This review is for the Polynesian Resort Timeshare in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. I entered a 'drawing' for 2 'Free' airline tickets. When contacted that I had 'won' the free tickets I was overjoyed. There was a requirement that I attend a presentation on a timeshare. I registered for a visit and was assured the tickets were for anywhere in the world and I would only be required to pay the taxes. Following the presentation I declined the option to purchase and was directed to the registration desk for my 'Free Voucher'. Surprisingly enough, they were out but would send them to me. After several weeks, I contacted the Sales Manager, Michael Elleson, and was informed they would be in shortly. My second call several days later revealed the vouchers were in and I should receive mine in a couple of days, which I did. Now for the ultimate scam. In order to receive the 'free' tickets, I was required to stay in a very high priced hotel. The cost of the hotel was significantly greater than the value of tickets and a moderately priced hotel. Once the cost of the hotel stay was prepaid, I would receive the plane tickets. Next, their version of anywhere in the world is severely limited to Paris/London/Rome in Europe, nothing on the Pacific Rim, nothing for South America, nothing for the South Pacific, nothing for Scandinavia and so on. I contacted the Polynesian Resort in Wisconsin Dells and was told the problem was with the marketing firm they had hired. I contacted the marketing firm and was told the tapes of our conversation had been written over and there was no way to confirm my claim. They did agree to contact Crowne Resorts and see what could be done. Wisconsin has a law that requires marketing firms to keep taped conversation for two years, which they clearly violated. Hearing nothing, I again called the marketing firm and left numerous messages, none of which were returned. It now appears that my number has been blocked and I get nothing when I call. Bottom line, Crowne Resorts are dishonest and unscrupulous to say the very least. The Sales Manager, Michael Elleson, is a con artist at best and anything he says is to be considered a lie until proven otherwise.
