We payed a £2000 deposit for a holiday home after agreeing a price. The owners then demanded more money. We said no. The owners kept our money. VRBO were incredibly unhelpful. Having looked more closely it's clear that the reviews are all fake. We told VRBO but they don't seem to care. The property in question only has 5 star reviews. Genuine holiday makers who lost their money aren't allowed to write reviews. These people have been doing this for year's and VRBO don't seem to care as long as they continue to profit from it.
