I'm a man from Belgium,Neeroeteren. (Dutch speaking) I do like to shop on the net. It's biggest store of the world, where you can find almost everything you want.
I do have some computer skills. Before I buy something, I'll always inform myself about the price and quality.
Electronics, handy tools, DIY materials.
A few years ago when we first offered a payment terminal to our customers, we wanted to test the system for use. Having transferred tens of dollars to our own account, found that not to be transferred to our account. The money was nowhere to be found. After calling several times and mailing, nothing happened. Bank statements and their own documents that the transactions were indeed did happen, but after years, we still see no money...
Now we also want to deliver goods to our customers home and there also want to offer the possibility to pay electronically, we submitted a request to activate an additional portable device. After 4 weeks, this is still not okay.
Such long activation times are not of today.
As a user of secondhand site (2dehands.be) I was enthusiastic to be a member of 'Consultants of 2dehands.be'. It seemed interesting to me - even personal at a professional level - to participate. There was provided a reward in the form of a voucher.
After 5 or 6 sessions, and additional questions from the moderators on the forum, I was sent a voucher of 10 dollars.
The voucher/coupon could be used to buy from companies that usually sell nothing around 10 dollar + shipping-costs.
I will not use the coupon because the companies that can redeem the voucher, none of whom I want to buy something... even at a discount.
The coupon / voucher did I just dragged to my trash bin.
The sessions InSites Consulting programmed for 2dehands.be were mostly about customers trust, and ways to prevent fraud and irregularities.
Let me say that my confidence in InSites Consulting is at a very low ebb.
Some time ago I ordered two website templates, one 'flash cms' and a 'moto cms' template.
The 'flash cms' template wasn't completely functional, it was missing key functions.
The 'moto cms' only worked with third party software, and it wasn't compatible with my web host one.com.
The technical support admitted its flaws.
Template Monster looks and feels as a scam.
Tip for consumers:
View the description of the templates, some are very outdated.
Templates-designs of 10 years old aren't a exception.
Some time ago I ordered a phone cover. Now I'm getting my daily spam. The unsubscribe link doesn't work. Changing the account-settings also doesn't work. Nothing helps, the mails keep coming. There are other shops on the net, who sell you the same things, at the same price. But... they won't spam its customers...
Update after 4 weeks miniinthebox.com responded to my review.
They don't spam me anymore. Must I thank the guy's of miniinthebox, or must I thank SiteJabber for posting my review?...
My son bought last week a new phone cover at miniinthebox. Now they spam again in shiploads. 5/6 times a day!
Dear Jan,
Sorry for the inconvenience. We sincerely accept your suggestions, and will try to provide better service for you.
Sincerely,
Miniinthebox
Now I ordered 130 items at AliEpress, and overall I'm pleased with the things I bought there.
But,... you must be careful. Some sellers are bogus. 8 orders of the 117 things I ordered didn't arrive or where faulty. So 8 times it went wrong, but I get partially my money back. I bought there a lot of different things, led-lamps, clothing, hearing aid, access/point-repeater, usb flash drives, batteries, underwear, shoes, SD-card, led-neon, led-dimmers, professional thermocouple, silicon baking mat, pool floating thermometer, hair clipper, leakage circuit breaker switch, sandals, passive POE injector, IR security IP Dome Camera, custom made neon, CAT 6 network cable... and much more. If you buy something there, you must communicate with the seller, otherwise it could go wrong.
A few things you better not buy on AliExpress are Smart phones or tablets. They are not build for the European/American market, so you will have issues regarding net compatibility.
Tip for consumers:
Be aware! Never buy smart phones or tablets.
If you're not careful when submitting designs they charge you extra (15 euro) I' am a trained graphic designer and yet they refused my design because it supposedly was not in accordance with their terms.
But the conditions were not clear in the submission of the designs.
After a call, they had to admit their fault, but still they had to charge extra.
Tip for consumers:
Just received a sign that was intended to be attached to the window with suction cups. The suction cups were not present, so I can not use the plate. After contacting customer service, I found that I ordered a "suction cupboard" (as formulated in their web text), I have to order suction cups separately. Strange but true.
