Newegg is my Amazon when it comes to electronics. What makes it so great? The entire experience. Their products are well categorized and easy to find, the filters you can perform on those products to narrow down your search are excellent, the reviews help you understand what to expect out of said product, and the actual delivery to your door is quick and trustworthy.

I have had issues with computer parts in the past (it happens to all of us) and newegg is always very quick to resolve those issues by either issuing a refund or a replacement unlike some other websites that merely direct you to the manufacturer who may or may not be any help. A retailer is a middle-man who purchases products from a manufacturer and delivers them to a customer with their reputation on the line. A consumer should not ever have to deal with a manufacturer. These are things newegg does extrememly well.

Its not fair to fault an electronics website for occasionally delivering a faulty product. Not to mention even in that rare circumstance, newegg is always quick to satisify its customers.

I love this website, and I love using it even more.

Gmail is simple, its easy to use and best of all it has the most advanced spam filters in the market. By that I don't mean that it doesn't only do a good job at removing spam, but it also is nearly flawless and letting email through to the inbox that may otherwise be categorized as spam on other email services.

For instance, in my business I am often needing to email customers with quick little attachments such as pdf's for review and a quick response. When I see the customer has a gmail associated email address I don't have to worry. On the contrary, when I see a customer has a hotmail address... I almost always have to call and tell them to please check their spam folder and most likely my message is in there. I'm not a spammer, i'm sending an email that the customer requested and needs to view, i'm not sending to more than one person at a time, and its not advertising related so it makes no sense that my email should end up in spam. Again, with Gmail this is never something I have to worry about.

Great product, great interface, and free (well... advertising funded which they don't abuse). I don't need to tell you to check it out, because chances are you have and feel the same way I do.

I'll be honest, my unsatisfactory experience is my own fault. When reviewing websites to purchase a database with the entire collection of U.S. businesses I should have let the cost compared to other companies sway me in the direction of the others, but hey we all make that mistake first.

The business delivers as promised. You pay a flat rate and they email a download link where you get the file with the listings. I had contact the business owner prior and he explained that the listings are raw data listings and will not have phone book accuracy. To be expected, no one can really offer that amount of accuracy. I expected to have to do quite a bit of manual data checking and verification on the data as well as even add the occasional missing listing.

My use case was to populate a website with business listings in specific categories. This seemed to be a good and affordable solution to get that off the ground. What I didn't expect was the extreme lack of business listings. Its true that the dataset is very large (over 20 million records as advertised), but upon some basic querying of the data I found that I could not find even the most basic listings in my own region that I know for a fact exist. For example, when searching for salons in a specific zip that I know very well the database would turn up 1 out of at least 10 that I could recall off the back of my head. Searching those missing listings by name turned up nothing as well which leads me to believe they simply aren't in the database. This is just one example of many as I spent hours trying to convince myself the database would work for my needs, but it didn't. After requesting a refund I was denied because I had already downloaded the product. I can't really fault them for that, it makes sense. But a quality product should have very few people wanting to have their money refunded and if I was just one unhappy customer out of thousands of satisfied customers, refunding should not have been an issue.

I gave this business two stars because they are not fraudulent, they do not claim to have every business listing, and the cost is quite low. That being said, its buyer beware and if you're looking for an accurate set of listings, you may want to consider elsewhere as this was not the case for me. Keep in mind I was attempting to segregate the database into smaller, more niche categories such as salons, spas, dentists, doctors etc. Maybe for larger businesses its a lot more accurate (i'm willing to guess that it is) but for what I needed the data for, it would have been easier to google each state and manually enter the data into a database myself.
