This is a groupon clone and basically doing the same thing but probably with far less money to really reach out and find good deals in all of the cities they claim. My word of caution is that it takes considerable effort to secure a good deal from a business and that is why groupon has so much money invested in them. I am skeptical a site with less resources pulling this off, However they are a part of kgbanswers.com which is a very unique concept and fairly well executed.
Almost 3 months ago I purchased a coupon from KGB deals to get 2 memory foam pillows from www.fanooki.com. When I placed the order, I received a message informing me the shipping could take up to 4 weeks, which I thought was unusually long to begin with. At the time of my purchase there was no indication on the site that the item I was ordering was currently out of stock.
A month after I placed my order I contacted the fanooki customer service via email to request a shipping status. As a reviewer on www.ripoffreport.com also stated, they blamed suppliers for the delay. I have now exchanged 6 emails with customer service. The most recent response stated they would ship the items "today or Monday." That was over 2 week ago. The email stated that when the item was shipped I would receive an email with the tracking information. I ave yet to receive any shipping email and as of this morning my order status was still listed as "processing" on the Fanooki site.
I sent an email complaining about the situation to KGB deals. I did not receive a response until my 2nd complaint email. I have now exchange 3 or 4 emails with KGB Deals requesting a refund for the coupon based on Fanooki's lack of willingness or ability to honor the deal. KGB Deals has not even refrenced a refund in its responses to me. The most recent KGB Deals email I received instructed me to call Fanooki's customer service line because "they have detailed information pertaining to your order." I'm not sure how KGB Deals knows Fanooki has information they need to give me in regards tot he status of my order. If they do have information from Fanooki, I can't imagine why they couldn't give it to me directly and save me from listening to Fanooki's ridiculous customer service message. (The customer service line is a joke. The recorded message is a guy trying way to hard to sound "hip" and gave me the distinct impression that no one would be picking up the phone. This is because it kept saying that if I had received this message it was either due to heavy volume or that I was calling outside normal business hours, but never listed Fanooki's normal business hours. Additionally, the entire rambling TMNT-esque message lasted for about 2 minutes before it dumped me into a voicemail. I have never called a service hotline and only waited on hold for 2 minutes before the system gave up and told me to just leave a message.) If they don't have any direct information, then they're just trying to dump be off on the retailed when KGB actually took my money.
Overall I would suggest staying away from both of these companies (fanooki.com & kgbdeals.com). At best they're highly disorganized and have very poor customer service. A worst they're all out scam artists. [
Do not buy sunglasses from KB Global through KGB Deals!! They took my payment and never shipped the glasses, claiming that they did not have an order!
While the deals they have can be great ones; they have not been so good with customer service. I've contacted them three times thus far, re: expired unused certificates. Groupon and some others will easily refund. Not so with kgbdeals...and I believe that they are required to in several states.
I am having the same problem. They state that, "For expired vouchers, kgbdeals will provide a full refund of the purchase price paid in the form of kgbkash if the merchant is not willing to honor the purchase price of the voucher." I have three expired, no merchant is willing to let me use the base price I paid towards a purchase and KGB will not give me any credit. I am through with them. I'll stick with Groupon and others who honor their word.
No matter how good the deal is or how relevant it is to your needs, I would stay away from KGBDeals. I purchased 3 vouchers - the first, I had no problems with. The second and the third, however, has taken 6 times longer to reach me than they said (and it still hasn't come - they just promise it). When I contacted them about this issue, they said it was because of the "huge response they received from this wonderful deal." The deadline to these deals, mind you, were constantly extended to get more buyers. The worst part, and why I will never buy from them again, was their customer service. No one answered phone calls (during hours), and when they did respond to emails, they were generic one-liner responses. The only way I could get a response out of this company was to contact the Better Business Bureau...something I have never been forced to do before. Stay away.
I was charmed by this nice web-site at first. But they really have to do something with the customer service. When I had an issue with a coupon purchased from KGB I didn't manage to reach them by phone and they just ignored my e-mails. I decided that it is better to save my time and just forget about this.
Thanks, your opinion was useful for me!
You are welcome!
if you bought a voucher from here, and it worked, count yourself lucky! i've purchased quite a few vouchers in the past year, and it's often hit and miss, with more misses recently. there was a business that went bankrupt, and therefore, i cannot redeem my vouchers. then a voucher code that didn't work at the merchant website, so again, i could not redeem my order. through all of this, i had to submit MULTIPLE "feedback," just to have them send me a confirmation e-mail with the ticket number, saying they are looking into the issue. though the logical business process should be a simple refund, i had to ask many MANY times!
the customer service is the worst of the worst. no attempt at satisfying the customer. one of my vouchers expired, sorry, my bad for not using it earlier. but it states on the website that the merchant should still honor the coupon for the amount i paid for, or kgb deals would refund me. when i requested for a refund, the service rep told me that i could not get a refund because i cannot purchase an expired deal! what does that even mean?! so i copied and pasted their refund policy, then they finally agreed to give me "kgb kash" back, basically store credit to use on the website.
don't use this website, it's not worth saving $5 on 1 deal, just to lose another $20 on another...groupon is the much more superior service!!!
They state that, "For expired vouchers, kgbdeals will provide a full refund of the purchase price paid in the form of kgbkash if the merchant is not willing to honor the purchase price of the voucher." I have three expired (my mistake), no merchant is willing to let me use the base price I paid towards a purchase and KGB will not give me any credit. I am through with them. I'll stick with Groupon and others who honor their word.
Do not buy from KGB deals! If you buy something and have an issue, there is NO customer service. And I mean NONE. They do not respond to emails. They don't answer their phone. Note: The phone number is no longer available on their website. You might as well just rip up your money and throw it away because that is what you are doing when you buy from this website!
every time I used this cite the merchant ripped me off....... trust me do not use
I wish that I would have read the reviews BEFORE I made my purchase! I ordered the Android tablet for my husband's birthday/ our anniversary present on 3/12/2012. I was told 3-4 weeks. When the 4th month had passed, I emailed them. They assured me I would have it by Monday 4/16/12. It is now 4/23/12 and I have YET to receive my item. I have emailed them 3 times with NO response! I have no idea what to do now!! DO NOT USE THEM NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE DEAL! they take the money right away and who knows when or if I will ever get my tablet!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I wish I had read these reviews beforehand..
On 1/20/12 I purchased two vouchers for whiskey stones and immediately redeemed them the following day. Fast forward THREE MONTHS later, I have only received one set of whiskey stones (which I got on 3/20/12). They were received in a plastic bag.. with NO care instructions. I never received the second set..
When I contacted kgbdeals, they asked me for proof from the vendor that I either did not receive my product or that I had returned the product I was dissatisfied with before they would allow me a refund. I contacted the vendor. Vendor did not respond. I tried again to contact kgbdeals, and again they told me the same thing. (The vendor is in Australia.. Shipping costs would be more than what I paid for it) The fifth time I contacted kgbdeals, they finally agreed to give me a refund for the unreceived product.. As for the product with no care instructions they said "wash before use. wash after use. put back in freezer." .. That was it..
Just avoid this company. The vendors they deal with are not legitimate. It is unlikely you will ever receive the product you are buy and if you do.. it will definitely be below expectations.
I got into the online deal trend - stick with Groupon and Lifebooker. I've ordered from 4 merchants from this site and all of their services have been awful
1. Salon appointment - stylist doesn't show up for appointment which was made and confirmed.
2. Laser hair removal package. They are rude and their instruments don't work. One of the technicians went on a racist rant against the black woman before me during my appt. They never call back or answer their phones. Total scam.
3. Cleaning service - didn't show up for the appt twice then said I didn't make an appointment. Sent email records where they confirmed it. Cleans for an hour and a half not the purchased three and god forbid you ask for anything like cleaning the blinds, too, they don't do that. Pretended I had less vouchers than I did.
4. Another cleaning service. Not horrible like the other but three hours late for appointment (which I had to make a month in advance because they overbooked) and wanted to charge to do dishes or clean stove. No laundry. Mediocre.
dont back up shoddy products like groupon does
I HATE KGB DEALS. Customer service is non-existent! The deal I purchased didn't work, the dining card a scam and then they said I used the movie vouchers when I didn't. It was a disaster. I asked for a refund 3 months ago. What a scam. I don't care its only 23bucks, its the principle of the matter. Thats my money, the coupon was a scam and couldn't be used. Definitely do not recommend KGB deals.
I've had 3 consecutive bad experiences with KGB Deal offers. The fault was with the vendors that they contract to offer deals. These vendors are not well vetted or held accountable, and KGB Deals is slow to respond if at all. Vendor deals have either been borderline scams or at the very least negligent in provided the stated product.
They get two stars because finally, after 3 months of emailing and phoning, they refunded to my credit card the amount they promised. It did take many emails (and I forwarded them back to KGBdeals for proof of their promise to refund) and phone calls (most unanswered) and some very angry tones. Absolutely no comparison to the other web site vouchers. Indeed, Groupon and Living Social and Gilt are wonderful. I hope the employees at KGBdeals have a job in a few months. This business is doomed to fail.
I am waiting for my order from Kapello. I actually purchased 3 from them in early November , 2011 since i was so excited about the deal and reviews. I have recieved my last two orders after emailing them a few times but have yet to recieve my first order. Finally, today I attempt to try to resolve the issue by asking kgbdeals for help. KEISHA responded she could not find my e-mail or voucher on record. RED FLAG goes up because i had used my email to log in and get the voucher code for reference to my complaint. Still signed in with my email.i copy and send the voucher link and she still says its not on record when i'm staring at myvoucher on their website. Both times she wrote me and referred to me as MARY,when email and voucher clearly state my name. She said she personally searched for my email and voucher and cannot find it on record but how am i to believe she even tried if she didn't even read my name right. She continued on to tell me to contact them "if" i need further assistance! Well duh! It's not resolved yet. When i responded for a third timecorrecting my name and stating i don't understand how its possible if I myself am logged in with that email and viewing the voucher. I asked if the link i sent work and went on giving my username and contact number. She obviously was over it because the next response was a geneic e-mail "thank you for your feedback blah blah blah BS!" I've made 4 purchases from their website and had trouble with 3/4. Never again kgbdeals. I'm sticking with groupon and living social. The only other time i had a prob was one of livinvsocial vendor closed down before the exp. Date. I called livingsocial, they apologized and refunded me immediately case was settled in less than 5 min. Now thats customer service that keeps me loyal. LEARN FROM THEM KGBDEALS. ,

I'm a big web user and a web designer so I have a lot of understanding when it comes to the web. Although I had not heard of KGB Deals before I gave it a try when I found a deal on slickdeals for a New Years Eve party. We had purchased the tickets a few days before 12/31. We had instructions to redeem them on the website to essentially "reserve" our slot. I got the email with our vouchers (we bought 4 all together) and below that were instructions. First off, the link for the page to redeem them was incorrect in our email we received. Then when I figured out the page on the venue's website and followed the instructions step by step they were not working. We tried getting someone on the phone. We were told to use the voucher code as a "coupon". From Thursday evening until Friday evening at 7pm we were probably on the phone 5-6 hours all together. It get complicated when you have 1. the site you bought the deal on 2. the website of the place you're using this coupon 3. any third parties involved with either. We called, KGB deals several times. I also submitted emails many times and no response (until after new years eve, which doesn't help). We finally ended up calling the developers of the site of the venue, and THEY helped us out. I cannot tell you how many people we spoke with before we finally found SOMEONE who COULD help us. A word of advice for KGB deals and any business that decides to do something like this: If you're going to make instructions for users, make sure they actually work. And although we ended up getting everything settled, it took way too much time and I would have rather spent more money on the party tickets than waste my time on the phone. I will not be buying through KGB in the future, for now I'll stick with Groupon.
