“Best news and opinion site on the internet”

Ted B.
11/12/22

Dispite what most of the seemingly far-right reviewers say here, Slate does a very credible job of being even handed in both their news reporting and their analysis of what Democrats, Republicans and Independents are doing in trying to sway the country's political direction. Quite unlike a good many far-right "news" sites who don't present verified facts to substaniate their claims, Slate writers and editors stick with the facts as they are known, and will revise stories as more comes to light on issues, and they will also correct themselves when something they've published proves not be factual. The site also provides links to the sources of their information. The majority of their editors and writers may skew center-left in their politics, but they observe a journalistic set of ethics that requires them to vet their reporting.

Just another pro communist rag for liberals to play pretend. They put a fake twist on real news to make their fellow Soviet Komrads (readers) feel better about their society degrading to garbage.

This is a one sided and poorly run "news" magazine. You cannot use this as source material and I would not recommend reading it for anything. It is almost impossible to find anything that even attempts to be unbiased. Slate doesn't even attempt to challenge their own bias, but instead celebrates their one sided pov.

Tip for consumers:
Definitely do not pay for this service. Look elsewhere for unbiased sources.

Used to be good years ago. Had good articles and pretty lively discussions / debates in the comments section.

Quality of writing progressively deteriorated over the years. Articles are now very click baity, make outlandish assertions and fact checkers are asleep at the wheel. The comments section has devolved into a left-wing hivemind, with anyone who dares to disagree with the author even slightly needs to thread lightly, lest they will falsely get accused of "being racist / uncivil" and have their comment deleted. The mods job is basically to protect their authors' frail ego.

Moreover, despite the deteriorating quality of their articles, they now decided to put them behind a soft paywall; which are barely worth reading for free as is. Slate.com is barely one notch better than salon.com; though I might be a bit too generous there.

This toilet paper of a magazine has the nerve to attack OAN (a REAL news agency) and President Trump (a REAL President), when Slate is completely unheard of and must be managed by ANTIFA and BLM members. Lol absolute joke!

I've had a few links to slate articles pop up in my fb feed. They were all so blatantly lefty garbage.

This site is obviously run by biased left wing liberals and feminists. I'm not political in the least. I signed up for an account the other day simply to COMMENT on an article concerning how ALL Southern people aren't racist.

I'm a multiethnic minority from the North who had the opportunity to live in Lawrenceville GA(beautiful place) for a couple years a while back. I was simply agreeing with the author of the article that not ALL Southern people are racist. At least 97% of the people I met in Lawrenceville were not racist in the least. Southerners are very upfront about that sort of thing unlike those in the North.

Not only was my comment NEVER published by these biased God hating racists, but every time I visit the site and try to comment ANYWHERE I end up on my profile page. I could only READ the articles. But the 'liberals' who were attacking Conservatives, Christians and Conservative Christians had no problem getting their responses out. Coincidence? I think not.

If you are a God-fearing racially harmonious Christian DO NOT join or even visit this site. Liberals are Nazis who call ANYONE racist(even when they're not) for believing in God, supporting traditional marriage, family values, Godly values and for loving and supporting men.

It's THEIR way or the high way. NO THANKS Slate Group! This Jesus loving, commandment following, racially mixed, racially harmonious, misecegenating man lover WILL NOT be using YOUR SITE EVER again. 'Liberals' are TRUE FASCISTS and reflect Hitler and the Nazi Party in every way!

It's alright. I like the contrarian attitude of the writers, but I can't stand the commenters. It doesn't matter what you say-- whether you are nice or mean, whether you agree with the author or you don't, someone always says something they think is witty and meant as a jab to you. I don't get it! Am I missing something? That's why I don't even comment anymore. And if I don't comment, why read it?
