I wished I looked up the reviews before I purchase from this website...
I think this company is probably in Malaysia or smth, as soon as I wrote an email to them asking about return/refund... they never reply my email again... what a joke

I used this company once, to order a very expensive textbook for my daughter. Within days of placing the order a parcel from textbookw arrived containing completely the wrong book. I contacted them straight away to ask for them to authorise a return and was promised thst a returns label would be dispatched. Weeks and many emails later (mostly from me, and the majority unanswered) we have yet to receive the returns label or the correct book or a refund. What communications we did have from them started off apologetic and vaguely coherent, but towards the end were single line, mostly illiteratemessages (ironic considering this is a company supposedly dealing in scholarly tomes). This company is a disgrace, do not use.

I ordered a book for my gen chem class, and I was happy because I got it for a decent price (80 dollars), but I was also scared because I noticed it was the international edition for the text, but it claimed to be a replica of the normal edition but with a different cover. I then found this website, and became horrified because I didn't know what I got myself into. I was afraid that I just paid 80 dollars and gave my information to a foreign scam site, and I had no known way to cancel the order. I, however, had a excellent experience with this company. I ordered the text book on a thursday, and received it the next monday. I was hesitant to open the package, but I found that it was in wonderful condition except for a small indentation on the book's spine. Otherwise, it was great! I found a preview of the book online, and found that the page numbers are slightly off, but the chapters and questions are all the exact same (mine even has the answers while the other book doesnt muahaha). I was very pleased by my success with this order. I am only giving this website four stars because I may have just had a lucky case since I only attempted one, so this website could still be bad. I probably won't buy from here again due to the anxiety I had that my order was a scam. Best of luck to future buyers!

Order was delivered book had creases on front cover and pages cut out. They have not responded to emails, now seeing these reviews I doubt they will.

I placed my order and paid for express shipping. A week later instead of receiving by order I got an email stating they had just processed my payment and I would receive another email once my package was shipped! I am now behind in my studies, have to purchase an ebook to catch up and hope I can get my money returned.

I bought a Stats textbook from them. I was so happy at first because it was so much cheaper than the original costs and pretty new, but later on in the year I found out that the book was a defective book. I went from chapter 1-18 and then it repeated chapters 1-18, so I didn't have the rest of the chapters. I asked for a refund but they said no. After arguing with them they told me to mail it in and they would refund me for the book and the shipping fees. I paid $60+ to ship it back and finally they were like yes it is a bad book. But they never refunded me for neither the book or the shipping costs. I had to ask my credit card company to refund me the money for the book and was never refunded for the shipping. I kept emailing them (probably more than 10 times) but they just ignored me after and never responded.

Do not give them your information. I am fighting this through my bank. They claim your book is out of stock and have terrible customer service and charge you every chance they get.

After reading these reviews I had my doubts. However I decided to give it a try. This week I received the book I ordered without any problem. For me it worked out just perfect.

Similar to others' reviews, but thought I'd write one anyway to let people know that it's still happening. I ordered a textbook that I needed urgently, hadn't received it by 5 days later, emailed them to see what had happened as order status was "new order", and they emailed back simply saying "Cancelled- out of stock." Terrible reply, and they had not informed me of this before, the order status did not say "cancelled", it said "new order" still and on their website, the textbook did NOT say "out of stock". I wrote a complaint, but they haven't replied. I don't know how to close my account but I hate that they have my card details still. Now they have updated my order status to "order declined", but the invoice says that they have sent the textbook. Very confusing, but if they charge me any money (for the textbook or for 'cancelling' - which I did not do, and that they have done to others) I will be calling one of those tacky TV programs that sorts out companies like this. Bad company. Wish I'd read the reviews first. Stay Away.

I ordered my calculus book through textbookw.Com for $100 cheaper than any other website. I was worried after finding these reviews but I'm glad I didn't decide to cancel my order. I got my textbook in 3 days (from Malaysia to California) & the book is exactly the same as the American version, except for the cover. I'm impressed and I'll probably order from them in the future.

Horrible experience with these people. STAY AWAY! They notified me SIX days after their shopping cart said a book was in stock that they actually didn't have it. They then blamed me for not ordering it soon enough. It's bad enough that they don't even bother to update the inventory (it still shows as being in-stock on their site), but blaming me for their failures? There are too many good textbook sites to waste your time with this company.

I found a book that i needed for a class of mine for a great price. I ordered the book, it showed up and it was the wrong book. I empaled them to send it back and I was told that there would be a 20 dollar restocking fee and hat i had tho send the book back to an address in Malaysia on my own dime.

Website claims that the international version "... book content is 100% the same, page by page and word for word. Printed in original color on high quality paper. Identical to US Edition" This is NOT TRUE. End of chapter exercises are in different order and some are not present. I contend that this product is not what I ordered and tried to return it. The 'customer service' lady, Lisa, was unwilling to pay for return shipping. This company is a HUGE scam - there's no way I'm going to pay $40 to return a $61 book. She even went so far as to suggest I take pictures of the problems from a friends book.

I was looking for a cheap textbook to buy and after having a problem with an out-of-stock notification and not receiving a charge on my card (as other reviewers here have experienced) on textsociety.com, I still needed my textbook, and so came across Textbookw. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE! Both sites have an almost identical layout, and I'm almost positive they are both managed by the same company/person. This stinks of fraud.

I was foolish not to read the reviews before I placed my order. When I did, I worried that I had made a mistake. The next day when I discovered that one of my orders was canceled, it seemed that my situation was turning out the same as many other customers: No book and a charged card. I decided that I wanted to cancel my entire order. I noted that my account said that my package had not shipped yet so I emailed my request. Not only were they happily keeping a cancelation fee, they were rude about it.

I found this website when trying to buy text books for my course in computing. I instantly thought hey great prices and it was fast for delivery. Only after spending £70 on books i found this review site and instantly became worried that i had bought from the wrong site. Turns out my experience was completely different from the other reviews here. I was forwarded to a seller who shipped one of my books by the next day and since had no stock of the other instantly refunded me. Book arrived in fine condition and within a week, I had no problems with this site however i'm still wary of it considering they never supplied a phone number nor did they give a proper email address.

Gave 4 out of 5 because 1 book was said as in stock however wasnt and i felt it was rather dodgy that they never gave a contact number. This website was fine for me however i would probably stick to amazon considering problems others are having

Terrible. Purchased a book and then tried to communicate with them. They do not respond. Even though they are low prices just buy a book else where for an extra $10.00 so it is not damaged.

This is a scam. I ordered book from them for $65 and apparently the book was wrong so i email them to send the book back and get my full refund. They replied my email after one week and finally I returned the book. I ask them to pay for shipping charge while they had wrong information about book online but they said they would pay absolutely nothing. However, I returned my book on my own expense at the end and though i would at least get $65. They only gave me $45 and never told me that they going to cut off $20 for no reason. THIS IS THE WORST ONLINE SELLER EVER I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT SPEND A PENNY ON THIS SITE. YOU WILL BE TRIPPING. FOR THEM IT TAKE 2 WEEK TO RESPOND TO EACH EMAIL THAT IS DISGUSTING.

So, I ordered a book from this site 3 days ago, and still my credit card has not been charged and there is no way of contacting them, except by email. Guess I should of done a simple review search of the company!

They canceled my order without sending a notice... Invoice does not even states payment method... Are they just taking your personal information? I had to cancel my credit card to be safe. This website is scary...

Got the book. Payed. Was charged. And the message was not in stock.

I didn't actually buy a book from them, but I was seriously considering buying from them because of the cheap price (and no shipping!). Something didn't feel right, so I did a google search of reviews for the site and came up with this:

They are based in California, and the BBB has given them an F rating in which they conclude:

"We strongly question the company's reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law's licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company's industry is known for its fraudulent business practices."

In case you're wondering, the F rating is the lowest rating.

I hope I saved somebody some grief. I'm glad I took the time to look them up. I guess just remember that if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is. Good luck in your college textbook search. :)
