Ugh I feel you.

Tell her about better alternatives (personally I like Khan Academy WAY better but obviously different people learn differently. Definitely try it out though if you can).

Sit her down and give her a walkthrough of what it's like to use Aleks. Show her the horrible explanations with complicated and misleading terminology and tell her about the fact that you can't even go back and see these horrible explanations after you click the "next" button. Show her how grueling it is to work through all of these problems only to have to relearn the topic because you made one tiny mistake once.

I said this in my review a while ago but I just think it's so wild that literally none of the testimonials that I could find on the Aleks website were from actual students. Point that out to her as well.

Anyway, the idea here is to show her better alternatives. You can't get her to stop letting you use Aleks if you don't give her something better. If you don't have any alternatives on your mind, look around for some. Maybe Khan Academy doesn't work out for you, maybe a textbook won't either. There are still tons of options out there!

If nothing else works and she still won't budge, you can always try using something you like alongside Aleks. When I was required to use Aleks, I would watch a Khan Academy video on whatever topic that I was learning in Aleks and it was WAY easier to understand most of the time.
