To all iwon users - I have been an iwon user for years. While I believe that creating teams for people to get behind in the hope of winning money either for their charity of choice or themselves, in an effort to help sponsor teamwork, pride and good clean fun that it was a good ideal. I also realize it has created problems. If I could I would post a general note or blog to all the members of iwon. As it is, because I cannot go invisible nor make my profile private, I request this. Please, delete the team I am on. My reasons are as follows. I am tired of the not so nice notes being left on my profile page by multiple teams. These teams are accusing me of stealing their team mates. These people are also saying that I'm repeatedly dunning on peoples profile page for them to switch from their current team to the one I am on. Supposedly I have no proof that I, nor anyone I am aware of on Feeding America is, has, or ever recruited anyone, ever. If any of us recruited someone who was on another team, we were probable unaware that they were on a team. Talking on chat about, "what team are you on?" & "I'm on such & such team" I did not realize was a type of forced recruiting of a nasty or subversive kind. Asking people who said they were on no team then asking them to "join a team you will be happy with" is also being objected to, despite my thinking it was the most honorable way to recruit. I thought a person who was happy with their chosen cause (self or charity) would make a more dedicated player. I have found a lot of people switch teams, and ask the person who talked to them about the team they are currently on... see above... will switch due to friendship or finding out that there is a team for a charity they believe in strongly that previously unaware of... an example of that would be a vet who is on get me a boat team, finding out that wounded warriors exist. Also some of the people who were leaving not so nice notes on my profile page said I have "no proof that I have not been recruiting previously to this last week." But even thought their team mates "no longer have proof" that 1samna has tried to remove them from the team they enjoy as admitted to me by one hopefully honest person who has been feverish to get me to stop my self and my team mates from trying to recruit from their team. I have asked all my team mates who are or my be recruiting to stop all such activity, due to the fact that since I am the most frequent chat note icon all who go to out team home page assumes that I am the nasty person who is wrongfully in an "unsportsmanlike" manor trying to recruit people who are on other teams, and proceed to leave not so nice notes on my profile. For my stupidity in theses maters I am sorry.
Now that I have addressed the people who are mad at me for the stealing or dunning of their team mates, I wish to address the people who are now mad at me because I have stopped recruiting. I stopped recruiting because it was the only way I could get the unfriendly notes to stop being posted on my profile. I had to stop recruiting, demand my team mates stop recruiting, and to promise to never again recruit in order for notes that left me in tears for days to stop! I am sorry even more for this bad!
Now people are all over my case demanding that I restart and continue to recruit without ceasing, but only people who are not on teams. Daily, multiple times a day, I get notes from people who are trying to "encourage me" to recruit for the life of the team. My team has been the same basic size for months on end. I recruited for my team specifically for all of two days in an angry response to the unsettling not so nice accusations of my supposed recruiting methods. Those two days cost me a lot of note space, 8 hrs worth the 1 day. I have deleted most of those notes. The team got 3 newbies the first day. 2 more came on board the next day from that first day's efforts, and 2 more people have come on board since then, but only after I stopped my efforts. I have told the people who are after me to continue my recruiting efforts that I will NOT recruit anymore and why. That was not good enough for any of them. I also told them I refuse to restart again, and again. But, like the people who basically metaphorically road my $#*! till I quit recruiting, they are determined to ride my $#*! till I start recruiting again. I believe now that as long as I am recruiting, or at least look like I am recruiting they know that the not so nice note will continue to show up mostly on my profile and keep the heat off them. Again I am sorry for upseting people over this!
Now part of the fault lies with me, and unlike others I am willing to admit this not only to one of the people who accused me of unsportsmanlike conduct, but also to team iwon and all of the iwon membership. When I I received notes that left me feeling attacked I responded. The first time I erased the notes and asked someone on team iwon to look into it, and delete what I then referred to as my team. For months after that every time I received more notes of an accusatory nature I deleted, without reporting. Then this last month when I received a note, which I also deleted but also cut & past the majority of on team page, I got so angry and tearful I told others what happened to me, and specifically by whom. This I found out by multiple members of that team was not only wrong of me, but were lies that were to stop immediately, and unsportsmanlike. I had before seeing the 1 note changed my tone, and admitted that multiple teams were sending "nasty" notes my way, but refused to state which team(s) they were coming from, nor what team I was on. For these bads I am sorry!
I realize now that part of the problem lies in my understanding of the English language, and how I use my words differ from how others understand usage of those same words. As my PhD encrusted brother puts it, "We use the dictionary definition of the word, and most other people use the street definition of that same word. I really find it funny when they say something thinking it means one thing, knowing full well that what they think they are saying and what they are actually saying are two entirely different things." While he may think it if funny, it has cause grievous misunderstanding between me and other iwon users. I there fore will take full blame for being stupid and the cause of these misunderstandings. For these misunderstanding I am SORRY!
One of the people who are now demanding that I restart my recruiting effort says I am being childish and lied to for saying that the teams who are objection to her leaving join my team notes on their members profile pages are right that she has done that, and I know it is true because I have seen it. I probably don't know what I am looking at, And I am Sorry again for upsetting these people! Another is telling me that I should continue because I must be doing what is right because the would not be complaining if I was wrong. If, she is right, then which tack is right, to recruit & get attacked, or not to recruit and get attacked... they can't both be right, or can they. What the people who are attacking me for stopping my efforts are failing to realize is that I have the right to do what I feel is best for ME. I starting recruiting partly because I was angry, and partly under the advice of several people whom I considered friends advised me that if I'm going to be attacked for it I might as well be doing it. Boy was that BAD advice, not doing it got me ½ the attacks of doing it. Stopping got the attacks tripled by the pro recruit people. So, my contention is this, let me make MY choice and don't bagger, attack, harass, threaten, or leave nasty notes on my page because my choice dose not suit you. If notes other than a friendly sort are left on page other than iwon personnel warning me that I have committed a grievous mistake that will get my account deleted if that behavior continues I will personally be deleting my account with iwon. It saddens me that it may come to this because a few people from many teams refuse to stop behavior that is offensive to others when asked. Also, because others cannot or will not realize that some people will change teams, due to that too being human nature and not a crime perpetrated on them by others. I am sorry! I'm Sorry, I'm sorry!
Respectfully and sadly sent,
1samna
