Arvixe has very good direct phone service whenever I have had a question.

Their billing policy is clear (unlike many other web services).

They have earned my trust over a period of time in a variety of situations. This company is run by people with integrity.

You need to be careful about their billing options; they are not clearly spelled out, and, of course, they err on the side of getting more money from you.

Customer service is only fair; I depend on my site, and it has now taken over a day to resolve a problem that jeopardizes my website. People whom I know are telling me something is wrong. Meanwhile, of course, people who don't know me are probably thinking, "This website is not worth anything."

Thank you for your feedback Eliot. Sorry you feel that way. Do you have any suggestions on how to improve our billing options?

  • Sears

They take pains to resolve customer complaints in a fair way.

I was overcharged (Sears is a big bureaucracy and does make mistakes). I complained and their representative did a careful job of collecting the facts.

In the end, I did not agree with their conclusion, but I have never seen a big company take such pains to do the right thing. Some companies will easily yield to customer complaints (good PR; helps keep customers loyal), and other companies will never give an inch, once they have your money. Sears is willing to employ people to make the fairest, most reasonable resolution of customer complaints.

I strongly recommend against using this service, including signing up for free short term membership, which I did.

Without my knowledge, they began charging $7.95 per month. When I began looking at my bank statement carefully, I asked them to cancel and give me a refund. They refused.

This unwholesome transaction was actually with a subsidiary of Ancestry.com, which is called Archives.com, which has a rating on SiteJabber of 1.2. My guess that this company uses Archives.com as sort of a test ground to see what they can get away with; then they adapt the biggest income generating ideas that cause the least outrage on the mother site, Archives.com.
