KSL

KSL comment moderators are the worst! You can be diplomatic and on point when posting a comment or response, but if your comment/response doesn't conform to the subjective narrative they wish to push, they won't approve your comment. They don't want an objective discussion; they only want to push their desired narrative and will censor out comments that contribute to critical thinking. KSL lives in the same cesspool as many other news outlets.

Love KSL. The classified section is what people in Utah use; there's far greater exposure in it compared to sites like Craigslist in the local market. They seem to be building out the Jobs, Homes, Services, and Deals sections quite a bit too. News is news for the most part, but their site is easy to navigate and less frustrating than others when trying to keep up on current events.

KSL has a long history of censorship. Years ago when they were a CBS affiliate, they censored a show called picket fences over an episode that was critical of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As an NBC affiliate, they have continued their tradition of censorship such as originally decided against airing Saturday Night Live because they felt it was too risque for Utah's audience who were used to watching SNL on KUTV when they were an NBC affiliate. I personally wish I could have a different NBC affiliate knowing someday one of my favorite TV shows on NBC could be censored by KSL. The tradition of censorship continues with their comment board. You could post a comment that violates no KSL terms of service rules and it will be rejected. Interestingly, you may see similar comments to yours that did get published so you know your comment wasn't in violation of KSL's terms of service since these other comments were allowed. Sometimes they seem to reject every comment you submit even if they violate no rules and aren't considered offensive to any groups. With KSL's active censorship, how can I trust them to accurately report the news? How do I know they have censored opposing viewpoints and interviews for their news stories? I don't understand how they can be trusted with reporting the news with their bias against opposing viewpoints and even actively censoring opposing viewpoints.

Why even bother going to this site anymore? You are practically barred from voicing any opinion you have because you can't even be sarcastic or disagree with another person without your comment being rejected, yet low and behold a see a lot of conservative comments accepted that BLATANTLY have misinformation in them (such as the election was stolen) and those comments are just fine but if you want to write opinion about how that person is wrong then you'll be rejected. **** KSL and **** it's right wing moderators who have made the comment section unusable. It's such a trash site. They don't even allow a discussion to happen because you're allowed ONE parent comment and ONE reply and it just kills any and all talk that could be happening from people within the state. If you're a ksl moderator or you're in that department that hires the moderators just know you're scum.

They censored the word "arse" while I was commenting on a story about censorship. Well done Mormon publishing. Defend neo-nazis with every drop of ink and censor my gay arse.

I have been banned from commenting on their site. I make more than sure that my comments are form and direct without cuss words.
Their website constantly crashes and has some kind of issues that keep it from performing even the basic operating functions needed.

Liberal or Conservative if a moderator decides they don't like you at KSL they just won't post your stuff. I have submitted comments that are almost word for word what others have posted and they just deny them if I try posting in the day time. If I post at night the moderator puts it up. That is fascist nonsense.

Their site is the best built news site I have been to though, fast and organized. So there is that.

But they definitely lean far left and are going farther and farther that way every day. From the nonsense on climate change to the blatant racism against whites, it is there at the least weekly.

I've watched KSL for years. I've had respect for them until recently. It seems they only allow people to post comments that THEY want everyone to see and delete others they don't like. I've tried to post a bunch but they keep getting deleted. I've NEVER used profanity or attacked someone. The last time i tried to post i read and re-read over my post before i sumbited it to make sure there wasn't anything even hinting of being rude, profane or abusive in anyway and they still deleted it... I LOST A LOT OF RESPECT FOR THEM! They should be better than this!

If i could give KSL i negative review i would, but one is the lowest you can give. This site censors you, will not let conservative's post anything, and now that 46 is in office it is even worse than ever. One you can not even call biden 46 or they will not even let you make a fair post on their site. Two you can not rely to the idiot's who think they know anything on the site. The only only they post is straight hard core leftist news. Three they can not even get the weather right from one day to the next. I would say more but it just not worth it any more. KSL sucks.

Having never been allowed to participate in the conversations due to their radical left mods found it was easier to be heard on social media such as Twitter. I make sure I use hashtags that get maximum coverage etc. Their anti-free speech, Marxist mods aren't in control of their twitter account. Maybe Opposing opinions will go a lot further if it can be seen and not censored. Please do your part as a censored citizen to fight #fakenews on the local level

KSL.com wants to utilize freedom of press while their commemt moderators squelch the public on the comments section. 99% of the comments are actually KSL employees and if you've registered an account on their site with your real information, their comment moderators have access to your email address, phone number and physical address as well as your full name.

I would not recommend even creating an account on their website because trying to delete it is a nightmare.

I've probably commented 300 times and at least 100 were rejected. I am rarely rejected when commenting on other websites as I don't use crude language. KSL censors with the best of them, particularly if you are conservative or in opposition to one of their articles then there is a good chance your comment will be rejected.

I can comment on www.desnews.com without issue and don't recall ever being rejected.

KSL also won't often check their classifieds for fraudulent postings.

I've about given up on their comment section.

We live in Cache Valley and don't understand why st George and salt lake get a weather forcast but we get only a fleeting mention
KSL does ok with most everything else. But hey there is about 100,000 people up here. Is that not enough to be treated with some respect.
There are so many ways to get our weather and news and maybe it is time to look elsewhere. This is my third review about the same issue.and absolutely no response.

It's disheartening when our local news station is as bad as the rest of the media. It's one thing to censor out bullying, swearing etc., but they have biased moderators who censor out 90% of the comments. They let in just enough opposing comments to stir things up and the rest of the approved comments are allowed to tear the opposition apart. Their FB posts on the other hand, are not moderated and it is glaringly obvious when the majority have a differing opinion. Everyone knows the web page comments are censored, so they might even gain credibility if they just did away with the comments altogether. When everyone says media is the problem, that includes KSL. I'll go somewhere else for my news from now on.

You are only allowed 1 parent and 1 response per article. I left a comment that someone else asked a question about comment. I was unable to respond there reply but I could still leave a parent comment. I posted to the person asking the question telling KSL how stupid it was and that it prevent real discourse on the subject. Not only did they not allow my comment, they also pulled my original comment and any response to that comment.

Every time there's some trash talk about republicans or our president, it's headline news. But when the President does something extremely good for the country and it's citizens the news reports get showed down to the bottom of the column. I've tried to comment on some posts but because I write logical stuff and to be clear none offensive, they do t pass their review board.

KSL stands for KEEP SLAVERY LEGAL. An employee of 21 years was fired November 2021 because he declined to participate in their slavery practices via their Updated Covid 19 Guidelines Policy that were outlawed under the 13th amendment.

KSL articles support liberal left ideologies including: promote abortion, question the 2nd amendment, promote climate change politics, promote mandatory vaccination, vilify all things Trump and GOP, vilify gun owners, promote lockdowns, vilify alternative covid treatments, promote war involvement including sending US forces to Ukraine, promote legalization of recreational drugs. Articles are typically very one sided, left leaning and include no relevant alternative views. Many of their articles are so one-sided, years ago they would be called editorials. KSL allow readers to comment on articles, but most of my polite but opposing view comments have been cancelled, not accepted.

I tried to make a comment today about Mayor Pete and our governor being together to work on things and and that it was nice to see them together not just taking shots at one another and they refused to post it. KSL IS PROGANADA FOR CONSERVATIVES

Eventually they could again decide Saturday Night Life is too risque and stop airing it. I wish that I can have another NBC affiliate instead of KSL as I don't like the possibility that a show I enjoy will no longer be aired by KSL.
Their spirit of censorship lives on in their comment boards. Their moderators will actively censor offending viewpoints and once you are censored one time, they will probably censor every other comment you try to post on KSL. How can you trust a news organization when they actively censor comments and TV shows that don't fit their agenda? How do we know they are accurately reporting both sides of the story and giving both sides an ample chance to report their side of the story? How do we know KSL hasn't decided to censor certain sides when reporting news? I don't trust KSL as a source for news and as mentioned, wish I could choose another NBC station as my local NBC affiliate.

These leftist panzies only put up orange man bad. They will go down like the rest of MSM. Hopefully these brainwashed people in this world wake up before they go quietly into that goodnight.
