I live out in the Sonoran desert of southern Arizona and love the desert and all the animals here, except for rattle snakes. It has a beauty of it's own and we're loosing it to drought a summer at a time.
I'm 57 and have been around for awhile.
Don't have one but I'm thinking about it!

Funny how the second review is the opposite of the first. This looked pretty good at first. They download a "player" into your computer that has an icon on your desktop. You download games into the player and when you want to play you click on the icon, go to "My Games" and select the game. I downloaded "a" game and launched it to play. I found my pointer was slow and jerky which can happen sometimes and I kept getting a script error message that shut the game down. I went into "contact us" to get any advice and found there is no customer service. Why am I not surprised! There's just a Q & A thing. I put in my question and they come up with a number for how many answers for my question but they don't filter out those particular answers. I tried another question and got the same thing. Useless! I then went into "My Games" to see how things work and the system was downloading another game and had more lined up that I never selected! I couldn't stop the download and even tried to by shutting my computer off. I went into the control panel and uninstalled the player. I don't like surprises, especially when I can't get answers.
This is a great website for helping out without it costing you anything. I first found out about them through our local humane society. If you go onto their homepage you will see a variety of charities to click on. Let's start with The Hunger Site. The next page displayed you will see a line of tabs at the top of the page that you can go to each site with. There is also a box to "click for free to give". Sponsers count the clicks and donate money. The Hunger Site feeds people, The Breast Cancer Site provides free mammograms, The Animal Rescue Site helps homeless animals and also a few times a year they have a Shelter Challenge contest where you can vote for your favorite shelter and they have all kinds of cash prizes to be won, The Veterans Site helps with meals for veterans, The Autism Site provides therapy for autistic kids, The Child Health Site provides medical care for children, The Literacy Site provides books for children and The Rainforest Site helps preserve rainforest land. CLICK across the board and give. It's the first thing I do every morning when I go online. There's also a store to buy things that gives a percentage of what you spend to the charity you link to the store from. Please take a few moments, or longer, to check it out.
First, I love Netflix. I live 20 miles from town and even 1/2 a mile from our mailbox. I put one in the mail, they get it the next day and I get the new one the day after. I have a 2 dvds out at once subscription. One I use for movies and the other for TV shows. When they started the extra cost for streaming I was surprised so many people were angry. I read a angry comment on one report where a woman stated she used to subscribe to a plan with 4 dvds out at once. When they offered free streaming she cut down to one and she wonders why they had to start charging separately and threatens to cancel! Sounds to me like it was just a matter of time for the loss of profits to start. I didn't stream anyway and actually pay less for dropping it. The real crime here is the cost of high speed internet that is fast enough to stream. You have to spend $60 to $80 a month to get speeds that fast! In these hard times that could go for rent, food, utilities, gas. I can't afford it.
After a bad experience with buying Ni-MH phone batteries from Premiumstore.com I found Digikey.com. I still needed 2 batteries for a third phone and went looking for a better price for a pair, but later on in the day. This company didn't appear on the list of sites when I found Premiumstore but I guess it depends on what you put in the browser. They also advertised "Panasonic" batteries and that's what I got. They were $3.15 each + shipping! I wish I had found them first! You also got a choice of how you wanted them shipped. USPS was only $2.22 and they arrived in 2 or 3 days.
I have Panasonic phones and found this website to have good prices on what they note as "Panasonic" batteries. A 4 pack for $17.99 and free shipping. They usually run $20 for 2. The batteries I received were not Panasonic but some no name generics. After 2 weeks the batteries went dead and only then did I look up reviews on complaint websites and found there was alot of complaints about this company. I called the company and explained the batteries went dead and that they were not Panasonic. The sent me 4 replacements at no charge. What I got were "Phillips" batteries. At least a name brand but when I looked up prices for these batteries they sell for $7 - $9 for 4. I still got ripped off! People that wrote into some of the complaint website that wanted to return the batteries also mentioned that to return them you have to pay a restocking fee and pay for the return postage yourself! BAD COMPANY!! But, I did find a good company called Digikey.com for batteries. Check out my review for them.
It's the worst place to look for JOBS there is. Most of the ads are spammers or agencies collecting your information. I especially avoid any ads that don't give a business address, phone number, fax number or email address. If businesses were to advertise in a newspaper at least one of these things would be listed. If it's only a Craigslist email address that's given, back off! I had to change my personal email address because I was getting 70+ spams a day. I really need a job badly but I'm tired of trying to filter out the 10% real jobs from the rest.
featured on NPR in february: universe.jobs
my review describes it: www.sitejabber.com/reviews/universe.jobs
i looked at it recently for a friend and there seemed to be some promising things. best of luck.
That's what I started out thinking, too. It was like WOW! this is where the jobs are hiding, but after some trial and error it seemed most was error. If they don't make it look promising you won't respond! If I do send to a Craigslist email address I ask them how to apply directly to their company because I don't send information through Craigslist email addresses. One person did reply back and said that they don't want to give out the company email address to Craigslist responders because "they" get alot of spam from it. It's pathetic that these predators victimize people whe are looking to feed their families and pay for a roof.
ack, that's crazy. if there are particular companies that you're interested in, what about asking them directly? i also still check the newspaper :)
There are very few jobs in the newspaper here. One of the things I like about the newspaper ads is companies have either their company name, address, phone, fax, or email address. They have to list something ligit or they don't get in. Craigslist ads usually don't have anything but the Craigslist email = trouble! If it's a real company wouldn't you want people to know? There are a few, but very few. I think one of the reasons there are so many bogus ads is because it's so cheap to put them on Craigslist. Newspapers should volunteer to lower their prices for job ads to help with this horrible unemployment problem. It would be a noble act.
I first applied for the free tarot reading 5 days ago. Like what alot of the other reviewers say she really seemed to "hit the nail on the head" about what I have concerns about. She kept asking for $50 for what I thought my be further assistance with my interests. Today she dropped it down to $20 and I went ahead and paid it. She sent me another email with a password to join the club or whatever and I was able to login to the "member space". The first thing she tells you to do is change your password to "something you'll remember" which I tried to do and the site wouldn't take the change. I "disconnected" which I assume is logged out and when I tried to log back in nothing worked. I guess the first password was only good for one using, so now I can't get back in. I'm waiting for a return email to help with the problem. I'm glad I only paid $20. I sounds like she takes the money and runs. In the art of witchcraft people who commit evil deeds will have it come back on them 3 times worse. If she is a cheat I hope it happens to her and her associates. I assume this payment is a one time thing. Has anyone experienced any continuous charges?
You got to change your card. Learn from my mistake. I just noticed one day that I was charged in my creditcard. I know I did not order any thing from her . I did not open her e mails and still I was charged twice.
I called the bank, they told me that my card is set to pay a subscription, The bank can not help me take back the money and I need to contact the company and close the subscription. I sent her an e-mail her, no reply. New amout has been charged to my account just this april 20. I complained to the bank but my bank sent me letter that the bank could not help me take back my money.
Unsubscribe in her website, cancell and change your credit card as soon as possible before she charge you.
Thank you for your reply. I did notice in the "Terms of Use" that to end the "agreement" you had to unsubscribed through one of Gabriella's emails within 30 days, which I did and I also unsubscribed from the Member Space just to back it up. I received an email confirming my cancellation and stating no more charges would be made to my account. I was also watching the charge account I used and the $20 charge never got past pending and was removed after the cancellation. I will continue to check it but I think I'm in the clear. One thing for sure is they never answer emails!
Well, I'm going to make a comment on my own comment! I just checked the charge account and the $20 is charged to my account. I did agree to pay that for a Grand Reading but never sent in the amount ask for for a regular subscription. Since she uses an independant billing company it may have taken time to complete the billing. I have the email letter stating no other charges would be made so I hope that's the truth! I may decided to cancel the card just to make sure. To all who may be reading this thread, has anyone else who has received a letter to confirm cancellation and told there would be no other charges been charged more?
Can anyone give the step by step instruction on how to cancel the subscription. I am so scared to enter the website and press the wrong button and be charged again.
This is what I did. At the bottom of the emails there is a line in red letters that reads "You have received this email because you requested a free reading. If you do not want to receive further email from me, follow this link." Clink on - follow this link. Also, if you paid anything to her you should have received an email with a password to set up a private space at her website which is what I had done before I canceled. You go to her website through the emails by clicking on "read more". In the upper right corner of the web page you see "Member Space". A log in comes up for your email address and the password (you can also click on - forgot passward - if you need to. After logging in click on "Your Information" and in the second box down in the center column you can opt out of receiving emails again. Maybe it works with just the one in the emails but I thought I'd double up by going into the member space too. After that I received the email that confirmed the cancellation. This is what it said:
Hello,
I confirm that we have taken into account your request to unsubscribe to Gabriella’s Golden Circle.
This subscription cancellation is effective today.
As a result, your monthly subscription will not be renewed and your account will no longer be debited. You will receive no more e-mails from Gabriella.
Naturally, your access to your Private Space is maintained.
Gabriella sends her best wishes.
Anne Marie,
My payment to her was on April 23, which I assume is the start date for my subscription, and posted on May 3 so I'm waiting to see if my account is charged again a month from then. I cancelled on April 30. Now, depending on what day of the month your subscription started you may get a charge after you cancel because it takes a good ten days to be posted. Remember she has cgbilling.com do her billing for her and it takes time. I assume you wouldn't get charged for the next month, but then I'm waiting to find out myself. Don't be afraid to go to the website you've already paid for it! Good Luck RK and anyone else this helps!
I have not received any more charges and it's been over a month! What I did must have worked!
