“Good for beginners...”

I've always enjoyed reading but sometimes it's frustrating when having to buy books which are quite pricey. When I discovered Wattpad, I was pleasantly surprised! The layout is very easy to understand for all ages and beginning authors can release their own books. I've also seen authors who have begun on Wattpad and made it to actually publishing their novels which is amazing! And probably the best thing: it's free of charge! It is also great for kids because parents can set a parental option. Wattpad has some faults, but that is mainly down to the members of the website who release inappropriate books and comment in a cruel manner. Many members are very rude to the authors and demand for updates which can sometimes lead to the author closing down their account. However, Wattpad is probably the best social website I have seen when snapping down on bad behaviour. I love it!

“This review is mostly a rant for the fan fiction side of the website.”

Sure there are a lot of good books created by good authors, but if you're looking for fan fictions (every fandom except for real life), go to fanfiction.net or archiveofourown, because you won't find any good ones there. Basically, the fan fiction side is almost all written by middle and/or high schoolers. While fanfiction.net offers a filter able to show you the lists from update date, upload date, favourites, follows, completes, incompletes, able to choose two genres, how many words you want in the story, or even discarding options, you can get a more precise search. Whereas wattpad doesn't. Furthermore, fanfiction.net allows authors to shine more easily (at least in my case) in that particular fandom. Upon searching hours and hours, days upon days, I've only found five rare gems hidden from view. The search engine doesn't work as you'd want it to, because you'll never find the kind of book you'd want to read. Besides that, there's no filters (except for looking for 'complete stories) to narrow down. So in terms of the search engine, I think they could improve.

Wattpad is truly amazing! I'm a bookworm and everythings FREE is like heaven to me. You can read a story without signing up, isn't that amazing?

Wattpad indeed is one of the most successful creation out there. It's even been very popular here in Philippines! Congrats Wattpad, please continue moving forward!

I want them the school to take off the block, it's so dumb. And it helps kids read. So it benefits us.
The teachers say we need to read well then let us read.

Being able to get free stories give it a three at least. It failed to earn any more, though since there is many kids on the app that post books that are unreadable due to grammar or just make no sense. There should also be way more filters because it is very hard to specifically find what you want.

Tip for consumers:
If you came here for fanfiction, ao3 is a way better alternative.

I honestly like this site, but it can be very frustrating at times. I have lost up to twenty written poems and a couple chapters of books I have written and as a writer I can never manage rewriting the original with the same tone and meaning. This really upsets me. Wattpad needs to work on their syncing and saving because I am just about done with this site. Time is worth more than anything in life and Wattpad wasted up to three hours of mine.

My review is from my personal experience. People beg writers to update stores on this site, and that can get frustrating, as well as not being able to add pictures from the mobile site. The random layout changes can be unnerving, but the site in itself is okay. I enjoy sharing my wiring and have not had any sort of "stealing problems". The people behind the program seem helpful enough, too :)

I am a newbie to the site but I really enjoy it . There is every type of genre available and some helpful reviewers to your own writing. I would highly recommend it, particularly for younger writers.

I never got a verify email. I kept on reloading my email, and I know it's not my laptop. Not mention I kept on resending for the code. So I might use it or not now.

I have made more than a dozen attempts over four days to sign up for Wattpad. The "verify email" step emits an email that is alleged to contain a "code" to ensure I am real. The code must be invisible for none has yet appeared. Several replies to the site have resulted in silence. The site Help screen erroneously tells me that my software is out of date.

I'm not sure who they are but they keep sending me spam. I have attempted several times to have them delete my information as I have never provided them with it. They have told me they have done so but I keep receiving spam from them. Has anyone else had this experience with them?

I write my stories. It is a good one for reading stories, and already published ones. It is cool! I like it because of that.

I like the site, but it could be better. What I want to say is basically there are better sites. Wattpad just isn't very... you know, creative! I would probably love the site to death if you could give you profile or your story a layout, like maybe the site Mibba.com lets you do. It makes it more interesting in a way, though many people disagree, but teens and such just enjoy colors and personalization. Even if it doesn't seem that way they, I included, enjoy it because they are truly still kids and its just a thing that attracts adolescence. I truly wouldn't use this site if it wasn't for the fact that there are many aspiring authors in the making on there and that there are more people using it than other sites which lets more people read your work.

Ex:

Mibba
+
My Story
+
It's fan base
=
123 readers, 27 subscribers, 17 comments

Wattpad
+
My Story
+
It's Fan Base
=
2,356 readers, 124 fans, 48 coments

Ya, I think I like using Wattpad if it comes to how much you'd like feed back, but when it comes to creativity definitely Mibba. You should check out Quizilla also. Quite interesting.

Biggest POS in the world.
I was on wattpad in the very begining as a way to beta test projects and to get a fanbase. Did that. Worked well. Then Twilight hit.
*DUN DUN DUN*
When you have 31Million people copying and rewriting a piece of literary work that's always poorly written, the result is TERRIFYING.

Personally, I had my work stolen by other's on the site, the admins and those in charge rather appeal to 13-15 year olds then to try to get a legit site where reputable publishers would look at it as if it wasn't a joke in the industry.

The only PROS I can say for this turd of an enviroment is that I did get some amazing fans and a very strong adult fan base (all of which jumped ship and cancelled their wattpad accounts because it had gotten to the point of the site being a skidmark in the literary world).
