Delivery within 10 minutes. Very satisfied. Now I can spend more time playing the actual game, and not griding to earn gold as if it were a job.
Tried to get in on the amazon gift card deal.
They advertised that if you can get 3 people to purchase through a referral link, the deal is free!
I received the 3 referrals and was about to get my $20 GC for free.
But then, this company cancelled my deal, with no authorization, and no reason for doing so.
Tried calling them, nothing they can do, blah blah. Offered my some of their imaginary money. Useless. This is a sketchy sketchy company. I am very upset that they already have my name, CC# and email address.
Avoid this website!
This is what they're doing with most everyone.
Bryan,
A purchase would never be canceled without notifying you. However, we would be more than happy to look into this for you. Please be on the lookout for a message from one of our Consumer Advocates.
Thanks for LivingSocial!

I have already tried calling...
The CS rep said that I had cancelled the deal myself. Which I did not not do.
Why would ever cancel a deal, that was no longer $10, but free because of referrals!?! The website will not even let me change my email address, so obviously there are some issues there.
I'm done with this. Too much hassle over $20.
You've lost my business, and as many people that I can explain my experience to.
That's where I'm at, too, Brian!
I saw on AOL that they did a big report on this scandal
http://www.walletpop.com/2011/01/25/massive-livingsocial-deal-for-amazon-gift-card-left-some-unimpre/
Yeah, I gave up too and stopped asking questions.
Bryan,
I had the EXACT same problem as you 2 days ago. Unfortunately, I can't give any words of advice because they don't do a damn thing to help you. Whenever you call, the recording says you are 30th in line in calls and it's no wonder, everyone is pissed! My situation: my mother used her credit card to pay for 4 tickets to the Sacramento Kings basketball game as a fun event for my 3 sisters and I. Since we each bought a single ticket under our own account but all used HER same credit card, Living Social assumed we were evil crooks and canceled the latter 3 transactions leaving us with a SINGLE ticket to the game. Who goes to a bball game to sit alone?! They said it was because people try to get the 4th deal for free (if 4 friends buy the same deal, yours is free) so that's why it was cancelled. I was not trying to be sneaky and why couldn't they just not give my deal to me for free, I would've been ok with that and they would've gotten money for 4 tickets, not 1 ticket like they have now. It took me 4 calls for the rep to admit I had not clicked the "cancel" button on my own and she told me the "no repeat credit card" rule was in the fine print but when I scoured every word, it was not in there. I was told that they were in the "process of updating it" Well they're setting themselves up for lawsuits. A company must abide by the terms in the fine print and if it's not in there, they can't just make up rule and expect the consumer to abide by it. Shady business practice.
And some fyi, they did offer to refund me the ticket but (as some other customers on here have complained) the rep told refused to give me a confirmation number right then and there and told me it would be in an e-mail. Well I don't trust them now so how am I to believe the e-mail will actually arrive. It won't even matter though because I've heard sooo many complaints that the money actually never gets refunded in the bank, it just does on your LivingSocial account. So now I have to spend my time to review my mother's bank statement to make sure it gets refunded. This site is a sham from everything I've heard, that's why there are no confirmation numbers immediately following your purchase through the site.
Amanda S,
With all respect, they DO in fact cancel your transactions without notification, it happened to me 2 days ago and also to many others. I appreciate you trying to help frustrated customers like us but please tell your supervisor or company PR person to read some of these reviews, we would really like to be heard since calling the customer service number gets us nowhere. Thanks and good luck to everyone!
Valerie,
I suggest you contact the credit company and work to refute the charge now, even before it hits your account. They should be able to help you with that.
There's actually a secondary good reason to do that: The major credit card vendors (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) charge merchants a % of all sales as their fee. The % is based not only on type of business, but also based on history of chargebacks and claims. So that, the more credit card chargeback claims a company receives, the higher their transaction fee for processing is.
Beware, ordered and then they cancelled my purchase without notifying me. Had a group going, all went through until I had referred 3 people to get one ticket free, then it got cancelled, and now they won't honor the sale. This site might work if you pay full price, but if you send the link to others (I sent to 4 people who purchased) but they don't want to give the "if 3 buy you get it free" deal, so they cancelled mine but charged all my referrals. Sketchy company, and no customer service, will not stand behind anything. I asked to speak to a manger and was told there was no manager in today...
IMO/IME, It doesn't work for the single deals, either.
Wendy,
I didn't know all of that information about the transaction fees so thank you! I am going to tell my mother to contact her credit card issuer/bank to check for her refund. Unfortunately, now I've had to burden HER with all of this mess. I feel like I really got duped, as did the rest of us. I hope the BBB checks them out. Thanks again for the info Wendy and good luck in your situation too!
I feel so lucky that I caught on to their foolishness before the Amazon fiasco. I saw all of my friends buying these on Facebook and tried to warn them. If you're waiting on a refund, make sure you confirm the amount of the refund on your statement. Living Social tried to give me a partial refund with the rest in their "imaginary money."
I purchased the amazon deal through Living Social and loved it! No problems...got the $20 voucher for $10, used it and life is grand!
I purchased a deal with them this past week. My best friend purchased the same deal but she purchased 3 of them. They will not honor my my me + 3 because it wasn't 3 separate friends. How does that even matter? They're are getting the exact same amount of money. Our 4 purchases totalled almost $800 just for them to screw a customer over. I will definitely use Groupon & Half Off Depot from now on. Also, half off depot was cheaper for the same deal but I went with LS b/c I had purchased from them before. NO MORE!!!!
i agree. it happened to me and all they say "is there anything else i can do for you?" yes refund my money. there system is set up to fail.
Sorry to here about it. I don't think I could stand them having my CC#. I think I would call the card company and make them aware then change my e-mail address.
I am with Lorraine - I would contact the credit card company and inform them the card is compromised; ask for a new card. There is so very much negativity on this company, we simply cannot trust them to perform. The posts by Omar and Amanda - pretending to be satisfied customers - if true, are blatant violations of FCC rules and are illegal.
As somebody else wrote; "Too bad, so sad". Don't be fooled....stay very far away. Each living social mailing I now receive goes into my Internet Frauds folder as a reminder of things to avoid.

Katina S. Yeah. My boyfriend got me a level 60 shaman using this site. He had a death knight. I wanted to play a shaman with the new draenei character, but I didn't want to work her up from level 1. They gave me 300 gold as well. I used this money to get a flying mount. It was very helpful.
