UPDATE (15/04/2010): Moneybookers.com have just provided me (as promised after 5 business days) with a full refund and they are investigating Magicase.co.uk for fraud.
I purchased a hard drive from magicase.co.uk on the 30/3/2010. The item was listed on google product search. I looked at the ebay link and website layout and thought it to be genuine. I even looked online to see if it might be a fraud and found nothing. So i paid for the item using moneybookers.
I realised it was a fraud when i got my tracking number. I'm now trying to claim my money back via moneybrookers and my bank.
It made me feel like an idiot especially when i'm a computer security consulatant and normally very careful about what i buy online. They have changed the website in recent days removing some of the pages and changing the layout.
I will continue to try and get my money back and get the website shut down. Write back on your progress .
LATEST UPDATE (16/4/2010)
======================
Managed to get my money back from moneybookers.com after lodging a complaint. They successfully refunded my £65 that i paid using my Visa debit card.
The website was reported to both my local police station and consumer direct. I also contacted the domain operator and nominet, however they refuse to shut down the website unless they are told to do so by either trading standards or the police.

EDIT - 17/4/10
this is my most recent contact from money bookers:
"We are sorry for the situation you experienced with this particular merchant. Please note that Moneybookers is an intermediary party and as such can perform refunds only if the funds are still available in the system.
Unfortunately, in your case the funds already has left the system at the time of completion of your investigation on the case."
[UPDATE!]
EKM Powershop have suspended the site.
------------------------------------------------
This is clearly a get rich quick fraud site. The site was only set up (from domain information) on 10th March 2010. You will find that Google checkout has been disabled, I then used moneybookers who so far have been helpful in trying to recovery my money.

A quick summary of what happened to me:
Bought an item from Magicase.co.uk
The website has a link to the feedback for eBay user Magicase_Digital
on ebay
Looked genuine so bought item with Debit Card via moneybookers.com.
Received email with Parcel Force Tracking Number - Tracking number
does not exist and was the wrong format.
Emailed 3 times for explanation - no reply.
Called customer service line 2 times - left message - no reply.
Contacted eBay user - he has no involvement with this website and has
had previous people contact him with similar issues.
Checked domain registration - Registration address is a non existent
house on a road in London, not in St Albans as per the website
address:
Domain name:
magicase.co.uk
Registrant:
leroy wolfe
Registrant type:

Registrant's address:

Reported matter to Police Internet Fraud Team, Moneybookers and my
Bank.
Magicase is not a registered company on Company's House.
Horrendous. Very amateurly-designed website. Think that's bad enough?
It gets even worse.
I saw a product that I fancied so I go to the relevant page for it. First of all, it doesn't give an exact stock level, but instead just states that the product is "available". Wow, that's not fishy at all is it?
When I tried to use the site's checkout, it didn't even work; The "Payment Details" section of the form was incomplete so I couldn't choose a card type or enter my card's details. Upon reading these reviews that is probably a good thing.
Frustrated, I sent a calm and polite email to them; it has been 2 weeks and I still haven't had a reply. I'm doubtful that I'm going to get one.
Quite clearly it's a scam. Avoid.
Same thing has happened to me.
Purchased a soundcard from these crooks on 31st March. Got all the emails, paid through Moneybookers.com. Looked good and job done.
Got a email 24 hours later saying it had been shipped but the tracking reference is 4 digits too short for Hermes Europe who have denied continuously that they have a parcel for me.
Sent several emails to Magicase and got one reply from someone called "Jon" telling me the tracking is now working. No "Jon", it isn't working, you blind $#*!.
Now going through the recovery services of Moneybookers.com to get my dosh back. Moneybookers.com state the email they have on file for this bunch of tossers is wwppadore@live.co.uk. Feel free to bombard them with your opinions.
UPDATE @ 14:00 (14/04/2010): Moneybookers.com have just provided me (as promised after 5 business days) with a full refund and they are investigating Magicase.co.uk for fraud.
These people are total scumbags who will rip you off.
Do Not buy anything from them, they will take your money and you wil never receive anything.
They use a company called moneybookers.com to process their payments.
this company will try and wash it's hands when you complain to them, but I managed to get a refund by making an official complaint to the financial ombudsman. MB caved in straight away and gave me a refund.
I bought a phone through this website and paid through moneybookers to wwppadore@live.co.uk.
Obviously phone didn't arrive, and have since read these reviews!
Contacted Moneybookers and they have been more than useless in recovering my money. Basically they have refused to help.
Help please?!
hi all,
hope someone can help. i've been ripped off by these scamming c*nts and moneybookers are saying they won't refund me as the person has withdrawn the funds, my bank won't as i paid on my solo card, action fraud won't help consumer direct are f*cking useless. HELP!! how do we get these thieving tampons stopped.
Absolute scam! I spent £80 on this site on 2nd april 2010 and no contact since, no emails back, no replies to the phone calls. NOTHING!!!! SCAMMERS!!! How do i get my money back? Can moneybookers reverse the card charges? THANKS GGUYS!!
Hi guys!
I got an answer from moneybookers, that they are not paying my money back that i transfered to wwppadore@live.co.uk. I understand that some people has got a full refund by moneybookers and i asked moneybookers about it. Haven't got any answer yet.

This site looks very familiar!!

and...

All the above sites have nothing to do with Magicase and there is no pattern whatsoever with this website. http://www.cutprice-camera-hifi-lcd.com , http://www.perfumania-online.co.uk, http://www.elecosave.co.uk & www.thegadgetspot.co.uk are all owned by The Cutprice Fashion Retail Group. I would also like you to note that unless you can make your findings proven that we are linked with Magicase your statement should be removed. This is defamatory as your findings are unfound. I am at utmost upset as you are damaging the reputation of a company that has standards. Perhaps you would like to call me and explain your proofs that we are linked to Magicase . Hello Bill- I would also like to point out this letter has been sent Site Jabber Directly and you may receive a letter to yourself directly if action is not taken by yourself to change defamatory remarks made against our company
Letter as follows to Sitejabber:
WITHOUT PREJUDICE- LEGAL CONSULTATION STAGE- DEFAMATORY REMARKS AGAINST OUR COMPANY
Hello,
I am very unhappy that one of your users
Bill C. has decided to make the remark that our websites www.cutprice-camera-hifi-lcd.com, www.elecosave.co.uk, www.thegadgetspot.co.uk & www.perfumania-online.co.uk are scam websites. We have posted details on the site as we feel that these remarks are defamatory towards an ethical legal organization. Our company has high standards and to be remarked as a scam company based on the fact that are site is simalar to Magicase in unfound. We are considering taking UK legal action against this person and will let them know directly. Please take this notification seriously. We may contact you for more details about this person if legal proceedings are taken based on being defamatory. I suggest your site removes the unclear facts about our company as soon as possible. Gregory Long
Gregory,
Whilst I am happy to remove the above list of websites (and will do so once you apologise - see below), I have at no time stated "www.cutprice-camera-hifi-lcd.com, www.elecosave.co.uk, www.thegadgetspot.co.uk & www.perfumania-online.co.uk are scam websites."
Your statement above is actually libelous.
You have assumed I have said this because I have mentioned these websites in reference to a post by another poster called Phil P. This user stated that the websites looked familer to Magicase.co.uk, I only noted that there are a number of other websites which all look similar. You should direct your complaint (which I see you have not) to the person originally making the original suggestion and apologise to me for stating I have stated something when I have clearly not.
Regards,
Bill C
Hello, It reads me to clearly that you are making a statement that there is a pattern and therefore all the sites are linked. In these economically hard times it is hard enough to make decent turnover and with such bad feedback which normally gets cached by Google aswell -what you do is damaging to the business. This is unfair because people look at reviews like these and therefore fell weary to use sites such as ours. The mere fact that you suggest there is a pattern is making a statement . Gregory Long
Whilst I understand your concern, the pattern I highlighted was that all these sites have the same Contact Us page. Look at my posts again and tell me where I stated you are running a Scam?
"See if you can see a pattern...
http://www.cutprice-camera-hifi-lcd.com/contact-us-2-w.asp
http://www.elecosave.co.uk/contact-us-2-w.asp
http://www.thegadgetspot.co.uk/contact-us-2-w.asp
http://www.perfumania-online.co.uk/contact-us-2-w.asp"
I repeat, your statement that I had said "www.cutprice-camera-hifi-lcd.com, www.elecosave.co.uk, www.thegadgetspot.co.uk & www.perfumania-online.co.uk are scam websites." is untrue and libelous.
Unfortunately, I have looked into SiteJabber and cannot find a way to remove these posts (try and remove your own - you'll see you cannot). It would appear they do not provide the ability to do so. So, if you are still unhappy with the content staying online you will need to approach them direct and ask for it to be removed.
Just got an email from moneybookers.com saying the money has been recovered and will be credited back to my card :)
just to update, moneybookers.com will contact the seller after you raise a complaint and you should receive a confirmation email with a ticket number. If, as expected, the thieving bastard doesn't respond within 5 working days they will take the money back from his account and refund back to you.
good luck guys
Just had confirmation that I have been refunded too - good news, I just hope they get the bastard though!!
Thanks, i also lodged a complaint around the same time and got my money back via moneybookers.com.
When I ordered my MP3 player from this site I also thought it was genuine. That was over a week ago and the only update I have had was from Moneybookers saying that the payment was being taken.
I haven't heard anything since and after reading these reviews I am very worried. I shall get in touch with Moneybookers now in hopes of getting money back but agree it is concerning as they have limited information on their site and I noticed a lot of the pages are coming up with no information at all.
I feel like a sucker! I'll retract this if I get a response but for now I'm not holding my breath.
If I find out how to get this resolved I will come back and post and hopefully you will all do the same.........
update on 19/04 - moneybookers has refunded my money, very impressed with them and relieved it worked out, i hope it works out the same for all of you. :-)
This site looks very familiar!!

Very good catch...many companies just keep cranking out site after site and selling the same old scam.
Actually Not a con site at all. Sold over 900 products to date and part of the Cutprice Retail Group with the Head office in Sutton and a fulfilment warehouses in Borehamwood & Lincoln. If you think the site is a scam back up this statement with proof. One of Owners of CPF Retail Group. We can actually supply proof of many happy customers! Our websites are definately not a scam! 100%!
Actually just seen the site you are cross referencing. Magicase have nothing to do with our company and www.cutprice-camera-hifi-lcd.com, www-elecosave.co.uk & www.thegadgetspot.co.uk are all part of the Cutprice Retail Group. Magicase has nothing to do with us and they are using the same website casing as we do. I 100% would like to make this point clear. You are very welcome to speak to me Todd & Phil. 020 3441 0994.
Sincere apologies for that then Gregory, just was the same format & I jumped to the wrong conclusion, I should have tried contacting you first.

I paid with my Visa electron. What payment method did you gyus use, who got full refund?
i used american express. If they are refusing then you should contact your bank. Hope that moves things along
I used Mastercard & got a refund
Thank you for your answers! I guess it's easier and safer when you pay with a credit card like you did. Visa Electron is a debit card and that might be a problem in this case. Let's see how it goes.
UPDATE (15/04/2010): Moneybookers.com have just provided me (as promised after 5 business days) with a full refund and they are investigating Magicase.co.uk for fraud.
I told Moneybookers that they must refund me or i will chargeback the payment & they will have to pay an additional £25 recovery fee to barclaycard
Just checked and the money has been credited back onto my card. That's taught me a lesson now - if a website/vendor doesn't have a merchant account with VISA/Mastercard - BEWARE!
i also got a message today from moneybookers saying they could not refund me the money. i used visa. i will try contacting my bank about it and post any progress here. this is the message i got from moneybookers>

Maybe the bastard has drained his account after Moneybookers grabbed the first few payments back. Igues if there's no funds in his account they cannot reclaim it :(
this is my most recent contact from money bookers:
"We are sorry for the situation you experienced with this particular merchant. Please note that Moneybookers is an intermediary party and as such can perform refunds only if the funds are still available in the system.
Unfortunately, in your case the funds already has left the system at the time of completion of your investigation on the case."
Well here's a bit of good news.
I got stung by these scammers and reported it to the police as fraud.
They spoke to ekm and the site is now suspended.
I'm sure they will pop up again but it's a small blow.
I also have a case open with the financial ombudsman against moneybookers.com for failing to ensure that magicase were legitimate.
I'll keep you posted.
My refund has now appeared on my CC statement, as said previously I reckon he drained his account when he saw the other payments going out so nothing left in there to refund :(
I agree though that Moenybookers should take some responsibility for their sellers & should have checked the seller was legit!
As an update to my earlier post, Moneygrabbers, er... sorry.. Moneybookers are now going to refund my money after the Financial Ombudsman wrote to them. Just goes to show what a little pressure in the right place will do.
I would recommend contacting them on www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk if you have been stiffed by moneybookers as they might cave in.
