I purchased (to me) an expensive knife from SMKW. I had not hers of it before found it while searching for a Certain knife That was sold out everywhere. I decided to go ahead and order it It's hesitant because everyone else was out of it. But I am glad that I placed the order not only did my order come very quickly (2 days) But it was exactly what I ordered and got 2 extra knives as a gift. They have a new customer I will be shopping SMKW for years to come.

I've purchased knives from their website and the retail location in Tennessee. All of my experiences have been great. I ordered several knives before Christmas because of a sale. 1 came in broken and 1 felt cheaper than I expected because of the brand and price. The return process was not terrible. The woman I spoke with was very pleasant and helpful. I will definitely shop more with them.

I also appreciate the exclusive knives and items that they have and their sales. They usually have some custom items that aren't at a terribly high price point either. You just have to keep in mind that this store started before the internet and I think they have a ways to go until they've fully caught up with the way internet commerce is today. It's easy to get mad when you have the Amazon Instant Gratification Syndrome, but not every online retailer can afford that. I'd rather do business with a company like this than a mega corporation.

If you were unsure or nervous about a purchase from them before this, I hope it helped settle your mind. Just keep in mind that you get what you pay for, so if you go too cheap, beware.

I don't understand the bad reviews here. I made my first knife purchase on there internet site. I ordered a Spyderco Para 3. The price was good and was shipped fast. The product was absolutely perfect. I will purchasing again soon.

I was trying desperately to find a particular knife with a magnacut blade; however it was sold out on every single website except for SMKW (I bought the last one).

Prior to making my purchase, I did my homework on SMKW to make sure they were a reputable company. Seeing all of the negative reviews about quality control and customer service almost made me turn them down and wait for the knife to restock at other companies.

I ended up giving them a chance and ordering the knife through their website.

I chose the free shipping via fedex and my knife arrived 3 days later (would have been 2 had there not been a winter storm in my town.)

The knife was absolutely flawless out of the box and the packaging was in pristine condition.

SMKW also sent me a free knife case and sticker.

As far as the negative reviews go, I strongly believe it's simple a "you get what you pay for" type of deal when purchasing a knife.

Great experience, great company, flawless premium knives.

I will definitely be using them in the future.

If you like outdoor equipment, especially knives, they've got it. Once you give them your email address they will send you a notice each time they have a sale of any kind. Their customer service is outstanding, they bend over backwards to satisfy any and all complaints. SMKW = Smokey Mountain Knife Works, f. Y. i. They sell all types of kitchen utensils, jams and jellies, gravies and rues, seasonings, camping gear, work clothing, antique knives, swords, bows, cross bows and etc. along with the brand new designs from knife makers around the world. You can request a catalog there too. They used to have a webcast but I don't know if they still do... where they would show you the knife up close and personal. They sell collectibles like old coins and Indian (feather not dot) arrow heads, civil war relics, and old farm tools. In addition, they carry a complete line of touristy stuff like tee shirts, caps, water bottles, and the usual junkie items. They have items from $5000 to 10 cents. On some occasions postage is free, usually on $50+ of merchandise.

Knife is not sharp, handle is cheaply made plastic, makes awful scratching noise when you take it out of the sheath. Overall just awful.

Is horrible their sales people are lazy and do not care about your orders accuracy or whether you get your order or not. I did not want to go elsewhere to purchase my products. I had to they gave me no choice. My guess is they want to get rid of their long time dealers. They would not let me place a phone order for over 3- weeks keep saying their payment system is down. For 3- weeks yea right. I was born at night not last night.

No order cancellation option and you have to pay for return shipping if you get damaged goods. I will stick to real, reputable, knife sites.

Most of their china knives cost more to ship than the knife itself. So you just throw them in the trash and buy real stuff.

I placed an order while driving late at night and picked the wrong item, many of these items look similar, and tried to cancel first thing the following morning. This company obviously ignored my requests and shipped it anyway! It's my mistake, of course, but I tried to resolve it as soon as I could. I sent 3 emails to two different departments and also tried to call 3 times attempting to cancel the order, starting the very next morning. Each time, I got the same excuse - we are understaffed due to snow and Covid and nobody is here to help you. Why is it the customer is always the one who has to be understanding that Covid is impacting trade! Yes, there is an impact from COVID, it's also the reason I don't have the extra money to pay now to SHIP IT BACK! If you can't properly service the people supporting your business, then STOP SELLING! Now, I don't want to order the correct one from them.
I have to file with PayPal, pay 10.00-12.00 to send it back now with nothing to show for it, take time off work to go to the post office, and then wait for my money to be returned. Thanks for all your understanding during a time when people don't have the money to spend on nothing! You could have cancelled the order, let me order the one I wanted and got the sale, and saved yourself as many negative reviews as I can find sites - but you didn't. I work long, hard hours for my money, like most Americans and I don't appreciate wasting it because you can't properly service a customer.

Since Nov. 2020 I have placed over 50 orders with SMKW. I am a collector and have purchased some orders with a significant price. The quality and value were very noticeable. I highly recommend SMKW for all your sportsman needs. Including hunting, fishing, and camping.
