I purchased this box for my sister's birthday, and she absolutely adored it. I placed an order for two boxes through their website, which was user-friendly and streamlined. Impressively, the delivery arrived a day ahead of her birthday, making the timing impeccable. The box itself, along with the snacks inside, boasted vibrant colors and appealing aesthetics, enhancing the overall experience. We had a delightful time sampling the snacks and engaging in lively comparisons of flavors from different countries.
Arrived late, they sent potato soup mix, chicken flavored ramen, mini container of salt, chocolate covered cherries(milk & dark), chocolate chip shortbread cookies, crème filled wafer cookies, etc. I could have went to the grocery store and got the same stuff a lot cheaper. No one liked any of the products. Also be warned they auto renew even if select a one month trial so Beware and to cancel you must do so by email. Do Not Recommend

Very bad value for the 80 dollars CAD that I paid you are supposed to be able to cancel through a subscription tab but the website does not have one nor can one be found on Google or through any other means! Overall experience and value comes across as being very scammy! Never sent an email to confirm original order (checked spam nothing there either) nor to notify that they were putting another order through likely so they can try to fly under the radar while getting as much money out of you as possible... AVOID!

Terrible customer service and disgusting response. I got this gift for my late grandfather and they auto-renewed the service. I reached out expecting they would make an exception- but NOPE. My grandmother is stuck receiving orders with her late husbands name on them every month until April.

Delayed packages every month, won't cancel your subscription until after it renews and then refuses to refund saying that it has already renewed and there is nothing they can do as they are a subscription based service. Terrible business practice and will not be ordering from them ever again
Hi Tim,

I signed up for the six month option thinking it was a one-off and would end after six months. I didn't see the small print UNDER the purchase button that said I was agreeing to recurring payments. Plus I signed up with a discount code and was renewed at full price, without receiving any courtesy email that $180 would be coming out of my account. I was able to get a refund, but it was a bit of a challenge, so I highly recommend setting a reminder for yourself to cancel your subscription if you don't want to keep it going by accident. Otherwise, the product was fun enough for the time we had it.

Hi Moxy,

Its been over a month and not delivery yet! Or either communication to follow up. Disappointed from a consumer perspective, and wondering how the social media comments are restricted to keep the "positive ones" only… I'll continue to wait, and counting more weeks.
I hope the 1st box, corrects and meets expectations… to be continued
Tip for consumers:
The branding is nice!! Good marketing tool to catch costumers
Hi Herbert,

Where to start, first, I purchased a large box at the beginning of the month but found out soon after that it would NOT ship until the following month so I requested to cancel the order. Instead of allowing me to cancel they said that it would be shipped early and guaranteed to arrive by Christmas Day… it did NOT arrive by Christmas Day. When it did arrive it was a disappointment. I purchased the largest box and the box contained everything from duplicate items to things I wouldn't considered very "worldly". The box contained things like raman noodles and chocolate bars, juice etc. 98% of the things in the box I have seen or purchased before from my area's shops and grocery stores. On top of that, one of the packages was open and spilled all over the box during shipping.
I also emailed the company when the box did not arrive on Dec 25th and received no response from them. I will never recommend them or order again. Try a different company!

Don’t purchase from this company.

Hi DR,

Trytheworld.com is a scam. I placed an one-year subscription in Oct 2023 and the first 2 boxes received contained stale and expired products. There is no explanation of what countries the snacks are from. They seem pretty random and look like they've been at the bottom of someone's pantry for decades. I emailed multiple times to the company's customer service department and ZERO communication back. My credit card company, American Express, got a customer service number for me. I called and that number is not in service *******277 (For those who want to keep trying). I learned my very expensive lesson. This is a SCAM. There is another company that does this, trytheworld is capitalizing on that company's model/similar name. BE AWARE!
Our son gave us a $55 gift box for Christmas. We received cheap candy, an off brand package of ramen noodle, a small bag of chips and a small container of salt. Total cost estimated at maybe $10. Crap! Look somewhere else for a fun gift!
Hi Beth,
Thank you for contacting Try The World. We're deeply sorry if you didn't like your recent box. All of our products are from around the globe and are very unique and hard to find. If you can please send an email to sayhello@trytheworld.com we can go over your account and get this fixed for you. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
I love receiving packages from Try the World! It is so fun to open the box and see what snacks were selected. I just received my box for this month and it looks so delicious. It is hard not to devour everything at once.
Ive got three Try The World boxes as a gift from my family. I'm always very excited to receive beautiful boxes and these three gorgeous packages exceeded my expectation by far. In expensive looking boxes I found great selection of products from three different countries Brazil, Argentina and Mexico. I've impressed my friends with new easy to follow recipes, and serving specialties from abroad. I just love it, and look forward to a new travel experience with my next box.
Extremely, extremely unimpressed. Was supposed to get three boxes from three different countries, but instead got an odd hodgepodge of carby, sugary snacks from who knows what country. They sneakily renewed my subscription without my authorization, and would not offer a refund. AVOID this poor excuse for a company.
After getting rave reviews from friends about this service, I decided to try it for my trip to Paris during my honeymoon. It was absolutely FABULOUS! My husband and I travel a lot, both for work and leisure, and it serves as a sort of travel companion, introducing us to all of the new cuisines!
It's also now become my go-to gift in corporate settings -- it's such a unique gift and actually provides the service of making a work trip more rich, informed, and delicious. I LOVE this idea and it works perfectly for people who travel all the time and want to be well-prepared for every place they visit.
Absolute junk. 'Try the World' is a subsidiary of at least one other snack box seller (Universal Yums) - it's role, seemingly, is to take all the leftovers from the other company(ies) and throw them in a box and then brag about how they "curate" the contents. There is no theme or coherence, just odd items that are not very good. The subscription cannot be cancelled no matter how poor the product, so best just to avoid this one all together.
Tip for consumers:
Always do an on-line review before engaging one of these fly-by-night sellers

Absolute garbage. The company sells itself as a gourmet food/snack subscription & it's a bunch of junk food!
I've received the same items in multiple boxes.
Customer service is nonexistent.
I canceled my subscription 2/8/22 (you can only contact via email) my deliveries were to be stopped & I was promised a refund. I've received 4 boxes since then & 0 refund. Two boxes that I received today have duplicates of the same garbage!
Unethical, awful company!

This company is the biggest joke in food boxes that I have ever seen. Snacks inside are 100% starches, sugars, and carbs. Nothing inside is novel or intriguing. There is also no papers inside explaining any of the foods or providing any context.
The snacks have no discernable theme; I get snacks from different countries in the same box, always the same countries, and from countries like Mexico (which is not exotic to someone who live in the USA). I even get the same exact snacks in consecutive boxes sometimes!
The pricepoint is wayyyyy off as well. Each box contains maybe $5-$8 of food and they charge disproportionately more. Honestly I dont see how this garbage company is still in business.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid this company.

Received this as a gift for Christmas. Subscription was supposed to start in January. It was late which they blamed on the weather. From the package to arrive some of the product was open in the box and smashed. February order never came. It has taken three emails and two phone calls for them to respond. They again blame the weather. Now in the middle of March and still have not received February or March. Trying to get a refund and having difficulty.

Before I go into the list of things that went wrong during my subscription with Try The World, I would like to mention that when I went to customer service with these issues, they were mostly very helpful. And by helpful, I mean they sent me a free apology gift. Additionally, most of their snacks are pretty unique and tasty. Now, here are all the issues I had. I placed my first order in August for a set amount of money, and not only did I have to wait until the September shipment to receive my order, but when they charged me again in September, it was before I even received the first box and for a new on agreed-upon amount. (They changed the price without informing me and charged me twice before I got the first package because they have a weird shipping system.) They also sent me the wrong sized box. After that got sorted out, they forgot to ship me a box in October altogether. To their credit, they did their best to resolve any issue that arose. To continue, when opening the box, you are greeted by a messy display of randomly assorted snacks with no rhyme or reason. Things like upside down packages, and the corners of wrappers curling over the edge of the box. It wouldn't be fair to compare this subscription to another because it would lose so horribly. Speaking of other subscriptions, I noticed that, for once, an item had a sticker on the back translating the text to English. Since Try The World typically doesn't include that step, I looked closer. The product that I found in my box was from the company Universal Yums. They literally re-purposed products from another subscription service. (Universal Yums is definitely a spectacular subscription, by the way.) Now here's the icing on the cake, not one, but several items I received during my subscription were close to, if not expired. It was technically the "best by date" that some of the items had passed, but I would still expect a food purchase to have more shelf life than that. And at least one item was definitely expired. To restate, there are definitely qualities snacks that I had never heard of before and enjoyed, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't worth the hassle. (The photo with the best by date of the two chocolate bars was taken in December 2023.)
Tip for consumers:
I am aware that the initial box was at a discount (I’m pretty sure they are always offering a discount) but the price that it increased to on the next shipment was more than the price that it was supposedly marked down from initially.

Took a very long time to receive first box, but the food options were good. Second box arrived on time but I wasn't crazy about the food this time. I forgot to cancel my subscription, at first they denied my request for a refund, but after I replied they offered me a partial refund. I'd say it's a fun thing to try, but if if it doesn't turn out to be your cup of tea, don't forget to cancel before your renewal. It would be nice if you could cancel on their website vs. having to email them.

I was excited to receive my box after seeing pictures of all the interesting boxes from different countries. What I received was a hodgepodge of five items that looked like it came from World Market. Items: olive oil, coconut oil, Nando's Peri Peri sauce that I can get down the street from my house, peach gummies and Belgium chocolate spread. This is not at all what is advertised. Save your money, do not buy!
Tip for consumers:
Don't
Their (non) Customer Service number rings once and then goes busy-for days now! They also haven't replied to emails. They sent common (think Walmart) items without the nice display box they advertise. We can't even tell what "country" it is supposed to be from. Years ago we tried this and it was good. Not now!
I decided to give this subscription as a gift to my fiancé for Christmas and I purchased my first box on 12/3/20. It is now 2/12/21 and I have yet to receive any boxes and continue to get charged monthly. I've reached out to customer service 3 different times and they tell me the box is being shipped out next week, that obvsiously hasn't happened. I've cancelled the service and asked for a refund but there is silence on the other end in regards to my refund. This is so unacceptable.
I purchased a subscription for my next door neighbors after they saved my cat who got outdoors (we live in coyote country). They have loved every box since! Personally the cocoa in the Paris box is my fav.
I ordered this as a 1 time thing for my family to get an Italian box for Christmas. They never got it even though it was ordered a month before Christmas.
Eventually they received a box and only has Asian foods. It's been 3 months since the first box came and they're all Asian. I also selected the medium sized box and they upped the size to the largest size, thus charging more. Theirs is also no indication as to which country the goods are from.
There's nowhere on the account tab on their website to cancel. I sent an email. Waiting to see what happens.
Tip for consumers:
Read the fine print. If you think you’re signing up to send a friend a food gift box, you might be signing up to send them a gift box every month.
