After finding photos on the tvrepairkits.com website that matched my symptoms exactly, I ordered the convergence chips kit. I had never attempted a tv repair, or any other electronic equipment repair, but the online instructions made it very easy. Just requires a little time and a little common sense. The online support was outstanding as well! Just repaired an LG LCD as well with a capacitor kit. Followed the instructions and BAM!... good as new! Great website with great kits at great prices! Give them a try for yourself if you wanna save a TON of $$$! Thanks guys! Date of Posting: 22 February 2012 Posted By: Jim Sony & LG Convergence chips kit & capacitors kit
I got my parts. I got a little piece of paper with the instruction link and NO PASSWORD. They direct you to the contact-us page, and there is no way to fill out a help ticket. I called, no answer. I left a password request with the sales staff, gee could you route it to support, no answer. I tried it 4 times. This place SUCKS The 5 star reviews are bogus

I was given an old 55 inch Samsung tv set by a friend of the family. It is very large in size (attaches to its base - and is a mammoth of a tv), however I grew to love the thing because a) it was free and b) 55 inches is quite a large screen.
To my dismay, I turned it on one day and felt like I was watching a 3d movie. After some online research, I realized it was a "convergence" problem - basically my picture's layers were not lining up as they should. I went into the menu to try and fix it - but could only adjust the vertical convergence, and not the horizontal. I realized it was probably time to get a new tv. :o( I looked around and almost spend over $1200 on a new flatscreen television - but decided to go home and think about it.
That evening I stumbled upon this website. I must admit I was VERY skeptical. Seriously? I am to believe that I can fix a television set?! (I can barely make toast people!) :o) But after going back and forth - I decided to give a try. Mostly because of all the testimonies I read - and the questions and answers. It seemed to work for a lot of people - and to me spending 90-100 dollars, sounded much better than dropping $1200. If it didn't work - I figured oh well, I am already dropping $1200, why not $1300? :o)
To my absolute surprise and satisfaction - it worked. It one hundred percent fixed the issue I was having - and I am still able to use my beast of a tv set.
I will admit the soldering part of this made me nervous - but if you follow what this company suggests you do, it isn't hard at all. I bought a test board and the little pieces that goes into it - and practiced my soldering and unsoldering. After a few tries - I felt very comfortable with my abilities.
The step by step picture guide was very helpful. I think there could be more details added to it - as I got confused a few times. But overall it is very well put together. It took me maybe 3 hours to take out the circuit board, remove the old pieces, put in the new ones and solder them into place - then reconnect everything. When I turned it back on for the first time I was very sad - because the picture actually looked way worse. Then I went into the convergence menu and had it do an auto convergence - the picture was then restored to perfect.
*As I fixed it I ran into a small issue and e-mailed the help address - and received a response VERY quickly. That was important to me, and very helpful.
I very highly recommend this product, this company - and my experience as a whole. Anyone can do it with this kit! :o)
I was very hesitant but I figured 35 bucks was worth the risk. With tax it was actually a bit more. Anyways when I received a little plastic bag with a small resistor and instructions, I immediately thought scam, but lo and behold when I followed the instructions everything worked perfectly. It wasn't an easy procedure, need lots of room, and time. Taking pictures helps in tracking connectors. You should have a buddy. Tv working as good as ever. Highly recommend.
With TVRepairkits.com, I was able to repair my 60" Rear Projection television for $80(including shipping), when I was quoted $450 to do the same repair at a local repair shop. They gave detailed instructions that allow even your "Average Joe" to do precise at-home repairs and adjustments to your thought dead or "too expensive to fix" TVs. Can't thank them enough!
Purchased TV kit 3 weeks ago received the wrong parts in 4 days. Still waiting on parts. Had many replies thru their help tickets (only way to try communicate), but no responses. There is no phone number. There is a chat icon, but it is not linked and never available. There isn't any email on this site!
This smells like a scam to me! $400 is expensive to fix a TV, but at least it is fixed and you are talking with the guy face to face. $80 for nothing is just a rip off!
I received the parts in a timely fashion. However the items sent did not match up with the parts needed. Opened a help ticket and sent several emails. They never responded. Tried calling but all you get is a recorded message steering you back to the website. A few more emails but still no response. Tech support is non existent. Cannot recommend
I have tried since last November to simply get a set of convergence chip to repair my TV. The wrong parts were ordered and so i opened a help ticket like they ask. I have only gotten one response. I put it below. Sine that was WEEKS ago I have sent the parts back and confirmed a SIGNED RECIEVED from ups and the address. I still have not heard or gotten anything back. I have called the "sales number" too many times and no one has ever picked up the phone. I have replied to the "help Ticket" 3 times since then. I cannot believe that customers have to go through stuff like this to get the parts that they paid for! This is CRAZY!

Please note that we try to respond to every ticket within 5-7 days but some replies can take longer if we need to dig through schematics or research the issue further with the manufacturer.
After looking at their 2 day shipping policy and all the "success stories" decided to jump on and spend $80 for the convergence repair kit. I'm well experienced in electronics so this was to be "walk in the park". The kit arrived... after 2 weeks. Followed their instructions and the result was... burned other components and now the TV was completely gone... Ah, opened claim on their web site, asking for assistance but they never replied. Beware, you will be left on your skills without any support, and yes be prepared to wait at least 2 weeks for the parts to come.
John, unless you live overseas all convergence kits ship out and arrive usually within 2-3 days. Unless the post office looses it and in those cases we have to reship. If you can provide your last name I will check the tracking.
In regards to the repair we always reply to every help ticket. So if you never received a reply check your spam folders as often emails go there.
I just was want to personally thank you for saving me thousands of dollars. I have a 57 inch Hitachi Ultravision DPL television that had a convergence problem. I didn't realize how easy it was to fix the problem until I found your website. Your website told me step by step how to replace the convergence chips. I received a quote from two local repairs shops that told me to either get rid of the TV set or the cost to replace the convergence chips was over $400.00. I bought your convergence repair kit for approximately $78.00 and all of the tools necessary through Radio Shack for around $30.00. I was a little skeptical about taking on the fix but, it was easier than I thought it would be. Once the new chips were installed the television worked perfectly. I would recommend to anyone who is a D. Y. I type of person to buy a repair kit through tvrepairkits.com. Thankyou. Dale
I ordered and received repair kit a week ago. After inspecting the repair parts i immediately opened a help ticket because they didn't appear to be oem as they bragged about using. Also the password to download all the instructions was bogus and google chrome and internet explorer failed to recognize the web page. I have yet to get a response from their tech support. I have stayed up late each might trying to get on live chat to no avail. I have called their telephone number 4 times and got no answer and no response from left messages to them. Am going to try an rma next but i am not very convinced i'll ever get my money back. What kind of business doesn't answer their phones?
I'm not sure if the amount paid
Was justified by weak tech data
And $10.00 in parts [x2-Convergence Chips & x6 Resistors]
But not being a novice to soldering,
I'm sure the extra $65.00 was worth it to someone
