This is my update to the last review: I got all of my money refunded that Quibids charged me without making me aware. It took five emails to Quibid and one phone call to Citibank and cancellation of my credit card used for the transaction.

This site is a gambling site. STAY AWAY! You see all those people in Las Vegas with glazed eyes pulling the lever of the slot machines? Quibid is exactly that and the real winner is the whoever heck started Quibids. They must be laughing all the way to bank using the oldest book on the trick. The saying there is a sucker born every second! In this case every nanosecond! This site exemplifies it.

My experience; I spent $27 dollars to bid on an IPAD that they say went for $16+ really went for somewhere in the vicinity of $270.00. They do not really advertise that though. In their news clips they emphasize 16 cents ipad and so forth. So I spent $27 to bid on an ipad that was not to be. Multiply $27 with the number of people bidding on this globally. They say the average number of bidders is 88.8 people on a 500-1000 priced items. They just made $2400 on an IPAD on one auction! That is if they all spent $27. I am sure there are people who spent way more than that. 60 cents per click folks. Like I said you have better chance winning the lottery!

They insist that they have warned me they will charge $60 to join and it will cost $. 60 for every click. I say BS. Oh that information is embedded in their website so they could call this legal. But their tactic is fraudulent through and through. Shame on the news media for pushing this on the unsuspecting consumers.

Like I am writing this on this site. Warn anyone who you care about via social media. For every tweet QUIBIDS make out there via paid twitters, facebookers, what have you, you the actual people need to tweet that this site is to be avoided at all cost.

Blake B. – QuiBids Rep

Hi Meehyun. We strongly encourage every new bidder to read the helpful information on QuiBids 101, the Help Section, and even the FAQ sections of our site. This will help new customers better understand how our website operates so they are better set up for success with us. Of course, you do not have to read the information if you feel you know how our Penny Auction model works - but that's taking a risk and we don't encourage jumping in like that.

With that said, we appreciate that you took the time to check us out and leave this review. We are sorry that you are unhappy with your experience with us. Please contact us at support@quibids.com and we'll be happy to refund the unused bids in your account. Thanks!

  • Netflix

6/12/15

All I will say about Netflix is that they have plenty of movies for everyone's taste and it really is a great value for steaming and dvd rentals. Also it help those people who have consistently paid overdue rental fees. Overall great business model that they make money and customers are happy.

  • Groupon

6/12/15

I would say most of the Groupon discounts are a deal. SOme are not, if you can find it elsewhere for the same price, even though Groupon make it seem you are getting better value than it really is. I found most of the restaurants are good value, some are again, the real value would not have been justified for what you get in service, food quality etc.

In fact the best thing about Groupon is really for the vendors. They get to market their product and customers get to try them for discounted (try out pass) for their services.

I would like them to succeed because it is great win win for everyone.

  • LivingSocial

6/12/15

Living Social is almost as good as Groupon. I have not tried their customer service yet so this star rating could go up or down depending on that. But great to have them around.

  • Vistaprint

6/12/15

Fully recommend them for your printing needs. Just remember what their lead time is so you have enough time to order. Great products and services.

  • Apple

6/12/15

I think enough said there. Now love Apple brand, product, innovation etc. etc. Etc.
I did have one lemom destop few years back and Apple was kind of pain in the A@@ about it. They eventually replaced the computer but it took a lot of persistence on my part.
I love apple and I am usually an early adopter on their product. They know what they are doing. They though got so big hopefully they need to be little cognizant of their border line arrogant attitude.

  • Costco

6/12/15

Costco is great for big families, big group, businesses etc.

I've been a Costco member for I do not even know when. I only had one issue with returning a HP color printer, which is a review of HP in itself later. They handled this return so poorly but I looked other way because they are great with many many other things.

I do not know why you wound Not be a member. It pays for itself in membership.

The only thing I can think of the negative is you waste a lot of food because of their huge portions. But that is only a problem for a small family or single user. For them, Smart and Final and other discounted grocer may suit better.

I go to Costco for their return customer service. I say they are some unscrupulous customers who return stuff that they should not. Because it is unethical and just plain theft to use something and return it after. I wonder how much we the good consumers pay for that practice. But I am sure Costco is making money and I am glad they are an option where I can shop.

  • Amazon

6/12/15

They are y go to place for nearly everything that I do not buy at Costco. Enough said.

  • Target

6/12/15

I love this Big Box store. They are Gap of the Big Box stores. Have great stuff for everyone. It also values good design for the mass market.

I would shop here in a heart beat. I cannot say the same about Walmart... And I do not own any stakes on any of these companies.

  • Zappos

6/12/15

Not the best overall price but has free returns. For someone who shops primarily online, that is important.
They do have good sales so overall a great site. I always check them and Amazon when I need shoes.

Gap
  • Gap

6/12/15

I think Gap lost its luster and they are trying so hard to follow trends. They should stick with the basics and do it well and streamline so they can sell more stuff at reasonable price. Their sales are great though... I prefer to get stuff regular price than waiting for sales. But you cannot beat cuteness of GapKids, Atheleta and Banana Republic.

  • Nolo

6/12/15

I think Nolo press is the best place to start for any legal dealing. I wrote my patent using Nolo Press and went to a Patent Lawyer to review and file it. It worked out!

I have unfortunately have gone through numerous real life lawyers who turned out to be absolutely awful. The last lawyer who I happened to respect and grateful for meeting told me 90% of lawyers out there do not know what they are doing. SO what value Nolo will bring is educating yourself first so that you are versed in what you are trying to deal with in legal arena. Questions to ask, what to watch out for... Nolo definitely does not replace a real human lawyer, but for basic things like incorporating, landlord tenant issues, etc. It is a great resource.

However, if you are going to litigation, still read and research as much as possible before you start interviewing lawyers. And you better have your intuition antenna out in full force when you do research and interview lawyers. Also do not trust a lot of rating system for lawyers unless they are negative. I have learned a painful way that you really need to read reviews on anyone/site before start engaging. Have in mind that some people are just plain negative which you can disregard, but you can ascertain the trend from site like this one!

You will save a lot of aggravation, money,

  • Yelp

6/12/15

The best part of yelp is you are in the middle of town you do not know and you want a quick food stop, I use this site. BUt I am careful about reading through the reviews and read between the line. I think there is a lot of paid reviews on this site. That just skews the rating a bit.

I hardly ever rate here but Yelp placed my review once on an not accessful part of reviews. It was a restaurant that I had absolute horrible service and incident, Which prompted me to go and review in the first place. But I will not review anyting that is 3 or 2 unless the vendor site badgers me to review.
I go and review 5 stars and 1 stars usually.

Again Yelp lost its powerful go to site status by making me wonder about their reviews from my first hand experience and just the reviews that seem less than authentic.

  • Macy's

6/12/15

I have never been happy with Macys. People who worked there do not want to work there. They are unionized and some think they just need to show up and work 2 hours out of 8 and that is OK. I was a Xmas wrapper there once. Yikes.
After the internet sales start to climb I have not shop there. But every time I go in I wonder why I even came in to shop there in the first place!
I still love Thanksgiving Parade and all the old timers and old people still shop here so I want them to survive. But they really need a new brand make over fast!

  • MyPublisher

2/17/15

First the good. Mypublisher use to be an excellent way to publish one off books at a reasonable cost. The Ugly... and it is bad. Their software is little to be desired with mind of its own. Read other reviews on this. The last draw-- for me this is a deal breaker: their customer service is abysmal,@#$!, you put the adjectives... They say they will help you and call you back, it is a lie. They never called me back to my repeated request to do so both on the phone and their email. I even sent an email to their so called customer relations director. No response, NADA. They send you an email that they will respond, but that is it. Their quality of books went way down and if you want to get your photobook on time for anything, do it months in advance and do not believe their timeline or lead time for anything. Basically they are unreliable. So I stopped using them. Also it prompted me to search for other photobook maker out there. Next time I will use others. And next time, if people can do reviews on other photobook maker, I will google the company for their service record, prior to spending my hard earned money! BTW always google the company service record prior to buying services. If I did with MYpublisher, I would not have bought the last book I did with them. They have whopping 1 star service record in many of review sites...

I love both the brick and mortar store and the online shopping. What a great place to shop in one place for anything you can ask for in beauty products. Also the ladies are super nice in helping you pick out colors. So far they have been super. Fast shipping also.

  • Amazon Prime

I buy everything that I can buy from Amazon prime. But then again, I absolutely hate shopping where I cannot find parking and have to deal with slow or worse, rude sales people.

  • Bluefly

1/9/15

I have to say so far my experience with the bluefly has been positive. It also has really good discounts on brand names. I even bought a vera wang dress which turned out to be a bargain. For example stuff on Prada may not be the best prices but they do go on sales and it is better than the outlet prices. Also you do not have to drive to the outlets!

I've read other review about the cashmere having holes. Unfortunately my cashmere whether bought from other retailers have holes! It is just the nature of having wool, cashmere which bugs love to eat.

  • Meaningful Beauty

1/9/15

I am usually not the one to buy stuff over TV but I decided to give it a try on meaningful beauty. First the product is not what it is purported to be. So I did not continue and cancelled my membership. Well it turns out you have to send your first shipment back or you will be charged the full non-membership amount. So what you think, you are getting for in X amount really is three times that. So I ended up paying close to $160 for that first shipment with all the bonus I never used, is really not what they say it is( $49). BTW I even verified the first offer is $49 with the order taker but they will tell you anything for you to sign up.

So the moral of the story is, first avoid getting yourself into the trap in the first place. Secondly, if you do not like the product, be sure to send it back within the money back period. What you bought really is not the price you paid for. It is three times the price they claim they sell it at.

  • Fabletics

1/9/15

I was foolish enough to sign on and they at the check out tells you that you will be receiving a shipment periodically and get charged for it. I quickly asked the Customer Service to get me off the site and scrub my information. They said they cannot do so. All this site is just to get you hooked, sell stuff to you you do not want, and get your information and sell it. I am not happy about this. People should tell everyone not to even sign up for any deals with any sites until you know what you are getting into.

Tip for consumers:
Do not give them your email address. this is a data mining site.
