Hello to my Fellow Bidders!
If you are new to this, I'd like to share some information about penny/nickel auctions. The first week I got into these auctions, I didn't do ANY of the things listed below ...which might have prevented some of the pitfalls I landed in.

1. Read the reviews on any website before trusting your money to it! Watch for several days. Read any hints, strategies, guides which the site itself has.

2. If you don't want to feel scammed, bid ONLY on the auction sites which OFFER the losing bidders the Buy-It-Now option. If you lose, you can choose to take the retail price, subtract the cost of bids used, add shipping, and NOT have to leave the auction with nothing!

3. Bid only on an item which you would like to buy anyway. These auction sites are for making the owners money, not the bidders! So, don't think you can beat their system routinely and make money selling the items you "win". You will get a good deal sometimes, a great deal once-in-a-while, but more often than not, the Buy It Now (if you stick to those auctions.)

4. Remember, everyone is trying to get a good deal, so don't let EGO make you bid more than you should. You're not likely to ever meet the other bidders; so don't get upset if JoefromCocomo keeps raising you!

5. Set yourself a weekly or monthly limit on how much you can spend. (Unlike ME...who ran up several $1000s in the first MONTH...got some neat things, just didn't really NEED three Kindles though!

6. You can find auction sites which sell bids from $ .60 to $1.00 each. Some have discounts for larger packages of bids; some don't. LOOK closely at the bid costs and the retail value the site places on their items for sale. (I have seen the Kindle DX at $489 on one site and $579 on another.)

Hope this helps! Have fun, but DON'T get addicted! If you can't leave it alone, get help!

ATTENTION! Michael is trying to sell his scam past.

Now seems this dirty scammer Michael Pennington wants to sell his site so that no client would chase him.

http://flippa.com/auctions/82000/Leading-Dating-Software-Provider

"Will do 30 day knowledge transfer. Will show you the ins and outs of the online dating business as well as dating software business.

Please contact us for more stats and proof of income. No reasonable offer will be refused. Contact me at 503-935-7461"

Ins and outs? You want to tell people how to scam from Thailand?

I think there is no proof of income at all, just a negative karma all over the web. No clients, no income, nothing. And a wish to get rid of all the poor people who got involved in this. If you are a client of Michael Pennington, try to get a refund as soon as possible. He is selling you together with his crappy software.

Nice try Michael. Happy sales to you. This is a good example of how angry clients can easily put an end to a scam business. Next one you give a try think about it.

Sincerely yours,
Your client.

After getting ripped off buying fake uggs that didn't even look close to the real thing I found SiteJabber. I also discovered I wasn't alone in getting scammed online. Literally tens of thousands of people here on sitejabber have read reviews on fake ugg websites. We all know and love our Uggs and none of us want to pay full retail at the department stores so we search for that perfect pair of uggs on the cheap. Below is a list of a few websites I have found both good and bad. If you have a website you want to buy uggs from check the following link and see if it is on the "approved" list by the UGG company itself

The internet is a vast place and it seems like everyone is trying to make a website and get rich quick these days. Here on Sitejabber I have seen a great deal of websites that have stirred up the wrath of many people who felt they got scammed or ripped off. I think some of the most valuable lessons I have learned was from the "mistakes" of others and thought it would be useful to make a list of these sites.

1) Define the website goals and list the features you need on the website
2) Decide flash or static
3) Google for photography website, photographer website, photo website software, photo website cms
4) Choose some solutions to compare or just use http://cmsreport.com/content/2009/10/flash-photo-cms-what-choose Compare features, hosting options and cost. User-friendly admin area is vital. Do not choose XML template just because you like the design, keep in mind you'll have to load load tons of photos and add them daily!
5) Search for reviews. Pay attention to support, delivery time and overall customer satisfaction.
6) Make the list, choose the best!
7) Submit for a trial.
8) Go to www.readyphotosite.com and order your website :)

As a physician I have often been asked about the best resources on the internet to learn more about the H1N1 flu and the treatments for it. The H1N1 pandemic has been covered extensively in the news and I created this guide to help consumers find more information about the various forms of treatment and prevention. The sites below are sites that I trust as a physician and all have valuable information. Consumers should be aware that there are many websites that claim to have H1N1 information and then try to "sell" consumers on possibly fake treatments of the H1N1 flu. Always consult with your family doctor for questions regarding the H1N1 swine flu.

Careful!
(A) Check the return policy. When your purchase arrives, if it's not right, you want to know you can return - no hassle.

(B) Check SHIPPING CHARGES. Some stores price an item down, and shipping charges way UP. Keep an eye out.

(C) Never shop online with a DEBIT-CARD. When you do funds are withdrawn from your bank. Use a CREDIT CARD, and one you know is "consumer-oriented" in disputes.

(D)You've shopped 'price' and have your prize, but get the "best" price. If you found the right mp3 player on Amazon, there are web sites offering daily money-saving deals with "COUPON CODEs". Check "coupons.com".

(E) If you're uncertain of a businesses integrity, plug the name into "RipOffReport.com". This is a first place disgruntled consumers heaven. Check a business' reputation there.

Now...My Top Five Favorite Places To Shop Online.

(1) Amazon.com. Fine selection, a good return policy, the stores you do business with via Amazon have interest in your ratings & try to please. Amazon directly is: 800-201-7575.

(2) Zappos.com. Their prices are good, they offer a "365 day return policy, they are courteous beyond belief, fast ship, and they 'rarely' disappoint.

(3) eBay.com remains. Trick is search under "BUY-IT-NOW" tabs, compare prices with other stores, and be VERY careful of absurd 'shipping rates'.

(4) For electronics, fun, and general "geekery" try "x-tremegeeks.com". Mobile phone accessories, Tee-Shirts, gadgets galore, good with returns, shipping, pricing, and excellent customer service. Need a tee-shirt that sports the correct time in bright LEDs?

(5) Shoebuy.com. I asked my wife (an Uber-online shopper), who she recommends. Apparently, they have a great selection (women, men, children), great return policy, and FREE SHIPPING. For foot gear I'd check shoebuy.com out!

ALSO: Costco.com, Target.com, hammacherschlemmer.com, AND..."any other store that meets the 'buyer-beware' requirements I mentioned A-E
