I am not reviewing ALL of Walmart.com because I basically like Walmart.com very much. I am only reviewing MarketPlace items for sale on Walmart.com

Now that holiday gift giving time is coming you will want to be very careful about ordering MarketPlace items on Walmart.com as if you have problems with your order or want a refund, you will have to go through a lot of steps to make the resolution of the problem happen.

A MarketPlace item can be identified by the word MARKETPLACE in the word title of the item. Walmart just takes the order you make on Walmart.com but then immediately just send the order on to the MarketPlace vendor, which from my experience is usually a Chinese company located in China. I recommend AGAINST ordering any MarketPlace item for the following reasons.

You MUST FIRST read the item as it appears in your online shopping cart to notice
When the delivery date is. It will be anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 weeks
From your date of order.

If you consummate the Walmart.com order and discover something inadequate
Or unacceptable about the terms of the item and/or its delivery AFTER
You have placed the order, you have to jump through a lot of hoops or
Steps before you can get an email to you saying your charge on your
Credit card has been issued.

Walmart will not issue the refund/credit to you and when you call the usually great telephone Walmart customer service, they will just tell you that they will have the vendor of the MarketPlace item call you within 24 hours for you to talk to them about getting a credit for a refund and for them to cancel your order.

When and IF you get that phone call, it will be a person in China or someone
With a heavy foreign accent of some kind. They are courteous and you
Will probably get your credit card refund but you have to be clear and
Keep on saying that you want the credit issued AND YOU WANT AN EMAIL
FROM THEM VERIFYING THE CREDIT TO MY CREDIT CARD.

You need to write
Down the time and date of this phone call and the name of the person you
Spoke to and take down a transaction number if there is one. Even
If you call Walmart.com a minute after you made the online order, you
Still cannot change the order and cancel that Marketplace item off of
Your order. You have to wait and take many steps to get a refund surely made to your credit card.

Another problem with Walmart.com MarketPlace
Items is that the photo of the item and the actual item do not match.

There can be any number of things about that non-match like it says you
Get an accessory item that comes with the price of the item but that
You do not receive. Almost always, the DESCRIPTION of the item will be very short, if not completely missing altogether. The description will not give you important information of the item that you usually look for. That reason alone is what you should never order MarketPlace items.

You may be denied a refund if the item is totally not what you thought it would be, because the item basically does not contradict what was set forth in the official word description. I have recently ordered an item that did not look at all like the picture but since the word description of the items was very sparse and the price was very low, I just did not want to spend the time and effort trying to get a credit.

There have been several items where the word description was simply false in some respect. A common thing is for a handbag to be described as "leather" when it arrives as a plastic material.

Sometime the person from China will communicate with you via email and if you can understand what they have written, you can try to get a refund that way. Sometimes they person will ask you if you will accept the item and pay for it a lower price and then you negotiate a lower price. I say just do not do that.

Even if you decide before ordering that even if the item is junk and you don't want it you will just keep it and not bother with getting a refund and will just give it to a thrift store, you will after a while find that the item almost always is a disappointment and you threw money down the drain.

  • AHS American Home Shield

10/20/18

There is a definite need for a company that provides a service like American Home Shield used to provide. These older homes in the suburbs of large cities need lots of repairs on major systems in the house - heating, air conditioning, plumbing, large appliances etc. When there is no adult at home and the adult must take off of work to be there when the repair technician arrives, the amount of time taken off of work and the prompt arrival of the technician must happen. Also, when an older retired person is trying to stay in their house and not go to a "old folks home" type situation, this type of home repair service company is very much needed and depended upon.

But unfortunately American Home Shield finds it most profitable to use foreigners, mostly people living in India it sounds like, to exclusively handle their phone customer service. That sure does not sound "American" to me. AHS chooses to not give decent paying jobs with benefits to U.S. citizens living in the USA and who speak intelligible clear English. The customer service people are poorly trained and have to put you on hold for long periods of time. Many of these people have absolutely no customer service ability or skills whatsoever.

The idea it to have you schedule a service repair online or on the phone with a recording message taker machines and to eliminate as much as possible the customer speaking with a human being with a name.

They do not give you a paper receipt at the time that the repair is completed in the home. They say they will send your receipt in your email. You should not pay in advance for the service by credit card BEFORE you the repair is completed, although AHS is strongly pushing you pay by credit card and pay in advance or arrange automatic credit card charge to happen at some point immediately after the repair. That is NOT good for the customer.

The service costs about $560 per year and it goes up each year. Plus you pay $125 for each repair that is guaranteed for 60 days.

There are good things about these services but when you have to battle on the phone with the service vendor (plumbing company etc) and AHS and have to make several phone calls and emails trying to find out their promises were not kept to you and it takes you 4 or more days to get a repair done, it becomes not worth it.

Contractor: A-US Air Cond Of Texas Ltd is the offending contractor in my recent effort to get my central gas heating system which was completely not working. This company tries and succeeds in having you not be able to speak to a real person on the phone. The repair technician kept telling his bosses that he had text messaged me or that he had telephoned me when he had not done so. He communicated with me dishonestly and stayed on this cell phone for the entire one hour of his first visit. I think some of the cell phone calls were to get coaching on how to diagnose and fix the problem and other were personal phone calls. The repair person was Hispanic and I was beginning to suspect that he was an illegal alien or undocumented worker and not a U S citizen. On his second and final visit to complete the repair, I sat their with a notepad and watched his repair every second. I was going to kick him out if I saw him try to get on his cell phone with personal calls.

There are many tricks service companies can play on their customers and dealing with each one individually is also a big headache unless you live in a small town and know the companies and the people.

Once you sign a contract of any kind, then you are screwed and you start being treated badly.

But when it comes time for you to renew your contract and pay up for the next contract period, you will be bombarded with "reminders" to renew.

  • Ace Hardware

12/18/17

Ace Hardware sent out a coupon for 50 percent off any item. My friend went in to town to buy a $13 bag of chicken feed hoping to apply the 50 percent off coupon discount. The owner of the Ace Hardware franchise store in or near Mineral Springs, North Carolina, said that even though the legal wording on the coupon stated there were no exclusions and according to legal wording on the coupon, it should be good for half off of the chicken feed price, he, the Ace Hardware franchisee / store owner said that he just decided on his own not to apply the coupon because he could not make enough money on such a low priced item.

Needless to say my friend was disgusted with the way the Ace Hardware Store was operating and he told the owner he would not shop there even again. I wrote to the corporate Ace Hardware website two times and asked them to send my friend a coupon for a free bag of chicken feed to make up for their bad illegal treatment of the customer and reneging on the legal coupon offer. They have ignored my emails so I hope they will get themselves enough bad will from people to pay them back by not buying anything from them.

Since they did not make up for their error and make sure my friend got the free bag on chicken feed, I am writing this complaint against all Ace Hardware Stores all over the USA and hoping that people will not shop there because they do not live up to their advertised offers and these Ace Hardware Stores just get to each make up their own policies as they see fit in individual customer circumstances.

The beginning part of this YouTube video tells about what my Friend experienced... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaHjcLa5s7Y...

Mini! Van Vs Garage: They Both Lost

These small hardware stores are beginning to act worse that the big box hardware stores so maybe we ought to all just stay away from them as you cannot expect small-town community hospitality or fair customer care.

Ace is NOT the helpful place.

*******@AceHardware.com

I am doing all this complaining on behalf of what happened to my Internet friend totally on my own with no coaxing from anyone solely because I just do not like to see people treated unfairly and dishonestly.

  • Rotita

2/17/17

Here are the things to be aware of when ordering from Rotita.com

Trick Number 1
Even though they say they have free shipping there is a "insured shipping" fee at checkout of about $3.00 that is mandatory. What difference does it make that they call it an insurance fee rather than a shipping fee? None.

Trick Number 2
There were at least two different active coupon codes, one of which I should have been able to apply to my not-consumated online order, but I tried both coupons and neither would grant me the 15% discount. I got a message something like "you have already received your maximum discounts.' The coupons were supposed to be "site wide" but apparently that does not mean you will receive the discount on every item on the site that you may order. Trick Number 2

Trick Number 3
I sent a special message to them to tell them that it looked like my major credit card order would HAVE TO BE associated with PayPal.com. I told them I wanted absolutely nothing to do with PayPal.com but that I wanted to pay directly to Rotita.com with my credit card which their site indicated they do accept for payment. I received a prompt response to my request / inquiry but it was an unsatisfactory response. Their answer translates to --"Tough, we only accept payments that are associated with PayPal processing and you may not pay us directly with your major credit card.'

Trick Number 4
I cannot prove this but it looks like some of the positive reviews that the items on their website receive are fake or shill troll comments where it is just designed to make people believe that the reviewer is a real customer who really was pleased with Rotita and the product they ordered. Like one comment I saw said "good seller." Looks fake to me.____________

I continually get a bunch of unsolicited advertisements for Rotita clothing on my email home page. It was like eye candy to me because they had so many really cute clothes and many of designs looked to be ideal for an overweight person and the prices were very reasonable. So I made the mistake of going to their website and trying to order a blouse. From then on I kept getting notifications by email telling me to complete my order.

The only reason I give Rotita.com a two-star rating is that the clothe designed were really nice and the prices certainly were attractive. But their were many misrepresentations connected with ordering from them so I do not even know if those clothes really exist or if I would ever receive decent merchandise in a timely manner.

  • The Children's Place

4/5/16

I recently placed two separate online orders for several items of clothing for a boy and a girl that I babysit. I was unsure of their size but the girls clothes in size 5 were too small. The boy's items fit fine and I will keep those.

I wrote to their customer service and asked if they would refund my purchase price on some of the girl's items that the price tag was removed from. I knew I had to pay postage to return the items but after reading the fine print in their return policies, I saw that if the price tags are not still attached to the garment, they will not issue a refund.

Here is part of their IFS ANDS and BUTS of their Return Policy.

The Children's Place Return and Exchange Policy

We will gladly accept unwashed, unworn merchandise, with original sales receipt, with original sales tag attached, and within 45 days.
All returns are subject to verification of original sale. We reserve the right to limit returns regardless of receipt.
Merchandise may only be returned or exchanged in the country in which it was originally purchased.

I wrote an email to their Customer Service Department on March 31 00 Case Number is *******. I should have heard back from them by email by yesterday, April 5,2016. I did not hear back from them so I wrote another email ( Case Number is *******) to them telling them that I was going to write a negative review of their company on SiteJabber.com since their customer service was so poor, almost nonexistent.

I would say if you want to buy children's clothes online you better be very careful that you know the correct size. Macy's has a good free returns police and so does Nordstrums. Walmart is good too.

The Childrens Place has retail stores all over the country and there are three in the far subburbs of my town but I am unable to travel to the store to make returns of items, and there are some items that can only be returned by mail by me.

I read an article recently that The Childrens Place is one of those companies that is about to go out of business because its sales are way down. They seem last-ditch desperate to move the goods out of their warehouse and will write anything in their email advertisements to get rid of their merchandise before they close their business for good.

Do not even sign up for their email advertisements because they send you about three a day with exagerated sales and discount claims that are meaningless considering their lousy return policies and customer service.

I did not lose a lot of money and I will just donate the five or so items of size 5 girls clothing to a thrift store. At this point, it would not be worth the effort of going to a printer and printing out or photocopying all the paper work on the transactions, then packing the items nicely, and then going to the post office and standing in line to mail the package and paying probably more than half the cost of the clothing for the postage.

I have learned my lesson the hard way about this terrible company --

  • iHerb

9/3/15

I gave my sister my 6 digit Rewards Code to put on her first order and the order was for about $150. I was expecting to receive about $10 Rewards Credit on order I placed for myself about a week after here order was placed. I chatted and sent several emails back and forth trying to get my Rewards credits for bringing another customer to them.

Iherb's "customer service" is simply a joke on the customers. It has absolutely nothing to do with serving the customers and is only a theft of customer's time to even deal with them.

I ended up filing a complaint with my credit card company and they just said I won the dispute and they will not charge me the $45 order on which I was not given Rewards credit, but credit card will also not pay iherb. I herb has 45 days to dispute the ruling but doubt they will. That is not how Iherb makes their money.

They just consummate sales quick and dirty and customer is SOL in trying to resolve problems after the sale was made.

I used to think Iherb was a great company and they certainly have a large selection of products. Now, I am more inclined to go wtih Swansons but have to be careful there too.

I have narrowed down the supplements that I feel are very beneficial to my health and that I do not want to be without and I am trying to limit myself to purchasing those. It is not a good idea to respond to advertised new items in eamil ads for products you do not know you need. I am on a limited retirement income and I spend about $100 per month on basic essential supplement items I do not want to be without, but I really cannot afford to even look at new products described and do not want to fall prey to advertisements.

There is an extreme large amount of typical deceptive marketing rhetoric on health supplements and one has to just gaurd oneself against it all.
