My daughter ordered her Prom dress and was told she would have it in plenty of time. Well today she was informed it will not even be ready due to the seamstresses being off for some reason. So she cancelled her order on an unmade dress. She just received a response it will take 2 to 3 weeks to return her money. Then another saying she is getting a refund of 0.00? She is owed 260+ dollars. What gives? She is in a panic, unsure if she will even get her money back. I've ordered from Chinese companies before and all went well. Not sure what to think about this situation. Hoping she gets every penny she is owed back. All they did was give her false shipment dates and heartache.
So far it's been a nightmare and I have no idea if they are going to rip me off. I ordered 2 dresses on 2/13/14 for a wedding on 3/28 and all was going well. Then for no reason they canceled my order. When I contacted them they told me that my order was not canceled and is progressing. When I checked the website there was another order that was pending my payment. I checked my credit card and confirmed they were paid for the 1st order. I tried to contact customer service and they keep replying with some stock reply that tells me nothing. Now I have no idea if the dresses will be delivered or if I've just been robbed. They will not reply to my queries with any information of any use no matter how specific I get. I may need to file a dispute with my credit card and now I have to shop for another dress just in case. This has been a terrible experience. I recommend you stay away from this site.
Lightinthebox delivers later than promised. They take no responsibility for the order. I ordered a dress which arrived after I was supposed to use it. I tried to cancel the order when I saw the deliverydate, but they still sent me the dress. I did not get any money back. Stay away from this website. Lightinthebox.com is not reliable and take noe responsibility when they do mistakes.
Ordered two cushion covers from this website when i got to checkout postage cost almost as much as items ordered. I was asked to pay £17 50p on delivery for import tax on delivery which I refused and have been unable to contact via e mail. Stay away from this site.
Lightninginthebox has amazing items, great prices. The descriptions are accurate and the postage fast. I have already recommend this site to friends.
I am extremely disappointed. I felt I was lied to on numerous occasions about why my order was taking so long. First I was told it was because of the Chinese New Year and now I am being told it is because my boots size is in high demand. With every complaint I submitted I got a response within 34 hours. Once I demanded a full refund no one had responded and when I try to log into my inquiry it says,"Sorry! www.lightinthebox.com is unavailable at the moment due to routine server
maintenance." How convenient. This is a scam. DO NOT SHOP HERE!
"I'm a mother of four who barely has time to shop for frames in store. I came across what looked like a great deal on a Wall set of 10 frames on llightinthebox. Unfortunately my excitement quickly turned to great regret, utter disappointment and a feeling of being bamboozled by the depiction, description and price value of these frames marked at $149.99 but on sale I can get them for $69.99.
These must be nice frames I thought. Since the set of 10 price value was $149.99 USD that means these are $15 frames and I can get then at under $10 each.
The depiction is of the frames displayed with matting inset. The specifications say pictures held are at smallest 5"x7".
I was so happy about this deal that I ordered two sets. Being in Canada shipping was an additional $43 and with conversation these two sets came to $193.00 on my credit card. It was still a good deal for frames that are valued at $15 each.
Now here's the most embarrassing part. My realization that I had been duped. The frames arrived and required Cash on Delivery for duties paid at customs. That was an additional $34 and then when I picked up the box that already seemed far too small to contain two sets of quality frames. It was SO light.
I cried inside seeing that they were not even glass inset but thin plastic, they require assembly to mount on the wall. They are the same frames that are sold at IKEA call NYTTJA that you can get for as low $2 each!
Also the specs that read "Picture Holds: 12*16*1pcs, 7*12*2pcs,5*7*7pcs" of frames depicted as displaying photos within a matted setting IS actually the dimensions of the frame itself. Within the matting of the small frames described as holding 5*7 you can actually display 3.15"*5".
I have contacted their customer service regarding the quality. Take from this review what you will. Beware buying on this site. If you have money to squander - go ahead. If you are looking for savings, don't do it.

Read lots of reviews from other people and got scammed myself. Ordered a painting and never got that painting and I'm sure they never sent it. Thankfully disputed my order with the credit card. Light in the box has to be shut down and closed for scamming lots of people.
I discovered Lightinthebox as I was searching for LED bulbs a year ago. I found many excelllent LED products at a fraction of the price I paid in Europe. Btw most of these products sold in Europe are manufactured in China anyway, even those of the big brand names sold at high street price.
I also received twice a poor quality product. I complained and got a refund within 24 hours. That made me confident that their Customer Service is fast and easy to deal with.
Ordered Gel Nail Polish Product...well, it all came open with polish leaking. Once we cleaned up the bottles tried one of the colours and it didn't gel. The product sucks. When I emailed them for a refund they said that because the product was openned it could not be returned. I even had a picture of how we received it, in the bubble wrap covered in neon orange polish..so it was already openned before we even tried it. and then for it to not even gel...well...$62.00 down the drain! Do not order from this site. !! Stay Away!!

I ordered an LED shower head from them and it was clearly not the one I ordered. They offered a 50% refund if I return it and pay for shipping. I told them there ad was deceptive and I wanted a full refund and they pay for shipping or the Item they had posted on the web site. They deleted my complaint ticket and sent me an email the problem had been resolved.
I submitted a negative review and it was never posted. Notice their product reviews are never less than 4 stars. I love how they're also trolling this site posting apologies. It's just words LIB nobody wants to hear them any more. I ordered from them as a test; they failed; which I'm not surprised. The Shower head I bought wasn't cheap either.
No Recourse, No accountability. "All you's money belongs to's us"
oh btw, after paying an additional 50% for duty, taxes and import fees, my entire list of items were no longer a deal.
Update: Im updating my rating to 2 stars because after reading my poor review LIB did actually send me a full refund for the shower head. There is a lesson here about being a squeaky wheel.

I bought loads of items from miniinthebox with is actually the same company as lightinthebox. The package arrived within a week. I couldn't believe it :)
I'm very much happy from what the items turned out. They looked legit and the designs were impeccable! I would definitely buy more in the future.
Although, since I live in Denmark, I had to pay taxes. I bought items in the total of 390kr. and had to pay 160kr. I've purchased 18 items from miniinthebox but there was only 16 items. The other 2 hasn't been shipped yet but I already paid full price for them. I would gratefully appreciate it if they put the exact amount on how much you pay for the taxes.

Make sure you understand their return policies and cancellation policies. Understand that it may cost you $50 to cancel a$100 order. Understand that just because an item says it ships in twenty-four hours does not mean that your particular size or color can ship in twenty-four hours. Understand that receiving your item may take a month and a half. If you understand all of these things and are ok with them then use Light In The Box. I will not use them again.
First package came in and it was great. Next day the other one came in and it was the wrong order, nothing closed to what I ordered. It was someone else's. I also paid an extra $15.51 for expedited shipping so this was very disappointing. I was hoping for a cute purse to come in, but I guess not..
Terrible - I ordered a dress that was supposed to be ready to wear (i.e. not made to measure). Eventually they came back and said it would be dispatched 1 month after I had paid - too late for my event. When I tried to cancel they claimed that all there dresses were made on demand and charged me 50% of the total bill to to cancel. Don't trust them with your money.

The communication with the customer service was useless as my payment couldnt be confirmed for 20 days. The shipping was fine, but it took 20 days to confirm the payment done via wire transfer. I couldnt track it online regardless of the tracking numbers provided by Lightinthebox.

When I ordered a garment from this company nowhere did it mention i would have to pay import duty/tax to the delivery company before they would deliver.

The fitting of the garment was appaling,,,,far too big at the top, the top of sleeves were far too small for the armholes causing puckering and the material just clung to the arm.
I complained to the company immediately informing them i wanted a refund as it did not fit and was poor quality. I received an email stating they would reimburse me a fraction of the cost- to have it altered here in the UK,which I refused, as it was not possible to alter it, there wasn't adequate material to do this.
I was eventually told I would have to return it to China at my own cost.I got the impression I would never get a refund. I was not going to waste my time.
I would not recommend this company ever.....steer clear!!!!
I didn't even want to give this site 1 star. After placing an order, I got an email requesting that I send them a photo of my credit card and my passport. Why? I don't know. I quickly did some research and found that this site is a well known scam site. Don't believe the 5 star reviews; they were obviously written by employees of the company.
The service was very fast and convenient. The item I bought was in perfect conditions and fully met my expectations.
I've been shopping on this website for months now, and I haven't had any problems so far. They've got a super caring staff, and whenever I have a doubt or a complaint about a product, they get in touch as fast as they can, offering help and/or a refund. Light in box is an amazing site for modern chic clothing. I have ordered several outfits and I must say, I'm in love with the quality of the clothes. Delivery is fast and packages are received in great condition. I highly recommend purchasing from light in the box!
This is my experience with this company. Purchased several items had to return some for size. Site is setup for selling not for returns. I have gone around and around with this so called customer service that they say is so great and have gotten no where. I returned the merchandise which they now say they have not received after 6 weeks. I'm out $44 and there seems to be no resolution. II would not recommend anyone shopping there.

My sister is getting married and found my maid of honor dress on here because apparently it was originally $235 marked down to $79 for a "limited time only".....needless to say I purchased the dress, had to pay $20 extra for EXPEDITED shipping and then a few days later an additional charge of $3 for international shipping was also charged on my debit card. It's been well past the "promised" 3-5 business days THAT I PAID FOR...so I went to check on my order and low and behold it says "estimated shipping date Feb 21"!!!! I ordered the dress last week so I just knew it was coming this week....now I don't know if I will get the dress in time for my ONLY SISTER'S WEDDING a nd i have tried to contact them but there is no email, and even worse NO PHONE NUMBER!! I feel scammed, mislead and be assured this site/company needs reported to the Better Business Bureau. I need my dress so now what???? They are falsely advertising themselves.....the good reviews are most likely written by their employees, this has me so upset. What am I to do????
Mini in the Box offers a great variety of products a t a great price. I discovered it looking for specific LED bulbs that not even Home Depot has in storage. To my amazement, they had more than one option at about half of what I imagined they would cost.
Then I began browsing through other items and they have very cool stuff. It quickly became one of my bookmarked sites.
Everything about this site is amazing I love everything about the clothing coats, hair bows, I have ordered quite a bit from this site. I intend on ordering more. The pet clothing are so amazing.
Misleading advertising. All of the items that I ordered showed "ships in 24 hours". My order was placed several days ago, and the items still haven't shipped. Customer service agents keep giving me apologies and lines suggesting that my order is being processed and will ship soon.
The expected shipping date, shown after I placed the order, was 4 days after ordering. So much for "ships in 24 hours" and paying extra for expedited shipping. :(
This was a horrible and distressing experience for me! Please please do not fall in to the trap and order from this Chinese company. I am going to be a bridesmaid and the bride decided to get the dresses from this site. I ordered two sizes as I wasn't entirely sure which size I would need and the design is such that it couldn't really be altered.
Firstly, when ordering, you will have to pay significant value for customs duty / tax which makes the items just as expensive as from a reputable high street store such as Coast or Karen Millen.
The smallest of the dresses (size 2) is still HUGE on me. I am a UK size 8-10. The sizings are completely wrong. But I had to keep it because it is what the bride chose. One small plus is that the dress is good quality and when it is adjusted, will look good.
I submitted an enquiry to return the other address. Firstly, there is NO phone number to call and no address to be found any where on the website (despite the latter being a legal requirement). The adviser emailed to say that I could not return the item for a refund because all items are tailor made (seriously?!?) to order. I imagine there is a warehouse in China with a 1000 of these dresses waiting to be shipped.
They offered instead to alter the dresses to fit me, which was pointless as I only wanted one dress and as I later discovered, it would cost me £60 to post the dress back to Beijing.
After many heated exchanges via email, they then offered to refund 50% of the cost or a credit note. Still unacceptable to me - I would NEVER use this company again.
Finally, I threatened legal action and said that under the distance selling regulations I was entitled to a refund. They gave in. However, it still cost me £60 to post the dress back to Beijing, so I still lost out massively (the dress was around £80).
Please please avoid this company. It was such a distressing experience. I found them thoroughly deceitful and underhand. This company is based in China, don't be fooled in to thinking you are ordering from the UK, US or your native country.
I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with this seller.
I purchased a head unit from their eBay Australia site, originally excited to receive it and install the unit.
I received the package excluding many of the accessories mentioned in the item description.
- no remote
- no av cables
- no remote control
- no faceplate
I contacted the seller and he offered a small refund, which I did not even have time to respond to before installing the unit and finding out the unit was faulty. Being a media head unit, I was quite frustrated to learn that all media functions and a clicking sound through the audio.
I will be uploading the video to youtube for all to see.
The radio function worked, bluetooth worked, tv input aux worked. The usb player, cd player, dvd, card reader function all had issues. I notified the seller as to the issue and they were polite enough to try to troubleshoot me. All to the same conclusion. Having now ripped my dash apart 3 times, I became frustrated.
I again contacted the seller, who mentioned that I would get a refund if I sent the unit back, but also advised that if I provided positive feedback they would pay for the return shipping. I agreed and continued to get quotes from different freight companies.
Once the information was forwarded, they agreed the cost of freight would be to great and they would just offer me a credit minus the cost of the freight. I agreed, being a little paranoid I asked for a credit first.

Because, usually, if we do not receive returned item, we can not offer so much refund. However, our manager said that the premise the to carry out this solution is that we receive the positive feedback first. I decided not to be too pessimistic, I provided the feedback. BIG MISTAKE. From receiving emails on a regular basis to complete silence.
I ended up having to go through paypal disputes and am currently being asked to send the unit back. This is going to cost half of the cost of the unit to get the refund.
So I'm left with a faulty unit, which I can send back at my loss. No head unit for my car and a poor taste in my mouth. I will be posting this on every review site and social site. I also understand how search engine optimisation works, so expect some negative feedback linking back to your site.

I order 3 tops, after I read the bad reviews posted on the web, I was not sure if I was going to be ripped off, but I was surprised when my parcel arrived 6 days aftered placing the order. The tops are good quality and fit well.
I ordered twice from this website. The first time I ordered 2 pairs of boots and after a eek of processing, they sent me a ticket that said the items were out of stock. They gave me credit on the site so I can pick something else. I chose another pair of boots, and after a week of processing the item finally said it was shipped. When the estimated due date for delivery had passed over 4 days the status of the item changed to "contacting customer". I was waiting for them to contact me for a couple of days but once I saw that nobody was contacting me I attempted to contact them. I looked for a customer service number, which was nowhere to be found. I tired their live chat but told me that no one was online. Then I received a ticket saying thay my iyem was out of stock . It is strange because twice I ordered and twice the item I ordered was out of stock. It is very fishy. Also, if the item was out of stock why on earth would the status say it was shipped. It doesnt make sense. The whole website doesnt make sense. They have nice products and they are pretty cheaply priced too, but you know what they say, if it looks to good to be true, it probably is. So I wouldn't recommend this website to anyone. Beware.
I ordered a phone from these people. I was sent an email to send them an image of government pictured id plus an image of the credit card used to purchase (they said I could blank out part of the credit card number). I sent them my government issued id plus the image of my credit card. They canceled my order and it took me several online chats and days and days of emails to get this response "I am so sorry for any trouble brought. I checked your order with our financial department and they told me that your photos can not prove your payment is legal. Instead, the photos you provided to them seems have problem to be real. So our financial department to cancel your order and arrange full refund on". I am upset because all the hassle to try to find out what went "wrong" - I was without a phone for a week trying to resolve - and on top of everything else I have incurred two kinds of expenses as a result of this. One, the exchange rate my credit card/bank used to process the refund was less favorable than the exchange rate the credit card/bank used to process the charge. Per a call to my credit card/bank (spoke with four people getting transferred back and forth) that is my loss. Plus I was charged TWO foreign transaction service fees by the credit card/bank relating to this transaction which according to the credit card/bank (spoke with four people) that is my loss. Obviously not too happy with my credit card/bank but frankly this would never have happened if lightinthebox did not arbitrarily decide my verification information was not "legal" (although it was a government issued id with my picture and name plus my credit card)
The company is a complete and utter fraud. Do not purchase from this site. The products pictured are nothing like what you will receive. Their refund policy is a complete scam. I tried to dispute the charges on my American Express and they were unable to recover any of the funds. Apparently the funds pretty much vanished. I am stuck with a dress that is two times bigger than me. I ordered a size 4 and literally a size 8 showed up. I contacted them to return the item, they claim that it is a custom order even though it is a standard stock item on their website. THESE PEOPLE ARE WORTHLESS PILES OF DUNG! DO NOT GET SCAMMED LIKE I DID.

So far I would say it was average. Not above or below. I've ordered from there before. Both times it was ballroom heels. The 1st time I was super cheap and decided to do the super savers shipping(10-20 business days) I think it may have taken close to 2 months to get to me. They were in good shape and worked out really well.
Last week I ordered another pair did expedient shipping (3-5 business days) I ordered them last Sunday. They got to me last Wednesday. The shoes cost 19.19. Total cost was 33.44
it worked for me.
I was very excited to order from this website because they have a lot of varieties to choose from. After I received my parcel, I was so happy that DHL didn't ask for me to pay for customs. But after one month, DHL kept calling me and said I should have paid for the customs but forgot to ask me to pay. I bought $80 from them and I had to pay $36 for customs???? Just doesn't make sense. If you keep doing this to your customers, you are going to lose them all.
Not good after purchasing a pair of boots 64.57$ including shipping duties were added to my shipment 36.20$ so after that total cost 100.27$ at amazon 75.00.$ same thing shipping included BE WISE CHECK AROUND before purchasing I think this site should add duty charge may occur and add that price just in case

I have a sink that was a gift and the internal valve is broken. Asked customer service about a replacement and they say they don't carry it and cant direct me to a place that can get me a new one. This means they are selling a product that you buy and when it breaks you have to throw it away. This is total crap and they just want to rip you off is what it look like to me. O it's from china to I should have known.
Site should be considered as a Legitimate Chinese Wholesaler.

The use of "Legal" trust seals shows the websites willingness to ensure their users experience will be safe and secure! As these due come with a cost to the website.
I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this but this is the way I feel....
If you buy from websites based in China, Nigeria, Congo, Namibia, Iran, Syria, etc etc... a good rule of thumb is don't buy technology (phones, computers, cars etc...) and food (baby food, formula etc...).
If you buy anything at all...buy cheap plastic things like cd holders and make sure they aren't priced over $5. This goes for palm reading too.
Also when you order from places like this don't give them a credit card number otherwise you will be overcharged. Use something safer like a disposable credit card that only has $5 of credit.
PS. Don't order more than one item at a time that way your never out more than $5.

Ordered a LED shower head($184.00) and have a question. I asked several days ago and still no response. I see good reviews on this product and thats why I bought it but now I wonder. This morning I've requested again and still no answer. Depending the out come, I have plans on 3 more. I will keep everyone posted.
Ordered a DVR system as a Christmas present and paid for expedited shipping. 2 weeks later and all I am getting are emails that they want more photos of my ID and credit card as they are unhappy with the quality of my photo.
Why? They have no idea what I look like so why the need? My card has security with the bank and I passed all that.
