My new glasses lasted just two wearings, second time a plastic clip departed from arm. Contacted PG's told to return, I did. Email from them saying broken to fair wear and tear but would replace for a further £40. Declined and asked for return of glasses and stated that I was a little disappointed in their response as it was just a plastic clip that had popped out. Return email from them saying that I should get them repaired by my local optician and glasses would be sent within the next 1-2 days. After 2 weeks phoned them as to ask where my glasses were, told will be sent tomorrow. Today, nearly a month later glasses returned....not repaired of course.
Steer well clear of this company, unless of course you have money to throw away.
I should have taken the advice of the TV advert "should have gone to Specsavers"

Don't use them! The workmanship is rubbish and the customer service is non-existent. If you have ordered and want to return items get them sent signed for and keep the receipt!! Then escalate a claim through paypal - it seems to be the only way to get your money back; that's what I did.

My experience with the company has been excruciating to say the least, and eventually led me to report them to the trading standards. Long story short, the company has absolutely no regard for quality and it is not a UK company as the website claims. There is no physical office at the address listed on the website. All correspondences are forwarded to an address in India. For those who are interested, here's a timeline of what happened:

1) April 7: placed order for one pair of designer glasses and another complimentary pair
2) April 22: in response to my email inquiry, replied that 'I can confirm that your order is ready and it will be dispatched within 2-3 working days'
3) April 28: still no sign of glasses and called customer service--was informed that the delay was due to glasses failing quality checks. (I thought the order was ready?????)
4) April 30: three weeks after the order was placed, they decided to tell me that the complimentary pair was no longer in stock--'I regret to inform you that we are currently unable to fulfill the order you placed with us as we discovered that the frames you ordered, of which we had only 1 left in stock when you placed your order, are in a damaged condition and unfit for use.'
5) May 4: received the designer pair and the complimentary pair also came about a week later. Felt disorientation wearing them but thought it was normal since this was a new prescription.
6) June 1: finally gave up trying to get used to the new glasses and took them to my optician (should have done that earlier but I was busy with exams and I wear contact lenses during the day). Was told the pupillary distance was off by about 10mm. Sent the glasses back for replacement the next day.
7) June 30: after the usual delays, one of the replacement pair was received. To my consternation it was still off. This time the PD was off by 8cm. Not bad, just give them 4 more attempts and they will finally get it right
8) July 1: I went to their office address and only found a company that leases out mailing addresses. Asked the clerk and was told the forwarding address for perfectglasses is in India.

I have spoken to Consumer Direct and the company is currently being investigated by the Trading Standards.

Terrible company - one of the worst i've come across. One of the lenses of my glasses just split into 3 pieces while sitting on my sofa and for no reason. Reported it to trading standards on grounds of safety who are now investigating.
Ovbiously a serious lens manufacturing issue (what would have happened if it had gone in my eye).

Company (some one supposedly called Nancy but with an accent) just didn't want to know when I complained they just hung up the phone on me!

Complete rip-off of a company. The lenses are not made to any acceptable standard, the 'designer' frames are either seconds or fakes, you will not be happy with your glasses, and will fail to get a refund, or even a reply to emails.

unbelieveably poor. after lots of bad service, a request for a premium because my prescripion was so complex (something that my opticians over the last 33 years had neglected to mention), long waits, no refunds, back tracking and generally making life difficult, i got my glasses. a mere 6 weeks after placing the order and having paid.
yesterday, after 6 weeks of wearing them, the frame snapped and cannot be repaired. their customer service lady said that there would be no refund as this was due to normal wear and tear. i should point out that i am a rural mum, not given to wild parties or bear wrestling or anything else that in 6 weeks might be expected to break a pair of glasses. i now have a pair of lovely, ultra light, reactolite lenses that i cannot use and cannot refit to a frame.
i would have to conclude that any positive reviews must be false. the internet is littered with reviews stating similar problems to mine, and if i could give this company a negative rating, i would. AND IT WOULDN'T TAKE ME 6 WEEKS TO DO SO.

Avoid this shop.
poor quality lens.

I order prescription glasses with my current prescription that I completed my another glasses (and it no problem), but the problem occurred from their poor quality process and materials.

They claim that they have 100% guaranty on all products. But when problems happen, they just said not their fault and cannot give any refund.

Summary: Okay... but be very careful! Little bit dodgy.

I got what I ordered after three weeks. They take an incredibly long time to deliver glasses. Also, don't give them your main email because they appear to either sell your email to other vision companies, or use their sister websites to spam you. You can expect to get several emails a week from a range of companies after signing up, even if you didn't request it.

I have used this company three times for re-glazing existing frames and, apart from the long 28-day wait, was reasonably happy with the results, esp as they are cheaper than most.

I am pleased to have recieved my new varifocal glasses from them. Despite all the negative reviews that I read on the Internet, I can say that I have received excellent service from them. The glasses were packed very carefully and arrived in prime condition and I am very happy with the result. I have already recommended them to my friends and family.

Great glasses at less than half the price that I would have paid to any high street optician. The delivery did take a couple of weeks but I guess it was worth it. The quality was better than what I expected at that price.

I placed an order for two identical pairs of glasses. The money was deducted from my account immdediately. Then received an email, an extract of which follows:-
'I regret to inform you that we are currently unable to fulfil the order
you placed with us as we discovered that the frames you ordered, of which we had only 1 left in stock when you placed your order, are in a damaged condition and unfit for use. We sincerely request that you to browse through our website once more and choose an alternate frame of your liking of the same price, and we shall go ahead and process your order accordingly.'

I took this to mean that they had one damaged pair in stock and so couldn't complete. My reply to them :-
'Unfortunately there no alternate frames in your product range of the same price that I like. So I will have to cancel the order.'

I received a further email containing a link to another set of glasses on their website. Once again I replied asking to cancel my order and to process a refund.

To my surprise I received the following from them:-
'The order for 1 pair has been processed; we have forwarded the refund
request for the second pair of glasses the same will be done within 1-2
working days.'

The following is taken from my reply:-
'I state now categorically that I want no part of the order. I have informed you twice that I wish to cancel and it seems you have ignored this. I further ask that you refund any and all monies deducted from my account. '

I also phoned them and after many attempts managed to get through. Reiterated that I wanted to cancel the full order, not in part. A manager phones me back and I go through the whole process with him. It took some time to communicate my position because english was the second language of both persons I talked to. I was eventually told that a refund would be issued immediately.

Imagine the surprise when, a week later, I received a repeat communication telling me that a part of my order had been processed, and a partial refund would be issued for the pair they couldn't supply.

After another round of emails I receive a reply telling me that a refund request will be sent to their accounts department to process the monies deducted back to my card. All this when a week earlier I'd been assured that the refund was to be issued immedaitely.

In summary, (and in my opinion), this experience represents all thats bad about internet shopping.
1. PerfectGlasses take your money immediately without first ensuring they are in a position to fulfill the order. Any reputable online company will first process your order to check their stock, and and the very best deduct from your card only when the order is ready to be despatched.
2. PerfectGlasses support is totally incapable of dealing with the most basic administration requests, both by email, and over the phone.
3. Once PerfectGlasses have your money they keep hold of it for as long as possible. I'm still waiting from mine to be refunded.

An absolute waste of time and most likely a con website! I ordered some prescription sunglasses that i was told would be with me in 3-5 working days, After many phone calls and e-mails and 3 months of waiting I have still not recieved my sun glasses or my money back although i requested it on many occasions. I would suggest everyone stay well away from this website!

This one has a murky sort of background, or a confusing one, at any rate. The site registrant is Perfect Glasses Limited, a UK limited company which gives its company number as 05873896.

However, although there is a registered company with that number, it isn't Perfect Glasses Limited, whose registration number, according to Companies House, is 06781015.

The record for this site gives the company address as 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3XX, though there is no such company at that address. However, the owners of company number 05873896 do list that as their address. Though there seems to be no such company listed at that address other than at Companies House. There are however about seventy other companies listed there.

Perfect Glasses, though, according to their company registration, are at 26 York Street, London W1U 6PZ, which seems to be a mailbox and telephone answering service. Curiouser and curiouser.

Going back to the owners of company registration number 5873896 (do keep up, there will be a test later), which Perfect Glasses incorrectly shows as their registration on the website records, the name of this company is MAK Media & Creations, which by coincidence is exactly the same name as a similar company in India, and which has nothing to do with selling spectacles. Though in passing I noted that they are currently making something of a spectacle of themselves out there at the moment, as they've allegedly been caught using unlicensed copies of Corel Draw to make porn movies. I would have gone for Photoshop, myself, but there you are. Anyway this is all in passing and entirely coincidental. The directors were released on bail, their lawyers claiming they'd been framed. Get it? Framed. Glasses. Oh never mind.

Does Perfect Glasses have some good advice to offer us? Well yes, they do. I turned to the page on "natural methods to improve eyesight", wherein I read that special exercise routines "not only takes care of your vision but improve them (sic) too."

But is it true? Opinion seems to be widely divided. Wikipedia, for example, observes that:

"Do-it-yourself eye exercises are claimed by some to improve visual acuity by reducing or eliminating refractive errors. Such claims rely mainly on anecdotal evidence, and are not generally endorsed by orthoptists, ophthalmologists or optometrists."

and cites Rob Murphy, Marilyn Haddrill (December 2006). "The See Clearly Method: Do Eye Exercises Improve Vision?" ( AllAboutVision.com. http://www.allaboutvision.com/buysmart/see_clearly.htm) and Worrall, Russell; Nevyas, Jacob ; Barrett, Stephen (April 2009). "Eye-Related Quackery" ( Quackwatch. http://www.quackwatch.com/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/eyequack.html)

And yes, according to Perfect Glasses, carrots should be at the top of your shopping list, too.

Moving on, there's also a page here entitled "Tips For Buying Cheap Prescription Glasses -you Might Not Have Heard About". Well, you might not have heard about them if you hadn't already seen the identical text at Zimbio.com and Eyekeep.org, that is.

I practiced eye exercises reading the page at

http://www.bitterwallet.com/eyeexperts-co-u-is-a-shambles-says-bitterwallet-reader/32235

which alleges that Perfect Glasses, along with "at least" ExclusiveEyes.co.uk, EyeExperts.co.uk, and Glasses Experts, are all owned by the Keswani brothers. You remember that company in India where the guys got arrested and then released on bail for not paying their software dues and making porn videos on the side? Yep. And a quick look at the records shows that the name servers for these British companies are in India, coincidentally enough.

Well, I was bored and there was nothing good on TV. I wish I could recommend a better place in the UK to buy cheap specs, but I'm in the USA now. Maybe someone else can add some recommendations here?
