“Mediafire reliabillity”

christopher k.
2/12/21

I have been a many years paid user of Mediafire, and called for help the first time today. Being email assistance, I thought it would be a wait. I had a reply with suggested solution in less than an hour. Problem was completely solved. I cannot imagine how the negative reports can be happening. As I said, many years with no problem, then when I did get one it was fixed so fast. If ads annoy you, just kick the tin, and become financial. They spend a lot of money keeping things going. I have been a paid member since I joined originally. I don't have a proof of purchase, too long ago. I will attach my help docket.

“MediaFire Allows Stolen Material To Be Shared and Doesn't Act When Told”

Simon L.
9/23/21

Media Fire hosts stolen materials on it is website. We have complained to them for over a year but they have not responded. We have sent them repeated DCMA takedown requests and filled out all of the appropriate forms. Not only to they host our stolen material they host the stolen material of dozens of online art schools. This of course means in the end they are stealing from teachers and artists who otherwise could make an income on this material. This is a disgraceful act especially since they have been alerted to the crime many times and have failed to act. Media Fire is what is wrong with the internet.

I've tried a variety of cloud services and I have found Mediafire the most reliable. I have been pleasantly surprised that viewing media has been no issue... typically there are speed issues with most services.

After seeing dropbox destroying download links, this seems okay at avoiding this.

I've realized it is not the site's fault for having malicious ads (which is why I gave a higher rating than before), as it is the ad network prone to attack. Thanks to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgs8h2pu-1I instead of clicking on the true download button (I said true because ads can be deceptive on the display) you would right-click on it instead and "save link as" or something similar (I'm using Google Chrome by the way). Just make sure your browser is up to date and so is your anti-malware software.

I would rather have anti-malware and avoid triggering ads than to use an ad-blocker because using ad-blockers could cause the site to do what photobucket have done.

I do dislike when ads do these following:
-Popups, and new tabs being opened.
-Do anything else besides closing when I wanted to close if it is a in-window box that prevents me from using the site (fake close buttons are examples of this)
-Redirects to any scam sites (tech support scams, congratulations), Amazon cards or just about any site.
-Drive-by downloads.

But I do dislike when sites be fallen because of the overuse of ad blockers AND that nobody is reporting them, causing attacks to be secret and makes this entire situation even worse.

If you are a professional anti-malware company that voluntarily help with websites be safe (I'm looking at you, malwarebytes), please at least weekly check this site' ad network. It's a popular site and that can be a big target for a large number of users.

They (on MediaFire) know who I am. I was one of their old users, since 2004.
I used to store files and download them from the site from time to time; but in the beginnings of this year, trying to look for my old files, I never found them.
The most terrible thing is that now (November 2019), I can't even access the site.

Great file shearing service but :( is ban in many countries. I mostly use this service to share designs with my clients. And so sometime they can't open it.

Probably the cleanest and easiest to use filesharing/storing site out there. I want to say more, but there really is nothing else to say. Its just super simple, clean, and quick. A great filesharing site in an internet full of cluttered and sketchy filesharing sites.

Basic accounts' links have a lot of ads (including popups), computer newbies may fail to download the expected file(s) and got tricked by the scam ads.

Online file storage doesn't get easier than this, in my experience anyway. Unlimited uploading and downloading are available for free, and you don't even need to create an account. Plus as long as you use the same computer, your files are remembered and you can save them in folders even if you have no account.

If you want something more than a 200mb per file limit, any of three pro packs will give you 10Gb per file, with increasing hotlinking and other bonuses as you buy bigger and better. Top of the line facilities include enough space to store and manipulate a couple of million documents or at least a half million mp3 files - a terabyte of storage, in fact. This doesn't come without a deluxe price - $70 gets you all the bells and whistles, but you can still get onto the pro ladder and get that 10gb file size limit for as little as $9 a month.

If you want to keep your money but also want more convenience, even a free account allows you to handle your files from any computer, anywhere. The only major restrictions are that free users have to get their downloads via the mediafire site, and the file size is lower. Paid users of any flavor can share direct hotlinks and get that chunky 10gb file option.

In practice, using the service as a free and account-less user is perfect for occasional needs. 200mb isn't huge, but still isn't stingy either and unless you're uploading movies or entire CDs or big graphics, it will serve for many uses. You remain anonymous and yet can still find and organize your files as long as you use the same device to upload, and don't delete your cookies.

If you want to pass along files that are too large for email, but not above that 200mb limit, this is as easy as it gets. Recommended.

I like many others, did not signup for a monthly charge it was supposed to be a one-time fee. I then get charged a monthly fee. At one point I had to upgrade to even get the option to cancel the account. I could not reach support, when they finally responded they would not refund my money. There were a lot more steps involved in trying to cancel this account. I think they make it difficult to cancel on purpose.

ABSOLUTELY NO POINT IN SPENDING A. N. Y. MONEY BUYING A "PRO" SUBSCRIPTION! These people just made an upload site, and try to sell a service without providing ANY support for it. If it doesn't work (a LOT of things, like the 1-time download links they advertise they have!), you can email them, but all you'll ever get is automated replies. AT BEST, you MAY get a human to reply at SOME POINT (...), but all you'll get from him/her is a "standardized" reply sending you a doc or link of instructions (which was already available on their site before you wrote to them...). So, essentially, that too is an "automated" reply! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE, THEY WILL TAKE IT AND GIVE YOU NOTHING BACK.

I did not signup for a monthly charge; it was supposed to be a one-time fee.
I then get charged every month - so I try to get in touch and they have no way to contact them. Their site's "contact us" section conveniently has a bug.
I've eventually had to cancel my card they were using to end the monthly charges.

I will not use any site that uses trickery to get a person to sign up for an account and then won't let you delete the account for seven days. I foolishly thought I was downloading a printable pdf from a website and I suddenly had a mediafire account. If they can't capture business with legitimate advertising then I want nothing to do with them. that is my opinion.

I know you 'get what you pay for' and boy did I with the "FREE" version. Not only did I download what seemed to be a cumbersome application for plan reviews, but I also downloaded TEN (10) infiltrations to my WINDOWS operating system as well. My virus scanner was able to 'clean' these infiltrations, but the four hours I used this software were a complete nightmare for me, turning me off from ever considering a PURCHASE of any version of MediaFire. I see other reviews stating 'no viruses' but that was NOT my experience.

I love this website! No viruses, no waiting time, no account needed. I always try to get this website if I want to download a file. Its nice and doesn't seems sketchy. The only down part is that the website isn't really searchable. You have to know the song you're looking and then you have to search it on a separate search engine. I would really like to give this website 4 and 1/2 stars though! :D
