“Reliable & Fast Moving Company”

Beatrice F.
4/3/16

Best moving company I would recommend to anyone! I was looking for a moving company that did not have thousands of bad reviews and I searched for a while! I asked for about 15 quotes but was worried by the amount of bad reviews for all of them. Then, I found UPack, a bit more expensive for our move (we used half of the pod) but 2 times faster than any other company. What they quoted was what we paid! No surprise! Delivered on time at destination / Excellent customer service over the phone and with the truck drivers/our belongings were in perfect condition! Iv'e already recommended it to all of my friends!

I was moving from Texas to the mountains in Colorado. I booked a u-pack and though complicated it seemed like a good value compared to regular moving companies. The issue with U-pack is that it would not deliver the container outside Denver and so after I booked it I had to find another moving company to collect from the u-pack location in Denver and complete the final leg of the journey. As I tried to arrange this and packers in Texas I found a regular moving company at a similar price and it was much simpler. U-Pack had offered free cancellation understanding that I needed to make these other arrangements. When I called u-pack they said they had already cancelled my booking because their Denver location was full. They admitted they had not tried to contact me and so I could have booked movers at both ends of the trip only to discover on the day that u-pack did not deliver the container. Be warned if you book u-pack that you proactively check that your booking doesn't get cancelled by them

For the price I was not particularly satisfied with the size of the cubes, they are a foot too tall and it makes that space kinda useless unless you're loading just boxes.

My cubes also arrived filthy so all my stuff was needing a substantial wipe down.

The main reason I'm leaving a 1 star is due to the drop off service. They give you a time from from 8-12 when they will drop your cubes off. That is a fairly large window in my opinion to get something delivered.

Being single I scheduled people to help me move to be there at my house at 12:30... I received no calls on the tardiness of my cube or any form of communication other than when I called the dispatch told me 'yes they are on the way and you're next on the delivery'

They did not show up until 2:58pm so I paid 2 movers for 3 hours of sitting around. The customer service is horrible. If they said 'delivery before 5pm' that would have been fine, but don't be three hours late and not contact the person and then also lie to them several times.

Terrible company, would recommend PODS or other services.

The only good thing was their management heard me out in my frustrated state and were very professional.

Also they bolted my cubes shut without my permission and thank god the construction crew across the street had a grinder to open them.

They do not in anyway shape or form care about when you get your shipment. We suffered loss of wage due to there inability to be on time. There compensation is insulting. They stalled our pick up time by nearly a week and gave us only 150 back on over 3000 in charges and told us they will refuse to release our items if there not paid in full even tho my family slept on the floor in an empty house for a week. Avoid this company like the plague.

U-Pack will destroy your belongings then refuse to honor their insurance coverage.
A highly unethical company that should be shut down.
Do NOT contract with them to move anything or you will surely regret it!

They failed to deliver my pod and they asked for a reschedule after the weekend. My lease is done tonight and I'm moving 3 hours away. All my stuff is on the street by my apartment. They notified me last minute and they are not willing to help. Thank you Unpack for the great service.

After multiple assurances before signing up that they would deliver to my home, after I paid the $3,000 and loaded my stuff into the cubes they refused to deliver to my home. Had to rent a moving truck and move it myself

We are in the middle of a week from hell with U-pack. First, they did not deliver our trailer until 9:30pm on the date it was meant to be dropped off, so we waited all day to never pack. Basically, it's impossible to get a straight answer from anyone in customer service and they DO NOT abide by "guaranteed" times. We paid extra money to have a guaranteed delivery date to get our trailer and unpack in our new home (which is 16 hours away from where we moved from)... that was yesterday and still nothing. Even though we called numerous times at both the origin and destination centers, we were told first that our payment was late (even though they did not send us the link to pay until yesterday) and then that we didn't call early enough to schedule a delivery time (even though the previous two phone calls resulted in promised deliveries of 5pm yesterday), so we couldn't get our things. Therefore, we ended up spending EXTRA MONEY to buy an air mattress and towels so that we could sleep in our new and empty home. Today, we were told delivery would occur between 10am and 2pm. Just got the call that one of their drivers "quit just now" and so they can't get our belongings to us until late tonight. Our trailer has literally just been sitting an hour away from us for the past three days without any movement. Finally, when complaining to customer service, we were told "well it works for all of our other customers" - so clearly it's our fault... Also, no refunds have been offered. Do not use them. This company is disorganized, unprofessional, and has no national database to communicate within itself much less with customers. I will certainly never be using U-pack again.

I was persuaded to use the trailer, rather than cubes. Use the Cubes! My section was broken into behind the board they put in place - it was opened to put freight in at various points so this is easily done - my furniture was broken, and Moving Staffers will not insure your breakages in a trailer: they make you decline coverage. In effect, Moving Staffers and U-pack are one company but the line between them makes for deniability on damages. I was told I could not get a different company to load the trailer - only Moving Staffers. With a Cube you can use anyone. Dont use the trailer!

We are still in the midst of a move with Upack. They gave us delivery day and time for our belongings to arrive in FL-but when we called to check on the truck they had no delivery scheduled. They won't do anything to help us as they don't work on weekends. Our entire move was scheduled around the delivery time THEY gave us--and here we sit in FL with no furniture, nothing. These people do NOT care about service, they do NOT do what they say they will do. Run, don't walk, away from them if you're moving. If you had negative ratings that's what I would give them.

Like many others here, I liked that UPack was affordable and that I didn't have to do the driving. That was very true.

But the timing is a serious issue. When I scheduled, everyone kept telling me "delivery in 3 - 5 business days." I saw that so many times. Now I'm here, 6 business days after they picked it up, and it won't be here until the next business day, which means three more nights of sleeping without a bed and three more days of no furniture or stuff. They do have a delivery guarantee option that you pay extra for, but it was never communicated that the 3-5 business days delivery was just an estimate. I scheduled my move around the 5 day delivery date, and now I'm $#*! out of luck. Be careful. Make plans. They'll probably be late.

The U-Pack people are OK, but I had a terrible experience with their subcontracted loaders/unloaders at Moving Staffers. U-Pack pretty much ropes you into using Moving Staffers which has got to be one of the shoddiest, incompetent companies on the planet. Moving Staffers broke and damaged almost everything they loaded, apparently because they have no idea how to load a moving pod and because the word 'fragile' is not part of their vocabulary. I will never use U-Pack or Moving Staffers again. Once U-Pack sets you up with Moving Staffers they practically deny that MS exists, then you have to work your way up the food chain of bottom feeders who just take turns telling you there is nothing they can do about all of the damage they caused as it must all have happened during transit. I'd love to know who the Moving Staffers and U-Pack people use when THEY have to move somewhere, as I'm positive they use a company that takes their jobs seriously. I would never use either company again and strongly advise everyone else to avoid them like the plague.

Unreliable. If you do not pay extra for guaranteed delivery date, their 3 to 5 business days is not a reality.

Pros:
Was affordable
Arrived before estimated (can be a con for some)
Had plenty of space in the truck and charges 100 per extra foot

Cons:
Because the trailer is not sealed properly my boxes and furniture had water (from rain) and dust in them.

Conclusion:
Although terminal to terminal might be much cheaper a relocube to your door is going to require less work from you and cleaner. They were out of relocubes for the period I decided to ship my stuff so book early.

I was looking at over $6,000 to move 3,000 miles. With UPack it was $2,318.

It doesn't matter the weight... and mine was pretty heavy. They don't charge by that, but rather by how much space you take. You pack your own stuff or hire a couple people to do it for you. You let them know when you need the truck and they drop it off. Then you have 3 days to fill it. Close it up and call them and they'll do the rest. They can deliver it right to your house then you'll have 3 days to unpack it. Again just call them when you're done.

It was certainly worth it for a couple friends and me to pack and unpack and save $3700.

I really appreciated the 3 day window too, as I still turned up with more packing to do. Try that with a regular moving company.

I highly recommend them. It wasn't easy to get the truck in my new place, but the guy went to the extra mile to make it work.

Tip for consumers:
If you have a means to pack your stuff, do it. You'll save a bundle!
