What everyone has to understand is that Quibids preys on the consumers that are looking for the so-called deal. There is no need for me to get deep into the mathematics of the business model, everyone here has done a great job with that. I more want to touch base on how the mathematics tie into the psychology of Quibids.

Most users are not drawn to their site for $25 gift cards or bid vouchers. I mean, c'mon... I did just invest $27 - $180 (or alot more in some unfortunate cases) buying bid packs. Would I really just want to purchase a $25 gift card for $1 after spending at least $27 on bid packs? The reason I use the gift card as an example is because I am going by QuiBids' so called motto: bid on items you intend to/ can afford to buy. That way if you lose the auction, you can still buy the item(s). So, let's just assume I actually purchased the bid packs just to buy a gift card for $1 worth of bids. If I lose the auction, I can still buy the gift card outright for $25 and apply the $1 worth of bids I initially invested to the end cost. So, now I pay the retail price of $25 + $2 for shipping. But the thing is, I cannot now convert my remaining bids I did not use back into cash - only used bids can be applied. Which means I essentially paid $27 (gift card + shipping) + $26 (dollars worth of bids left over), which totals to $53 for a $25 gift card. Well many will argue the $26 left over in bid packs is pretty much money in the bank that you can just use on the next purchase. Trust me, that $ (or bids) is as good as gone. I'll explain later.

With that said, this is where the psychology of Quibids come into play. Most users are attracted to the site for the electronics or high priced items that they generally would not buy due to high retail prices. However, the thought of possibly getting an ipad for $10 is the biggest magnet, not the gift cards. Quibids surely knows this too. It is actually a pretty genius technique, but I will not applaud them. Furthermore, the REAL consumer (probably 95% of users), not the gift carders, will at some point will take a gamble and bid on an expensive item in hopes of capitalizing on a GREAT deal. Realistically, most users go to that site for "the great deal" not the "gift card" or "bid voucher." Unfortunately, some may even win! Yes, they are even more unfortunate than the one's the never win. Why is it unfortunate? Think of it as a trip to the casino a couple times. I sit at the blackjack table and start with $27 and leave with $200 twice in a week! It may seem as though I am winning and getting lucky, however, I am realistically the biggest loser because over the next few weeks I start losing every time I go. One day I lose $27, the next $45, $180 and then I may win small, then proceed to l go on another losing streak. When it is all said and done, at the end of a one month period I went from winning (getting a great deal) the 1st week to losing the next 3 consecutive, blowing my profits, and losing couple more hundred out of pocket. Not to mention, over the next 3 months I win only 2/40 attempts.

In a nut shell, this is the business model of Quibids. Quibids is the House in this case and the users are the gamblers. Occasionally Quibids will actually dish out a deal. This is only done to keep the consumer coming back and used as a way to give other consumers the false sense of "maybe I can win that same deal." When realistically, we all know there are few winners that actually walk out of the casino and even they become the biggest losers in the long run. The biggest winners are in hindsight the one's that just don't gamble at all. The house will always win. And what people do not realize is that the House (Quibids) loves it when you win. Because you will keep coming back and maybe with a few friends the next time around. There are very few that can win big and walk away/ STAY AWAY. Point being, if you want to use Quibids, think of it as a gamble. If you happen to win big, cash out and leave; and not only leave, ban yourself! Take $27, give it a spin. They say only bid on what you can afford to buy.

I say only gamble with what you can afford to lose while shopping on Quibids. Because c'mon! Who the hell is not on that site trying to win that one item they have been dieing to get their hands on. The gift cards and small items are all there for show, just so it does not seem like a gaming/ gambling site. DO NOT be fooled, this site is manipulative and it does a great job of hiding it. Like I said earlier (with a grotesque look on my face), the site is genius. Or maybe consumers are just FOOLS. One of the two, who knows... you tell me (*******@gmail.com). So, the next time you buy a $27 or $180 bidpack, consider it as a day in the casino. If you find the right slot machine, cash out and RUN! The reason I say slot machine is pure and simple. You have no idea of the outcome, not even the slightest especially with the Autobid system. They are not Bots or Employees, it's an autobid system. Reserve prices are set on most items and if an auction is ending with a reserve not met then AutoBid will have a fake user outbid you. So, next time you see continuous bids squeezed in down to the very last secondly repeatedly, just know that the site reserve for that item maybe has not yet been met, so don't waste your time! This site puts on a veil and acts as though they are taking losses, but there is no loss whatsoever. The more bids they can entice users to place, the more money they make off items. Don't be lured into thinking you are a winner/ just got a great deal. The House owns you. It will be just a matter of time before Quibids starts offering comp dollars (QuiDollars) to preferred (hooked) users -- just wait and see. GOODLUCK AND HAPPY GAMBLING!
