We book a planned trip to Las Vegas, 3 months prior to travel date, and we purchase the travel insurance to avoid possible issues. My mom pass away a month prior to our trip and we cancel the trip, and our nightmare was just beginning not to loose the money we paid. After filling the insurance claim, sent with mom's death certificate, and after 2 months waiting for a credit or my money back, this is the outcome: my mom's death does not qualify for insurance cover because she pass away out of the covered area (absurd) and a partial credit with American Airlines to be use within 1 year period.
We decide to use the credit to visit family and for my surprise, the credit available was reduce, and $200.00 per person penalty was subtracted from us. I do have both emails with different policies same booking and I'll dispute, I wish then out of business. The insurance is to protect their monkey business, preventing customers to dispute charges with credit cards, you can't dispute with your credit card a denied insurance claim.
Now I have both emails, and I'll dispute showing they change the story, not sure I'll get it. Feels like rip-off. (THERE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL, I WON! THANKS TO THE CREDIT CARD WHO FOUGHT FOR MY RIGHT.)
