I enjoy telling others experience with local establishments ad where not to go, as well as "highly" recommended!
Posting rouge info, unknown photos, incorrect map locations, showing duplicate locations that do not exist. Its intentionally executed to blackmail us in to paying services to fix their false issues they ilegally created - to collect money. I guess we can all do these type of business practices now, its all good in USA

a class-action lawsuit would be appropriate
Thanks to "mapquest" I could not attend My Nephew's funeral due to mapquest horrible directions! I was so saddened and heartbroken. Mapquest directions first started by saying that it would take me only 1 hour and 30 minutes from My home to My destination when in reality it took Me over 3 hours! As mapquest sent me through the longest way to get to My destination! And thanks to them I could not make it on time for My Nephew's Service :( Memories like this can never be replaced. I would and will never recommend this website for any kind of directions! As I found out from another website "google maps" In fact that My trip would take "over 2 hours" and not 1 1/2 hours like mapquest informed me of and especially when mapquest had sent me through the heaviest traffic directions causing me to miss such a special event in My life which I can never relive. I am so very disappointed in mapquest! If possible and if I could I would sue mapquest! That's how upset I am with this website! :(
Tip for consumers:
Yes! if you want to get to your destination on time and the right way? Don't Use Mapquest ever!!

I have used mapquest for many years, inspiring disbelief and snide jokes from my children about being a Luddite. Well, the dang site is now almost impossible to use. You type in a good address and it is clueless. So, after three attempts just now to get directions to a site near my home here - using the correct street addresses - in San Antonio, I give up. You guys are losers. JXM
SiteJabber founder one: "Hey! Let's make a Yelp-like site, but for other web sites!"
SiteJabber founder two: "Wow! That's a great idea!"
- the only problem is that unlike most restaurants and bars, other web sites have help available on-line and methods to contact them on their site, too. Stop wasting your time here and go to the sites (like mapquest.com) and use their customer service portals to complain about your experiences. It will actually reach someone who cares.
When I type into the address fields, many of the letters that I type are skipped. This isn't happening when I type a document, or anywhere else - just the mapquest website when entering addresses. Also, it used to be able to make better guesses if you didn't get the address quite right, but now it just plays dumb. It's way less user friendly in July of 2022 than it was when I last used it - maybe a month or two earlier. Booo! To changes that aren't an improvement.

If something isn't working for you, let them know - otherwise, how will they know to fix it?

The ads/banners are extremely irritating. Some companies never learn the lessons of history, or maybe they getting paid by their competitors to showcase how bad things are on the other side.
Mapquest has the address listed for my business while all the other search engines show the correct address. On Mapquest website, I attempted to claim my business to change the address myself but it took me out of their website to an advertising website that lean me nowhere fast.
So I went back to MapQuest and looked up the contact us page and again Ii attempted to contact them for help. No matter what I enter in the form it says that my request is flagged as suspicious spam and it won't send it.
There is no Chat, no phone number, no ability to send a message. How do they run their business.
This guys ripoff! I have called a day before and setup the appointment and when the Locksmith Pros came and opened 2 locks and changed them Tom Locks form Locksmith Pros charged us $800. Beware of who you call get a price or ales they rip you off!
Tip for consumers:
In the event you want to request service from them , you need to get exact price or ales they charge you more than $500 for opening a lock and change!

It takes forever to work and if you are planning a route forget it, this tool should be erased. Fix your website or get off the web
When making travel plans with multiple stops the old mapquest gave you the time and distance for each stop. This was very useful and the new version does not do this. The new version is no good to me because of this.
I travel all over and Mapquest USED to the best to route my trips. Now I can't move my routes so that I can efficiently see what I want to see and the routes I want to take, the way Google Maps does, but Mapquest was WAY better at letting me move and choose my route than Google Maps. The site now makes users SPECIFICALLY choose something and sometimes it can take 5-8 attempts until it does what the user wants. Change it back because Google Maps does not let users pre-plan trips, especially in National Parks. You can't plan a trip to Yellowstone or Glacier if you're planning in January to go in July because the roads are closed and Google forces an alternate route that cannot be changed.
I used MapQuest to route two destinations on a round-trip drive. It told me the fastest route was taking over nine miles of side streets, instead of the freeway. I checked the same destination order on Waze and it was SO much faster and more logical.
If you want to know the order of multiple destinations, MapQuest can tell you where to stop first, second, etc. But, DO NOT follow the route it gives you. Use Waze, instead, by adding your second stop first, then enter your first stop, hit go, and choose "add a stop". That way Waze will make your "add a stop" location as your first stop and the other address as your second stop. Plus, you'll complete your drive a whole lot faster.
MapQuest used to be great a long time ago. Seems like lately they have so many incorrect business addresses and sometimes mapping businesses to houses. It's very strange andmakes MapQuest unusable.
Place was nice General Manager Zach was talking how horrible his direct boss was and low grade they make him run this hotel. Get new employees
For the last hour, I have been trying to get driving directions. No avail. Too many damn ads. If you want to find out how to get somewhere, don't use Mapquest.
Tip for consumers:
That the app doesnt works
I used to rely on mapquest a lot for planning travel. But now, the ad pop-ups are so distracting and annoying I'm likely going to delete it. It's also far less user friendly than it used to be. Very disappointing. Sold out to advertisers.
Mapquest always always gives directions that take you around the world to go down the block. I prefer to use navigation on my cell or a separate car GPS
Honestly, what is Mapquest? It does not work on iOS very well, so it might just be me. But, put in address and there is a bottom part of the map showing, confused with junk adds (that are not collapsable at all). Useless. Forget about directions - no place to even try. This is just one big advertisement for nothing that even makes sense. Awful awful awful!
Another review for sitejabber - after I send this review, I will block you as you require me to sign up for even more advertising and, even though denied, the expectation is you will use or sell my info.
Tip for consumers:
Show a map. Your name is Mapquest, not Adquest. Or just change your name to Advertising Minefield.
Enter address MQ keeps changing it, pick walking - keeps sending driving instructions, map print unuseable, reset map - messes up printing directions.
It constantly sends you in the wrong direction. I will be using Google maps from now on. It is a piece of junk
Mapquest used to be good. You could put in an address and it would show you the place and the surrounding area and you could find what you want.
Now It shows you the state or country and you have to navigate to where you want.
Also, the sidebars are no longer useful.
Has anyone a GOOD map to recommend?
I can get walking/driving directions but no transit directions. This is useless. This is useless and it wants me to keep saying that until my review is long enough to be helpful. Is this long enough? It's still useless.
I am horrified! What a mistake I made with downloading the Mapquest app on my Windows 7 PC. Now everything is INFECTED.
Even when I logged into sitejabber my screen was filled with a pop up (photo2) When I tried to set up shipping zones for my shopify store a total screen popup appeared.(photo 1) This app invades everything!
Yesterday the upper right pop up gave me an "opt out" option but when I tried it wouldn't let me opt out. Today that doesn't even show. I tried looking under programs to uninstall but it doesn't show up there. It is stealthy. This is a nightmare! I'm so mad at myself that I mindlessly downloaded it.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away!
I asked Mapquest for directions from my home to Poe Paddy State Park, near State College Pa. The route provided sent me over a mountain on a rock strewn trail, not a road, with my RV in tow. It took me three hours to cover ten miles of trail. I could not turn around with the RV in tow and damaged parts of the RV undercarriage. Mapquest is a very dangerous piece of software.
