Yes, I like rope and I cannot lie :) We generally order something new every month or other month and they are my go to place for quality goods. They are usually quick to respond to questions (if it is a busy time or holiday season, etc they may take longer to respond but I always get a response. If you are using yahoo, check your spam mail. My partner wasn't receiving any responses to inquiries and found they all ended up there!) They are a small company with a few employees so not some corporation and you receive an email from a "real" person. They also support the community. When I attended an event not too long ago, they had donated a basket of goodies for the auction and it brought in big bucks. Their website is really in depth on the different types of rope they offer (I wish they would bring back all the wood items they use to sell like custom floggers, canes, paddles and such. They had some really beautiful items but I heard from a friend that their main woodworker passed away which is why they now sell just rope :( Their prices are great, some of the best out there for the quality. Yes, processing/shipping can be slow. If you are the type of person that wants to pick something off a shelf and go, then you will be disappointed in waiting. Everything is made to order or handmade per their website. It really depends on what you order I think on how fast you receive it. I've ordered jute and had it shipped in a couple days. Silk and Bamboo, about a week - 2 weeks later (which is standard) Hemp takes the longest but it says it will on their website. I've had items come super quick and others take about a month to arrive but in the end, I always receive it, know its made to my specifications and its perfect. Quality takes time IMHO. They take custom orders too and I have some really beautiful custom dyed rope that I gave to friends for Xmas last year and they loved it. Overall, 4 stars (would give 4.5 if there was an option) in my book.

It's been over two months since my credit card has been charged. It took 3 weeks to send to the shipping department. It has been submitted to usps for drop off for over a week. Maybe I would be better off filing a fraud case, getting my money back and going elsewhere.

Placed an order on June 13th. Updated order on June 23rd. The order never changed to "sent to shipping" until first week of August. At the end of the first week of August it changed to "shipped." We paid for 2-4 day express shipping. Our order has never arrived, never received a tracking number. No response to emails or calls even though we know other people have received a response. At this point we're looking into reversing the charges on our card as we believe they are purposely dodging communication with us.

Mauikink is legit. I have an order of rope here from them that I ordered about 2 months ago. The customer service rep was sweet and very helpful, took down my custom order.

If your order takes a while to come, especially during holiday rush periods, don't be alarmed, like I was. It will come... eventually. In fact, the custom part of my order is still hanging out somewhere, be it still at their facility or somewhere in the postage system.

They don't seem very good at giving out tracking numbers either, but I like the idea of supporting an American small business, so such things aren't a huge issue.

What I do like alot about the people that run the website is they are active in the community, you can find them on Fetlife and they keep folk updated on what is going on with their company. They have recently posted an update that they are moving from Hawaii to mainland (Idaho I think? Or Illinois?). Just a heads up so that you don't see a different state on a statement and think "Oh man, I'm getting scammed cuz these folk aren't even from Maui!"
