I'm so happy BikesDirect exists! Having bicycle shop experience lets me buy at a much reduced price, and get a great value.
Note: anyone buying a bike-in-a-box should know that it should be PROPERLY ASSEMBLED by a professional. NO-BIKE is properly adjusted at the factory, not even $500-$700-Treks/Giants/Specialized ETC... It takes skill & special tools for the hub bearings alone. It's worth the extra~$50-$75 to have it assembled Properly. The first thing to check after [or at any LBS], is the fr. & rear hub bearings, if they grind at-all, WAY too tight, especially on quick-release wheels, due-to closing the skewer, actually makes the adjustment tighter, which causes bearing/race/cup damage. If you watch a video on assembly, and they don't include r. Hub adj.[including removal of the freewheel/cassette to get that-sides locknut], trueing wheels, toeing brake pads. Removing & cleaning of crank-arms & spindle, or suggests an assembly should only take 45-60 minutes IS NOT WORTH WATCHING!
Thank You BikesDirect for allowing folks to puchase superior products at very-reasonable prices.
