I love this travel club membership! I saved hundreds of dollars on my hotels in Fort Lauderdale, FL and Cancun, MX. Even with the exchange rate from $CAD to $USD I still saved more than if I had booked on Expedia, Booking.com, Travelocity, Hotels.com or Tripadvisor. Also booked activities in Cancun that were cheaper than you could buy on the other websites. Will definitely keep using Hotels Etc. membership. The $99 USD for the yearly membership is definitely worth the money even if you don't travel a lot: 0)

Looking for a cheap ticket today I found Hotels Etc by chance. Staying at the villotel vacation was the best thing we could have done for a family getaway. The villas are centrally located yet away from the madness of noise and crowds. Spacious and beautiful the villa has a private pool and lush greenery all round. The kitchen has all you need and Man Friday is there to get you what you want. Happening places like Thalassa are walking distance. Whether you go right or left you are at your destination in less than 15 minutes. Napoleon is like a conjurer who will get you what ever you need. So this time try something different than a hotel. Bond, chill, eat, drink, make merry and have a whale of a time

I booked a hotel room for 2 days in Sacramento. California. This was last minute and I was able to save $20 below the best deal on other sites. Then I was greatfull when I saw that the listed price on the reservation counter was $100 higher per night? Huge savings.

We travel often and have never had a problem with Hotelect., sometimes the provider tries to put you up in a less desirable room ( handicapped) ect! They will generally accommdate if you complain!

I have taken the time to compare Hotels Etc with other leading sites. Hotels Etc always gives me the lowest price and finds Hotels off the beaten path. I love that I can filter by amenities too. Helps find the greatest places!

So, I recently got invited to join this membership access discount travel site, and had some time to take a whirl.

This company is called Hotels Etc. The way they work is that they have several search engines within their site so you can search for the best deal. Here's the good and the bad of how its set up.

Lets start with the bad. In order to get these discounts that are lower than other travel sites, you have to pay a membership fee of $199 a year, which, in my opinion, is fairly reasonable. The problem is that once you gain access to their site, you spend a lot of time searching through each of their "search engines" to compare which one gives the best deal. I think its a bit annoying more than anything if I paid a membership, but then I spend so much time searching to find a deal that I get discouraged. So, overall, if they were to be able to combine all their search engine in an easy to use single search, the user experience will be much, much greater.

Now aside from the above mentioned, if you put you time into it. You will definitely find discounts on hotels, etc. through one of their search engines. Here's the catch tho, if you previously found the best rate on their "red" search engine, it might not be the case for another hotel, so you must search through all of their search engines provided. As another thing to mention, I have corporate discounts from my day-to-day job, which has deals that beat Priceline, Travelocity, Kayak, etc. and Hotels Etc. does give a bit better deal than my corporate discount site, which is nice.

Overall, if you dont have access to any corporate discount sites, and are willing to put in some time to navigate Hotels Etc. site and search through their search engines, this may be something to consider in saving some money while travelling.
