Service providers like Time Warner share a lot of pros and cons. Great in some areas of the country, terrible in others. You may have good people to handle your order and major idiots in the field or vice versa. I updated to Time Warner Cable's High Speed Broadband. The installer tested the completed upgrade on Time Warner's test site and it indicated the specified speed. Over the next several days, I saw no improvement with double the cost. I called customer service. Their representative was very helpful and understanding. He explained that the only real advantage would be for online gaming, due to the huge bandwidth draw. I had a special modem and it would have to be removed to drop back the service. I agreed and a field person did the changeover and gave me some tips and tricks to improve my efficiency. I did what he recommended and saw a huge speed improvement. My monthly fee was reduced from $99/mo to $45/mo which included the monthly fee for an added Wi-Fi modem. No service fees were applied for any of the visits or work performed.
I recently changed my phone over from AT&T to TimeWarner as well. Reasons being, excellent service experience with Internet and major issues with a long distance service from USBI (search and read review on these guys).
Maybe I'm one of the few lucky ones, but I'm very happy with Time Warner Cable. I know that in my area, Milwaukee, WI, Time Warner Cable has vastly improved over the past several years. Telephone waits are minimal and their people have all been great to deal with.

Okay, I placed an order on this site before discovering sitejabber. My experience has been less than top shelf, but the results have not been a disaster. There appears to be only one person who provides help with orders and customer service. I believe this person is overwhelmed by inadequate experience and very poor inventory control. It took over a week just to get an acknowledgment of my order. No timing was provided on shipping. I had just discovered Sitejabber where I checked out kitchenniche and got nervous. I emailed their customer service address and very politely asked for timing on this order. One week later, I got an answer saying it was processed and would ship as soon as it became available. Another email came one week after that and said the shipment would arrive in 7-10 days. I wrote back and thanked her for the update. 10 days took me up to last Friday with nothing yet, so I waited until Monday with intentions of another email query. Most of my order arrived that same morning with a note apologizing for 1 out of the 5 items ordered being out of stock and that it would ship as soon as it came in.
So, this is not a scam site and they are not entirely bad. The pricing and products I received were fine. You just need to be very patient and understand that this is the process.
Can you do better elsewhere? Absolutely!
Long Distance 10-10 calling scam. Search USBI and you will find many, many postings on what this company has been pulling. I searched the net for low rate long distance services and these guys came in the lowest. I called them and got the activation number which was 10-10-555. Turns out USBI does not provide long distance and just lets whatever provider do the call. My phone bill indicated that they used MCI and I was charged roughly $10/minute to Germany and $2/minute to Texas.. Lucky for me I only made three very short calls, but my long distance cost was $51. Don't use any no-name providers and don't use any 10-10 prefixes for calls. I consider myself lucky that I got off this cheap. AT&T is no help on this either. They tell you to cancel the service through USBI and those guys can't be reached. I've just dropped AT&T and switched over to Time/Warner land line service. $19.95/mo for unlimited calling in North America and 10 cents/min to Europe. Bottom line: DO NOT USE 10-10 low rate phone prefixes......
Coral Player is a scam, but not a virus. Basically the maker's create fake torrents - usually new release or popular movies. They claim to be avi files of the movie, and usually ~ 700mb or so.
However when you get the movie, all it is, is a trailer and tells you to go download coral player. If you fall for it, it asks you to pay a small fee to use coral player but you gotta give them your credit card #, which they then charge a monthly fee ( ~ $30 USD) BUT you never get any player to download, AND the file that claims you need Coral Player to play it, isn't even a movie file at all - it's just a trailer with Coral Player ad.
They 'pad out' the file to make it roughly the size of a legitimate movie, so people will download it, I mean after all, if you saw a "movie" that was only 1.5mb would you fall for it and download it?
In short, a complete scam - if you get one of these files just delete it - anything that asks you to download a "special" movie player to play it, is a SCAM.
Who needs local garbage newspapers? I have bought and sold on craigslist.org many, many times. Even if I'm not buying or selling, I find it very entertaining just looking at what's out there. I love motorcycles and check the ads everyday to see other peoples toys. The only note of caution is to limit your level of trust when doing a deal. This site gives lots of tips and warnings on this. Usually, people who actually call tend to be sincere and on the level. The ones who just respond with emails are more suspicious, especially if they say they're from out of town or being a middleman for someone else. Overall this site is invaluable.
Use this site all the time. Great for food or drinks and very quick. Other positives include reader reviews with suggestions for tweaking recipes and pictures of finished recipes. Love this site.
Ordered a large paper Giclee print for $45 of an Italian landscape. We got an estimate from Michael's (chain store) for matting and framing with a 50% off coupon. Total was $550 after the discount. Crazy! Besides that, we didn't like the color of the print when it arrived and noticed the paper was very chintsy and full of ripples which would show up under glass in a frame. Returned the print for full refund (no questions asked) and ordered three large stretched canvas Monet's for $140 each. Love these prints. The build quality is first rate and the prints look great on our wall. The canvases are stretched around a very sturdy wood frame and stapled on the back side. The edges are painted black. The hanging hardware is double braided steel wire. Shipping was free and the order was expedited in about one week (very prompt). So, three beautiful large Monet canvas reproductions were less than the framing job for one cheap print. What a bargain. Stay away from Michael's and don't hesitate to check out allposters.com. Just don't order the cheaper paper if you buy prints. They offer higher quality paper, which would probably be a much better choice.
Ordered a new dining set/hutch combination of Amish hand-made furniture. The website was very user friendly and well laid out. Wanda and Leah helped us through the entire ordering process. They sent us wood stain and leather samples at no charge, provided we returned them, which we did. Build time was estimated at 9-12 weeks. After 10 weeks, they called saying the furniture was done and a shipper would be calling to deliver within 2 weeks. Shipper called and scheduled delivery two days later. Delivery was supposed to be driver only curbside, but the delivery person and his wife helped me carry all pieces into the house, unpackage and set them all up before leaving. The furniture is absolutely stunning and far exceeded our expectations. Customer service and delivery were as good as it gets. We highly recommend amishoutletstore.com
Ordered some long sleeve t shirts in a variety of styles and colors. Pricing is good. Product options are also not bad. You get increasing discounts for volume orders and bonus dollars to apply to future purchases after placing an order. Shipping is free on all orders that exceed $100 in total purchased price. One negative I experienced was through my entire step-by-step process of ordering, the shipping displayed zero cost. At the very last step when I completed the order, the confirmation page showed a shipping charge of $28.67 bringing my total charge to $168. I called customer support and they said I would get an email from their accounting dept showing a full credit for the shipping charge. No apology and no indication of this occurrence being unexpected by the individual on the phone. Several days passed and I received an email from a customer service rep, Christina, saying one of the shirts was backordered and did I want to wait or get a refund on the order. I said I would wait for the backorder, but hadn't gotten any indication yet of a credit for the shipping charge providing her with the details. She said she'd check on it and wrote back the next day saying it was all done and that I should check my credit card account to verify. I did this and it was credited in full on my account. Could be just a fluke, but if you order from UMIDirect, verify all charges, including volume discount show up on your final confirmation. By the way, the shirt quality is very good. I especially like the Badger compression fit long sleeve tees. Very comfortable and quality workmanship. Product pricing was very reasonable and a lot less than big name clothing sites. By the way, UMIDirect stands for Uniforms Direct, since they are big suppliers of industrial uniform products.
Have ordered a multitude of things from Amazon, including lots of free Kindle books. I have never had a bad experience. A few Kindle books I paid fees for did not meet my expectations, so I asked for a refund. They processed the refund immediately back to my credit card, no questions asked. Excellent, extremely convenient site and competitively priced as well!
Still up to the same B.S. Ordered a Canon T2i body for $319, before I found SiteJabber of course. That price was approximately $200 less than the most competitive price on the market at Amazon. Several days passed after placing the order with no clue as to the status. Finally had a phone message from them saying "call us back about this order". I called backed and asked for the person who sent me the email. The guy who answered said the sender stepped out of the room, but he could help me. He then told me they contacted me because they needed my credit card security code, which was submitted on my order already. I told him, after reading several bad reviews about their site, I wished to cancel my order. His response was "why didn't you just tell me that to begin with" and said my order would be cancelled that day. Either this is a very small group with a big business webpage look, or possibly only one person running the show. Either way, the rude response, several day delay in their response to my order submission and the mysterious request for the security code reinforces other reviewers experience. The other thing I discovered on the website is many of the listed product groups had nothing in them for sale. Not just one, but most of them. Very strange and not at all typical of a trusted site. Their phone number was out of Florida, so the site location has also been inconsistent. I ended up buying from Amazon and had no problems whatsoever with them. I also confided with Visa customer support and they agreed with my choice of action and even asked for SiteJabber information to share with Visa customers who call about possible scams. Thanks SiteJabber and all who shared their experiences about more4lessdigital.
Do not waist your time placing an order with this scam web site. However if you want a good laugh call them checking on something they have listed and they will ask you weather you want the turkish model or the english model. The price was $100 higher for the english model. So I said I will take the turkish model and learn turkish. He said do you want the charger the battery and the memory card. I said doesnt it come with a battery and charger and he said, "not the turkish model", I almost died laughing.
