My family, friends and I have been purchasing from Groupon for a while now. For the most part I've had good experiences. However, my recent purchase was the worse experience I've ever had. I have tried resolving the issue with the vendor directly two different times but that has been unsuccessful. June 28th I purchased 3 basic skydiving tickets as an 18th birthday gift for my daughter. She was to skydive with a family member who was coming in from Texas and another who postponed their trip to India just to jump with my daughter. I called to reservation our spots in which I had to pay an additional $9 per person to secure our reservation. During my phone call they tried to pressure me into upgrading my package which I declined because it was a lot more costly. In the end our reservation was made for September 19,2015, we received a call from the company 3 days prior stating they had plane maintenance scheduled for that exact date and they cancelled our reservation. I was upset but worked with them to get our reservation rescheduled. Our second attempt was reserved for October 2,2015. Yesterday, September 29,2015, I received a text from the company stating they were cancelling my reservation for the second time due to plane maintenance. I became upset and I called the company pretending to be another customer interested in purchasing tickets for an anniversary. They upsold me and I accepted and they even said they could schedule me for this very same weekend. At that point I advised the person on the other line that they had just cancelled my reservation stating they had plane maintenance for this weekend. I am irate. I want my money back, all of my money back including the additional reservation fees I had to pay. This doesn't just affect my daughter, it affects our family member who was traveling as well as another friend who postponed prior arrangements. I'm partially upset at Groupon as well because I feel you should be screening the companies you endorse. Is this normal for the company to cancel and pretend they have maintenance scheduled? Are they discriminating against me or do they do this to every person who declines their VIP package? I've tried reasoning with Tandem Skydiving and I have spoken several times to Jason and Autumn. They mentioned they could schedule me for the end of October, which at this point I don't trust the company nor do I want to do business with them anymore. I've requested a full refund in which they are holding my additional $27 hostage stating it's non refundable however THEY are the ones who continue to cancel my reservation. Groupon should discontinue the partnership with this business.
