I submitted a resume to BitCentral.com for a developer position on their website. After three interviews and a software test the VP of software development extended a verbal offer to me. He then said he needed to talk with the owner of the business and would send a written offer the following week. I told him I had other offers, but really liked his team and the work environment and made up my mind as to taking his offer, I also needed to make a decision within the next few days regarding the other offers. He then said that wouldn't be a problem and he'd have a written offer sent the next day. We shook hands and I left his office thinking what a nice guy.

The next day I get an email stating he would not extend an offer and wished me luck in my job hunt. I was very disappointed and asked him what changed his mind? He calls me later in the afternoon and gives the same spiel he gave in his email. I then pushed for a real reason and asked if it was technical. He then responded with yes I wasn't talking objects! I went through three interviews and took a programming test and after which he extended a verbal offer because my technical skills were weak? I soon realized that something else was going on and it was more of an animosity motive, I think the reason was I had other offers because when I reminded him that I had to make a decision the next day there was just this long uncomfortable pause.

In any case I'm glad I'm not working for such an unprofessional individual that can just swing in moods that way. This VP actually looks like Steve Carell and has very eerily similar facial expressions and body language of the character he plays in "Office", I didn't realize it until reflecting on how the interviews went. In fact when we parted ways by the elevator he made a joke and gave an exaggerated smile with that forward shoulder and slight body crouch with his hands positioned just below his face with his index fingers pointing forward just like the Steve Carell "Office" character would do. Kinda creepy...

I recently had a very unpleasant exchange with artisticnaturelover, a member of POF, which really set me aside to finally realize the quality of people on the site. Many of the women will give out a phone number but they never answer the phone or respond to text messages. You then message them through the site and still no answer. But artisticnaturelover was just above and beyond the most depraved woman I've encountered online! From her photos she looks like this classy lady but on the inside she's evil spirited and narcissistic, a real witch. Her inability to control her rage is what makes her impossible to deal with, combine that with her low intelligence and its just a recipe for disaster!

Its unfortunate that POF doesn't seem to attract quality people...
