“Almost 20 years Still Loving it.”

My band began using this website close to 20 years ago. It does everything a music site should do and more, with Millions of other artists to share and compete with on their daily charts. Because it is independent there is obviously a lot of very amateur music on the site. But lots and lots of incredible Talent as well. You can stream music for free, you can purchase and download music as an artist you can get paid for selling your music on the site.

“FAIL!”

When a website fails to *respect or care* for its artists who made them what they once were? Well, it's doomed to FAIL! They just *deleted* many artists accounts, without giving them a heads up, so what does the future hold for soundcrap, aka soundfail? It will be nothing but a GHOST TOWN website, because they totally BLEW IT HARD! + THEY SUCK!

I use to go to soundclick in 2006 for beats and i thought to go back see what the new generation was coming up with. When i say all out garbage please believe me. The sound of the beats sounds like someone lazy made them or something ive heard before. I need a new site for beats if anyone knows good sites for beats let me know cause soundclick is not it! I REPEAT SOUNDCLICK IS NOT IT!

Well after nearly a decade of a stale interface, soundclick.com has updated their look, but its the same old soundpricks operating the site, which is PAY FOR PLAY
Your career will not be advanced for using the worst audio hosting site of all time

I remember that I had an issue with Soundclick.com a few years ago and every now and then I would think about how rude the Cust Service person was to me. I had an issue with them in 2014 (I did not recognize a second charge on my account). After 2 emails regarding my situation - And No Reply - I disputed the charge. I found the original email from them today 11/29/17 and I would like to share it here. If this situation WAS my fault (?) I still in NO WAY needed to be spoken to like Lady "Byrd" spoke to me on just the very second sentence...

Hello,
We responded to your email in regards to the banner ad on 5/22/14 at 5:56PM Eastern Time (please see the attached email file of that reply for proof). Do you not keep a record of your purchases when you make them, or at least make a mental note of it? Since you purchased two promotions in May, it should not have been hard for you to identify that there were to be two charges that would appear on your statement that month for your purchases. That was not by any fault of ours, and there was absolutely no reason to dispute it with your credit card holder. If you had made several purchases on SoundClick that month, that might be more understandable in having issues with recognizing each individual charge. But you have only made two promotional purchases on SoundClick, so that charge should have been easily recognizable by you. Either way, you still owe us $25.00...

It goes on a bit more but I NEVER paid them the 25 bucks they said I supposedly owed and never went back to them.

This site won't "wow" you. It doesn't have a very sleek interface and it's a bit hard to navigate sometimes. It's been around for quite a long time and not much has changed since it started. That said, there is a LOT of music to listen to. It's original music. You can buy music if you like. It is functionally sound.

If they updated the site with a sleeker, more modern interface, it would go up to 5 stars for me.

REASONS TO USE
[1] Lots of content
[2] Original content

REASONS TO LOSE
[1] Interface is a bit clunky

These guys have a bad rap and not sure why. They have a product and service that's been around for an eternity in this fast paced digital age. I think people expect every free site that has a pay-upgrade option to give away the farm and be a non-profit organization. I have been on the site for over 15 years and the one time I needed help they were right there. I am not affiliated with the owners, not a paid endorser, and not a fake reviewer. Just a recording artist that was glad to have a venue for early music releases when there was NONE.
Big thanks to the SoundClick folks!

SoundClick.com admin are NAZIS. Expect to be discriminated against, expect a holier-than-thou attitude when emailing them, expect unilateral decisions made with YOUR account and YOUR music without any explanation.

SoundClick has been in decline for years, and I could never figure out why until I had to deal with their admin and support staff. They are a shining example of how NOT to run a business/website. Absolutely zero appreciation for their customers.

I enjoy using this site. It`s a great site for singers/rappers/producers/beatmakers to get together. Here you can buy or sell or discover new beats/music.
I wish their layout was a lil cooler though. It looks crappy and boring at first eyesight.

The owner is nice when dealing with customers (Dr. Jekyll), but Ally Byrd (Ms. Hyde) has made the most unprovoked condescending remarks I've ever heard from a customer service rep. It leads me to the conclusion that she either needs to get laid (properly) or get a higher paying job.

Racist, nazi, $#*!ed, outaded... soundclick is the worst place to buy/sell beats, the site looks like the launching 1997 and nothing has been updated to a modern design/template. They still use flash. They bout to sink because someone released a new site like soundclick but better and modern. SoundLyt.com

This site and it's main support person have enabled anonymous defamation and sexual smears to occur twice, propagted by a scottish woman Elaine May Smith, of Stonehaven, Scotland The first instance of Smith sexual harassment and threats is posted online is described here:
Here: http://thetoylanderstpi.com/The_Toylanders/soundclick.html
The second instance is two years later, as Smith adopts the persona Mae B Smith/Auntie Audrie. The nite cap recordings are sexual smears of me, and veiled smears of my wife.
Those recordings are here: http :// www.soundclick. Com/members/default. Cfm? Member=mae%20b%20smith
(see the nite cap selection at the bottom of the page. Smith merged
A childrens story page with these perverse recordings. And exposed children to stories about anal rape, sodomy, perversion, homosexuality, prositution. The actual "proof" of this is written on
A blog.

Byrd has ignored all requests to remove this page. And has actually
Ally byrd of soundclick, has ignored a request fasicilated this page
By separating out the perverse page, and allowing smith to alter it's creation date (something that cannot be done without admin support)
And transfer the stats from the childrens page to the perverted page.
The proofs of two things, the involvement of ally byrd, and the development of the identification of this individuals is here, on a rather long blog that collects all of the evidence over five months.
That blog is here: http://elainesmithstonehaven.blogspot.com/
This is the into page, parts one and two, of the evidence is the short version of the evidence. This intro describes the charactor of the instigator. Elaine May Smith,
This site shows an absolute lack of values for fasciliating persversion, exposing children to it and for allowing sex harassment twice, by Elaine May Smith. They succeeded in getting my complaint removed at the complaint board by operating behind the scenes, like they usually do, and so - if they try to repress free speech here and criticism, I would hope I would be able to see there argument so as to address it. Elaine May Smith is in violation of Soundclicks TOS, but this behavior is also a violation of federal law which states you cannot use the internet anonymously to harass or annoy. The operative principle there, the anomity blocks civil remedies. Smith's identification was many months of hard work, and so the blog is complicated.

I've been a Soundclick member, as both a listener and artist since 2003. They are the oldest music hosting site on the web (since 1997). They did go through a rough patch for a while and needed some updating around the time when a lot of other hosting sites started appearing. This period caused some bad reviews. However, a number years ago they did a remarkable job of refurbishing their site - both for listeners, and for artist administration. Speed, graphics, and useability are all now first rate, and subsequently, they've attracted a lot more high quality independent recording artists. I also like the fact the public can listen to music without having to become members, though there are some advantages to membership.
