“Doing surveys”

Brad F.

So far, doing the surveys has been has been very rewarding. Some of the surveys have been very interesting and some of them have been very hard and boring. Overall most of the surveys have been fun and i recommend you give them a try.

“They require photo and driver's license!”

It used to be a great site. That changed the summer of 2023. Now, in order to redeem, you have to upload a photo of yourself and the front and back of your driver's licence! Nowhere on their redemption page does it mention this. It's hidden in the privacy/redemption terms but doesn't specifically mention driver's licence or similar government id. I tried several times to get them to manually redeem for me. All I got each time was cut and paste company policy. I tried uploading my driver's licence but covered up my id numbers. That got me rejected by the third party verification company that they now use. When I tried to reason with them, they said my account was suspended as I was suspected of fraud (really?) and my membership terminated. I've been with them ten plus years but that apparently counts for nothing. I posted a negative review on Trust Pilot but it was removed along with all the others with the same problem. Dynata/Webperspectives is terrible. Don't waste your time.

This site is not bad! I have cashed in with them many time since becoming a member back in 2011 using both paypal and now I get air miles and the points don't take to long to add up.

First survey website I've found that you actually receive a reward from; get a couple hundred points per survey (you must qualify, so you can't do EVERY survey they send you). Per 1,000 points you can redeem them. In September I (hesitantly) redeemed them for a $10 Chapters gift card. They emailed me the 'card' and I was able to redeem it online. Super impressed.
The other day I redeemed for a Cineplex voucher. Says to wait 4-6 weeks for it to show up in the mail. Fingers crossed, but so far, so good.
(EDIT SEP22 2015) Upped this from four to FIVE stars. I have redeemed quite a few Cineplex vouchers. It's a General Admission that is received in the mail. Haven't paid for a movie out for quite some time.

UPDATE AT THE END.
Looks like the end is near for Web Perspectives. I have been a panelist on this panel for around 15 years. Up until very recently, I have had virtually no issues with this company. I always received my rewards without any hassles. But all of a sudden, this time when I wanted to collect my reward, they want me to upload my drivers license ID or some other form of Gov. ID. What? So they have partnered with an outfit called Veriff.
This company will keep your photo ID on file and who knows what else will happen with it. I'll get an email one day saying that there has been a breach and we all know how that story goes. If I would have received a notification within a reasonable amount of time telling me about this HUGE change in collecting the rewards that I worked hard for, maybe I would feel a little less like being taken advantage of. At this point they will not issue MY Gift card unless I comply.
They seriously think that for 20 bucks I will just send in my PHOTO ID. Here is a response from them to me regarding this issue.

"Thank you for contacting Member Support.
Keeping your account information safe and secure is extremely important to us, which is why we've partnered with Veriff, a global verification system. During the redemption process, you may be asked to confirm your identity through Veriff by uploading a valid government issued ID and a photo of yourself. Once your account is verified, you can finish the redemption process and will no longer have to go through Veriff again on your next redemptions. We appreciate your cooperation. Stay safe and have a great day!"

You can't just think that you can take advantage of people without at the very least, notifying them of upcoming changes.
I'm pretty sure that unless they change this policy, Web Perspectives will be a brand of the past.

UPDATE: Here is an update. I am not entirely sure why, but Web Perspectives reached out to me and told me that they have manually verified my account. So I upped my star rating from 1 to a 3. Before these issues, they were easily a 4 star but now I must hold the line at 3 because of the distress they caused me over this nonsense.

Tip for consumers:
At least their customer service reached out to resolve the issue.
