The entire concept of Car Shield is a rip off! I suggest you all READ THE CONTRACT THOROUGHLY before paying (regardless of plan).

After thoroughly reviewing the contract, I now understand how it works. You (essentially) pay them a monthly fee. You need to wait 30 days (after sign up) to have any repairs (which is okay with me).

Here's the kicker. You pay $100 for the mechanic, but you HAVE to get authorization prior to repairs. (Which means if you need a repair, you might need 3 TOWS from mechanic, to home, and back to mechanic; Car Shield needs to gives the okay FIRST and they're not opened on the weekends. This means if something happens, assuming it wasn't due to neglect, you have to have a mechanic diagnose BEFORE CarShield will pay.)

Majority of the MAJOR mechanical work is ONLY covered if it's in the way of the part that needs repair. And that's ONLY if it meets lubrication. This means things like ELECTRICAL TRANSMISSION WORK is not included. These are the kind of repairs that we need.

When you call to cancel, ITS A NIGHTMARE! Bless their hearts with their attempts at retention, but it gets to a point, you have to resist the temptation to be rude.

This is my 2nd time having to call CarShield to cancel (1st account was mom's), and BOTH TIMES I'd have to constantly repeat "I just want to cancel." Add this to the fact the agreement was for $109 and they were attempting to AUTO DEBIT the FIRST TRANSACTION (on 1st attempt) $114.

With these practices, I suggest you all find elsewhere. I wanted insurance for my vehicle as a safety net (in case I'm ever lazy). Guess I will use the money Id waste to CarShield and do it myself!

All these 5 star reviews are BOGUS! Please be warned EASY AUTO SHIP WILL COST YOU MONEY! Please don't be lazy and read this review. It'll LITERALLY save you money!

Brokers are NOT responsible for on-time pickup. This means they are JUST the middle man that pairs you with an actual driver. They make a small profit from linking u two together. That's it. Period.

With that said, our car arrived from Honolulu to Cali on the 12th. I literally was checking the tracking number HOURLY from Pasha, so I could alert Easy Auto Ship as soon as possible. Keep in mind they'll hold your car for 1 week. After that, the fee is $50 per day.

I contact my rep immediately and alert them the car will be ready for pickup in 2 days. The same day, I sent the Bill of Landings that shows THE VEHICLE IS INOPERABLE.

12/20 rolls around and Easy Auto Ship is JUST NOW finding a carrier. He gets to the car (on 12/28) and can't crank it (the battery needed a jump). We didn't find this out until the carrier already canceled the order.

1/03, they finally find a driver. I get an email to call him b/c he needs help with our order. Give him a call, and the guy acts totally clueless like he didn't know what we were talking about. He then mentions a $285 storage fee. I try to clarify if it's from RoadOne. He tells me he'll call me back.

Hours later, still no response. Keep in mind we have now lost our pickup date for Friday. Road One isn't opened on the weekend, so that's 2 days of charges simply b/c the driver did not call us back.

I finally reach out to my rep (Monday) who tells me the driver needs me to pay all storage fees before he'll pickup. I call Road One and find out the storage fees are $485. Naturally, I'm extremely angry at this point because Easy Auto Ship has been on notification since NOVEMBER 15TH! I reach out to my rep who basically tells me I'm SOL because of the holidays made it difficult to find a driver, and they only made $50 from the sale

If we hadn't driven that car in over a year, I would have saved myself a ton of tears, headache, and money by doing the drive from Cali to ATL without help from these companies! Easy Auto Ship LITERALLY costed us $500 because they did not hold up their end of the bargain and find a carrier within a decent time frame. So I'm other words BROKERS ARE A WASTE OF MONEY AND A USELESS SERVICE. To be told you only made a small portion of the sale is insulting. Especially when this company was notified LITERALLY 10 minutes after the car arrived in Cali.

Not only will I NEVER do business with this company again, i will make sure ANY vehicle we own is transported by us and only us. Easy Auto Ship screwed us over badly on this. They will NEVER in a million years get a recommendation outta me!

Be smart and use this link (safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/query.asp) to find an actual CARRIER. Then, coordinate pickup. If they don't provide their UsDot or MC number, you'll likely run into the MANY issues fooling with a broker!

I've had an account with AMI for YEARS. My mom was the one who introduced me to the site. In all the years I've been shopping with them, I noticed they ALWAYS have a 50-52% off sale. I had a really bad experience with them almost 2 years ago (which is the order number I associated with this post), so today was my first time trying to give them another chance. I only considered this b/c I had requested to get an email when this pair of boots that I wanted was in stock. I got the email a few days ago.

So I ended up adding the boots to my cart and started shopping for other things. Let me explain why this is such a ripoff;

They allow you to either use the 50% off coupon, or, free shipping over $50, but you can't have both. The "50%" off leads you to think you are saving money, but in reality, that's the retail price in the first place. So in other words, you use a worthless coupon, and disqualify yourself for free shipping.

Anyway, I tried to use the free shipping code, and guess what? I can't do so because some of the items are clearance. So I used the 50% off code (which means all shoes are "50% off," but you'll be charged shipping for EACH item in your cart (calculated by weight). Why on earth did my order come out to $120, while shipping (for 3 dresses, 1 top, and 4 shoes) is $100?! Smh. My days of shopping on this website are over. I cleared my cart and will be requesting they close my account. I am so over AMI!
