Amazon was my first online shopping experience and it was amazing. You placed your order and it arrived in a matter of days, it was exactly what you paid for w/o any worries. Then they started the Prime services, you pay $100.00 a year up front, get two day delivery, some Kindle book discounts and their TV shows. For me even though I probably spend close to a hundred in shipping, I don't want to be told to pay this amount and " you'll get better service from us!" So now if your not a Prime customer, your shipping can take days to weeks to arrive (if at all). Many times you deal with new seller's, and your order never comes. Amazon has purchased a newspaper, they've ventured into making movies, debating purchasing pharmaceutical and the one thing that got them started their losing focus on, great deals from reputable sellers and great shipping. If you stretch yourself to thin, you fall apart and their services are doing that. I ordered an item 4 times, from 4 different seller's, it took 2 months and it never came. Amazon did refund my money back through their A-Z customer service, but all I wanted was my item! Now after all these years of being a dedicated customer, I'm looking for another place to shop.

Prior to Christmas, I was a fan of this site. They had some unique items and pretty decent prices, their shipping wasn't the fastest but with lower prices something has to be sacrificed. Then this year, after Black Friday they screamed " guaranteed arrival for Christmas" well as a consumer I trusted this and started my holiday shopping, big mistake. They cancelled two orders I placed even when it showed the items were available for purchase but the "nail in their coffin " came when they cancelled an order I placed on 12/4/15 two days before Christmas! Their excuses are always the same "the supplier was unable to fulfill the order" but as a consumer I rely on them to make sure of this before you list an item for sale. Their full of apologies which is "BS"on an order placed 20 days before the holidays as far as I'm concerned, I placed the orders because I wanted my stuff not excuses! I'll never order from them again because your not guaranteed you're getting anything!

I; m a seller on Etsy and an artist that sells some original works of art as well as custom made crafts. I had my account suspended twice for selling what they called endangered animal jewelry (even though it wasn't on their list), I tried to explain this but they suspended my account until the item was removed. Long story short, the item I was made to remove is still being blatantly sold by other sellers. When I asked about this, I was told they'd look into it and nothing was ever done to the other sellers. I was also told I could "snitch" on the other sellers if I wanted to, but what am I the Etsy police? They banned my item and couldn't do anything to anyone else for the same thing. Shady site and as soon as the New Year comes in, I'm closing my shop there. Not a good experience, more stress than anything else and not from customers but from Etsy itself.
