show you the stack of boxes that have been piled in my house since mid October. Uninstalled, a total breach of contract, with nothing but hassle followed by zero communication from DelStal and Ameriglide.
They'll take your money, but not your calls...
I also wish I could show you a photo of the beautiful, American made stair lift that I had installed by Accessible Systems - 2 days from contacting them - we were riding upstairs!

Ameriglide is a fraudulent company!

Twice I have ordered batteries, for my 90 year old Mother-in-Law's stairlift! Twice they REFUSED to send the batteries!

When I call to ask why they REFUSE to send the batteries, they laugh and hang up!

I then called several of the "store locations" ans was told that Jeff Sheffer - CEO - AmeriGlide, Inc. treats them the same way too! They cannot get any parts from the Raleigh, NC location and have to depend on jury rigging to satisfy their customers! I was also told that BatteriesPlus can get these batteries, which I have done.

Jeff Sheffer - CEO - AmeriGlide, Inc. needs to have some people come to his home a teach him a lesson in customer service, and I know just the Battle Hardened U.S. Marines that would be more than happy to teach Mr. Sheffer this vitally important lesson! They are NOT happy about the way Mr. Sheffer has treated my 90 year old Mother-in-Law!

BOYCOTT Ameriglide! They have no Honor and cannot be trusted in any Way, Shape, nor Form!

We ordered a chair for my grandmother expecting it to be delivered In their 30 day window. While continuing to wait for the chair far after 30 days my grandmother was diagnosed with spleen, lung, liver, bone and pancreas cancer. She was given a week to live. While all of this was happening we realized we had just paid top notch for this chair that was already being delivered late. When we called the company and asked to cancel our order because of the circumnstances they claimed that it was too late and or chair would be delivered anyway because otherwise the company would "eat the cost." They had no sympathy and were unbelievably rude and inconsiderate. We now have a chair sitting in our garage because their "in home installation" which we payed extra for upon initial purchasing, is apparently just bringing it in the garage out of the potential rain... pathetic. Do not use this company.

I thought I researched this wheelchair lift quite thoroughly. Having a maintenance background for 30 years I felt confident in my Joyce. Little did I know once this company ameriglide get your money it's done. Starting from the shipping container was supposed to be small and handle by UPS. It had to be lit delivered by a truck and unloaded with a tow motor. Having measured it thoroughly I was convinced the measurements were accurate. We opted for their installer who they flew in. Really nice guy but I knew more about mechanics and electronics then he did. My father and I helped in the installation only to find out that the platform does not take a wide chair. The installer assured me we can return the platform for credit so we packed it up and ordered the other platform and paid another$1,500. So now we're in for $12,300 roughly the new platform came disassembled no return on the original platform. No offer of help in finishing installation so we packed it up to ship it back. Surprise! No returns. We have a $12,000 pile of pallets at my place of business total loss truly disappointed in this company stay away at all costs. Beware of the name Cameron.

Gave the company two stars in my first review. Company finally fixed issue (after a BBB complaint). Bottom line is that it was a cost effective solution.

Tip for consumers:
The company ultimately fixed my issue, but I didn't have a working stair climber for months. I'd do the same thing again, because I paid a thousand or two less than their competitors, I even had a local guy tell me he would have charged twice as much as the $5,000 I paid.
