Recently started using LastPass. A few weeks later I decided to issue a premium. Now I have access to dark web monitoring and 1 GB of encrypted file storage. And it's only for 2.90€. I like. I want to try a little later for 30€ because there are 6 individual encrypted vaults and you can group elements.

LastPass could care less about Customers I had been using LastPass for the past 10 years with no problem. I received an email from them saying that unless I pay a monthly fee I would no longer be able to access from more that one of my devices. I was away from home and attempted to access a password from my cell. I was immediately locked out of my account and can no longer access anything. I am so ticked off. No one at LastPass will respond to my request for assistance!

I permanently closed my account months ago and contacted you to stop renewal and received several emails from you with a case number that my account situation has been updated as I requested.
But now I have received an email that you have renewed my premium subscription! I do not have even my master password, and absolutely no means of accessing my account, no bio ID, no one-time pass and no clue of the hint that I had set. There is NO way to contact them. Outrageous.

People need to know that they can be locked out of their accounts and lose access to all their data even when they have the right Master password. A week ago, my password had suddenly stopped working. Their customer service kept telling me they were receiving error messages on their end saying I was using the wrong password. I couldn't understand why as I've been using the same password for ages and didn't change it recently. I spent countless hours (over 20h) trying different combinations of passwords while resetting lots of individual accounts' passwords so I could access my emails, bank accounts, etc. It was a was stressful experience wasting all that time while knowing I had lost access to "notes" with sensitive data locked in Lastpass. Customer service ended up adding an IP address on their side and-magic-my password started working again. It worked from the very first try, which shows that all that time I had the right password while they were telling me I had the wrong one. This made it crystal clear one could forever lose access to their Lastpass even while remembering their Master password correctly. They didn't even have the decency to offer me a year of Premium service or something like this, as any company who minimally cares for their customers would have done. Stay away from Lastpass.

Tip for consumers:
Stay away.

Been using this for a while on PC and Android. It just keeps getting worse. Performance issues, not saving even though I requested it to save and on Android forget about it if you want to use it with an app. So frustrating. Cancelling my family membership... now.

I have had the worst experience with these people. I paid for annual premium service and immediately i started getting charged $10.55 per month for some credit monitoring service that i never agreed to and never activated, and never used. A year later they are STILL charging me monthly! And i have submitted a support ticket and corresponded with someone and ALL they are willing to do to compensate for the $140+ they wrongfully took is refund me one payment of $10.55 and THATS IT. And they are still charging me monthly $10.55! I have to cancel my credit card and get a new one which is a pain in the butt because i have automatic payments on all my bills. I am SO furious at this company. They wrongfully took from me and wont give it back. I would think they would be willing to refund the money since i never used the service but they said "we have no way to activate it ourselves" in other words theyre saying yes i did activate it and therefor i shouldnt be refunded the money. But i never used it and more importantly i didnt activate it. Who would? $10.55 a month to monitor credit? Thats a very high price for something you can get free from the bank or many other places. Thats absurd. This is how they treat paying customers. Unbelievable.

Below is my orginal review, but the glitch that occurred with my account is now fixed. I have raised stars back up. My issue happened with they did a major update. None of my passwords would load. Fortunately, they were able to save my account settings in the cloud and I had to delete my account. Started fresh and they were able to apply the settings to my new account, whew. Once I got someone who cared, I had my lifeline. Still wish it was easier to contact customer care. Everything has to be done through their portal, which is NOT user friendly.I would raise it back to 5 stars if it was easier to reach out to customer care.

We have paid the annual subscription for families plan for years, but recently an integration update was done and they LOST all my usernames and passwords. It has been almost 3 weeks, and still no resolve. The only way to get in touch with them is extremely difficult, you have to go in, create a case, and wait for a response. Sometimes they call back, sometimes they don't. I have spent hours, no days, working with customer support trying to recover my passwords, have made videos, have had customer service make videos, asked for escalation, and now, dead silence. To top it off, I was charged last night for my annual subscription! Not only do I not have my usernames and passwords (over 500 of them), Good Lord only knows where they are?! I have asked for higher management to call me, nothing. They cannot seem to find the root of the problem, and I'm pretty tech savy and have even suggested a few things be done, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. I am thinking about hiring an attorney bc they were entrusted with highly sensitive information, and are not taking the loss of that information seriously. What's worse, they keep closing my case, and I have to go in a reopen. BEWARE.

I like LastPass and use it for all my passwords and other secure information. It works fine on my iPhone, but on MacOS Catalina 10.15 I keep getting the problem that it thinks I am logging on with a new machine. I am not. I have 4 computers in total and only use these. I always use a Chrome browser and have it logged onto my google account.

First LastPass tells me access is blocked and I have to get a code from my email. Annoying but it works after I enter the code, the first time. However after a few times it stops sending the codes and I cannot use LastPass.

The other annoyance is that when I log on it tells me I have never been here before, offers me a tour and wants to install a Safari extension. I decline as I do not need a tour and do not use Safari, but again this is annoying.

Update 11-15-2023:
Last Pass was hacked and now my emails have been compromised to the point of several hundred Phishing and Junk emails daily. Have had to change all of my PWs and that has been no fun. In process of making PW Manager change to something Much More Secure. Can/Will no longer trust Last Pass.

Original Review:
This is the final straw with me... can't get into acct because they recently made changes so my PW doesn't work anymore. They have no way to contact someone who can't get the email PW and has no mobile phone... will NOT call landlines with code. Have tried to start a complaint ticket, but have to login. Cannot even get my problem onto the Community... need PW to sign in. This leaves me panicked and desperate.

Last Pass does a very poor job of protecting passwords as it's been hacked several times. Of I can ever recover my PWs I will leave Last Pass and never look back...

WRITE ALL of your PWs in an address book rather than use Last Pass.

Tip for consumers:
Update: LP was Hacked and our emails, passwords and, if you are dumb enough to trust a PW manager with your credit card numbers, they were included, as were any addresses and special notes, like the answers to your security questions. Thank goodness I did not have any account numbers or security question answers in my info.

Original: Write all of your PWs in address book if you feel you need to use this password manager because ultimately you will get locked out...then what will you do?

I fell for this and then firefox added in. LastPass lets you delete your account but don't forget to delete it from your browser too. On FireFox go to upper right 3 lines. Click on Add-ons looks like a puzzle piece otherwise the gray LP boxes will appear when you log in.

The more I use LastPass the less I like it. It's not too bad on your desktop as long as you don't change passwords. When you do this you can't depend on LP changing them in the Vault. I found that I have to go to the Vault & manually change them. Even then LP sometimes doesn't work right when you go back to the website of which you changed the password, it doesn't login correctly. On my phone LP repeatedly logs me out & I have to very often re-login. Even then it only works for about half my sites. Needless to say I am diligently working to find a better password manager. For the life of me I can't understand why people think LP is so good!

I have 259 employees. By a pushy salesperson I purchased sooner than I would have as I was in the middle of a strenuous audit. When I was finally done with the audit, I reached out to implementation that informed me that my 90 days was up so I have to do it on my own... TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY NINE EMPLOYEES?! BY MYSELF?! IN A TECHNOLOGY I DON'T KNOW?! Don't worry - she sent me a one-pager on how to handle it. It was sub-par to say the least. Save yourself the $10K for 200 licenses... I don't normally share pricing for the sake of negotiation, but WOW save yourself some time and energy. NOT worth it. GLITCHY too... They're going "private" whatever that means.

I have used Last Pass for several years and was fairly happy with it. Then all of a sudden, my master password stopped working. I checked, double checked, triple checked. I definitely entered the correct master password. Of course, I clicked forgot password and got the email. All good, right? Nope. Evidently there is a feature where you can list a number of temporary passwords that can be used in cases like this. I wasn't aware of that feature, so I have no temp passwords. So SOL. There is no way around this. There is no help in the support area, no chat, no email contact. I would NEVER trust my password to Last Pass. I suggest you don't either.

We WERE happy and satisfied users of LastPass for several years. Then last week, we got an email from LastPass, kind of bluntly stating that the free service we've been using would be pretty severely limited starting in about a month, so maybe we would want to "upgrade" and PAY to get what seems like a slightly LOWER level of service. I guess the time had come when LastPass needed to get us free users to start paying. Kind of an annoying money grab really.

Well, if we're going to have to pay for our password management software, it seemed sensible to us to check out what other companies were offering, something we never even THOUGHT about before. Within a few minutes, I found Keeper. Costs pretty much the same as the 25% OFF LastPass was offering. Recommended ABOVE LastPass by PC MAG.

Keeper had a chat widget right there on their home page (good luck find this on LastPass). So I clicked in, and got a nearly immediate response. I asked, "Why should I choose Keeper instead of sticking with LastPass?" I got an IMMEDIATE and kind of compelling response. This rep knew exactly what his company was offering, and he seemed to know exactly what LastPass was offering. I asked whether Keeper would make switching over easy. I got an IMMEDIATE RESPONSE with a link to a video that showed just how easy it would be. At this point I was pretty convinced to switch, especially considering the slightly disrespectful way LastPass announced these changes.

But, I thought, it would only be fair to listen to the LastPass sales pitch. So I went to the LastPass website, logged in, and after a good bit of searching, I finally found a link to chat. What an unmitigated fiasco! After waiting a long time to get a rep online, I asked this simple question (many times in many ways): Apparently, I'm going to pay someone for this service. Why should it be LastPass instead of Keeper? In a chat conversation that lasted more than an hour, I never got ANY answer to that question. Every response took SEVERAL MINUTES and I never got any closer to an answer.

I did get this: "Unfortunately we do not have knowledge about terms and conditions from Keeper to address them here. Feel free to visit their website to check difference on products." Do they really want reps to recommend this? The Keeper rep WAS knowledgeable about LastPass. Of course, I might forgive the LastPass rep for not knowing about Keeper, but she also didn't tell me ANYTHING about LastPass, not a SINGLE feature that would be added if I started paying for the service. Even the ONE webpage she sent me was about the many features of the free version of LastPass that I'm going to LOSE on March 16, and the additional features they're going to take away on May 17.

REALLY? Your upselling move made me check out the other guy. Then, in an effort to be fair and smart, I contacted your company with considerable difficulty. I asked your representative to give me ANY kind of sales pitch to get me to buy this service from you instead of the other guy. You gave me NOTHING! You rewarded my fairness with time-wasting incompetence. How is your strategy going to avoid moving a BUNCH of your free accounts over to the competition?

Finally, the rep promised me they would escalate this case, and I would get an EMAIL someday from a supervisor. Do you think I'll get that email before I'm done switching to another provider?

Sad. Avoid this company. Others do it better for less, and they don't disrespect you.

Warning! They can deactivate your account with no reason!
I've used the extension in absolutely straight way - just saving password to websites like gmail.com, amazon.com, internet shops etc.
Now I see that my account is deactivated - saying that I'm enterprise customer, while I'm not! I don't have any admin, I'm single private person who saved his own personal data there...

ALL my passwords lost, now need to recover for each single site.
Horrible experience!
Beware and look somewhere else!

I decided to try this as a "backup" password archiver to the Apple Keychain because the Apple Keychain can evaporate without provocation. Well the more I used LastPass, the more I had to devote to getting it to work. LastPass hard sells the premium during trial period but provides the scantest support. You don't get a good impression that there is any better value. Support relies on canned responses. I complained intensively enough to get to upper management and I explained the shortcoming, of course, there was a vague promise to improving the product. So I decided to wait. A year later I received a market statement of a new release. It was prettier but still functionally flawed. I recommend trying more a robust Password manager that can seamlessly handle the Internet. Having to spoon feed a browser extension is not what I consider a robust app, especially because it is going to be handling sensitive information or ready to charge for.

When I was looking for a password saving site, the two major ones that I came across were Dashlane and LastPass. I first tried LastPass because it seemed more popular. However, I found it very confusing to use as I already had many login/passwords already save in chrome. It was overlapping and was not saving password changes correctly. Then uninstalled it and changed to Dashlane and have been much happier!

I have been a LastPass member for several years. It seems their renewal process has a flaw. I have made a referral that extended my account. But it seems they don't update the payment renewal date. I wants payment as of original renewal date and not when your account is ready to expire. I can see people losing track and missing out on the free month(s).

I've tried a good number of password managers. A couple of years ago, I tried Lastpass, but I quickly found it confusing. I went on to Dashlane, which I used for over a year. But Dashlane began to give me headaches, so I returned to Lastpass recently. It's really not confusing at all if you simply pay attention for a while as you grow accustomed to it. There's a brief learning curve. It works far better than most anything else -- of the five or so alternatives I've tested.

Lastpass long had a butt-ugly interface, but they recently changed that, and now it's as good-looking as Dashlane, which is best known for attractiveness.

(Update: Dashlane's newest version is great. I've returned to Dashlane even though I still recommend LastPass heartily.)

It's not easy to remember all the passwords, especially if you don't use just a couple of them for your accounts. It's not safe to write them down either so I think this is a perfect solution.

The free software stores all the passwords for you in your browser. You get choice of auto login as well which I found sometimes can be bit annoying especially if you didnt choose the right option alongside cuz it will login more than once automatically if you have not left the page. I prefer it just alongside the browser password storage and its like a backup of all your passwords and works great. Its free and virus free and works find with firefox. I dont use it with other browsers but I am sure it works with the others that are compatible.
