I paid for a tadpole on 8/10/2013..Haven't seen it yet ..Can't find the website to get refund or answered questions..My daughter really wants her tadpole..
Well I ordered my tadpole December 26th and it is February 13th. I haven't gotten an email or anything about when I should receive my tadpole. (Embarrassingly) I have been super excited about getting a tadpole and it has taken forever. So, I go just now to email them and ask what is up...THEIR WEBSITE NO LONGER EXISTS! Says their domain expired January 30th. We shall see if that means they will renew it.
Now the little "coupon" says 4-6 weeks. And I expected with the horrible cold the midwest is experiencing that I probably wouldn't get my tadpole on time. But no email conformation at all. And nothing on their website, which is now down. UGH. I recommend not spending $10 (i bought food too) and go to a pond and get your own tadpole or something.
I placed an order from Rabbits Galore on May 10, 2012 for Caterpillers and have NOT recieved them yet. In a few days it will be a month since I placed my order. I'm very upset because my son was going to bring them into school to go along the life cylce unit they were learning about. This is clearing not going to happen. They did take my money on the first day though. I read the reviews on this site before ordering and against my better judgement I placed the order. Please listen to me and DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE. I have contacted them and I'm still waiting for a response because they do not give a contact #.
I have ordered two butterfly habitats with the caterpillars, two ant farms with ants, and a frog habitat with the tadpoles. The critters did take a little long to arrive, but they were in good shape and a replacement for the dead ones were sent promptly. My sons and I had a ball watching them develop and thrive. I would recommend these guys any day.
I ordered a Frog Habitat from Discovery Kids Store for my daughter for Christmas, when I received it, I found that they put a card in their product for ribbitsgalore, and it stated I had to order my tadpole separately for an "additional" charge. I emailed ribbitsgalore to order the tadpole and learned I had to order food for an "additional" charge. It took 3 months to receive her tadpole; she looked for it everyday, and 3 months is a little ridiculous for a child to wait. When it came, we read all instructions and we very careful to do exactly as we should; within three weeks, the tadpole died. My daughter was devasted, after waiting so long and trying so hard to do everything right, and it dies.
So I looked at customer reviews afterwards on the discovery kids website and most customers that their tadpoles either arrived dead or died within a few days.
Also, the habitat had a slow leak (this is not what caused it to die) as not enough water leaked for this, but it still leaked, and I later saw on the reviews that most customers leaked!
