I'm severely disabled & cannot shop my usual thrifties anymore, therefore I was thrilled to discover thredUP a few years back. Their prices were way above my local thrift & consignment, TJ Maxx & Marshall & even retail store's sales. But I realized they had to make money & I appreciated having a way to have a variety of items shipped to me to try on. For the past few years everything I wear has come from there. When complimented on them I would freely sing thredup's praises. I have never written a review but I have given tons of word of mouth free advertising! Now I feel I need to hunt all those people down & tell them to steer clear. Policies have changed without making it clear enough to the customers. I have always taken the free return route bc if you go in a store to try things on, what percentage of what you try on actually fits & looks good? A small one. Therefore I tend to keep a running credit with them. Now, how much is my store credit worth when everything I need to return is charged a $1.99 restock fee? This is a bit underhanded for those of us that returned items, opted for the store credit before the policy change & now we are stuck with our store credit greatly devalued. First, it was cutting return time from 30 to 14 days, then limiting one free return per month, but this? I'm done too. I miss the old thredup! If you bring it back let me know.
