When they kept giving me the run around about returning a defective Blanco sink, and after months and months of trying to get my money back to no avail, I turned to the Illinois Attorney General's office who did some investigation. They found that this company is not reputable and has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau! Run away from this company as fast as you can!

Homecenter.com is a cleverly disguised drop ship business. They attract as many customers as possible with low prices, then attempt to collect large drop ship fees or order cancellation fees. Homecenter.com is rated F (lowest rating) by the New York Better Business Bureau.

The Danze bathroom faucets that I ordered were advertised to be in stock but turned out to be discontinued and no longer available from Danze. After 3 weeks, Homecenter canceled the order with Danze without fee to them, but charged me a 40% cancellation fee (25% for restocking + 15% for return authorization). This was despite the fact that the product was never stocked, never shipped, and never returned by anyone.

Don't let their advertised low prices fool you. You'll be very sorry if you place an order with Homecenter.com.

I'm 68, and this is the worst seller I've dealt with in my life! They're advertised as a "money saving" site. Baloney! I placed an order for a kitchen faucet on April 14th, and heard nothing from them on the 24th, I sent an e-mail, which stated the faucet was ordered, and I would be receiving it in about a week. No tracking info still! I tried to call numerous times, but no one answers! Their automated phone system directs you to a "customer service" provision. When that's answered you're asked to enter the 4 digit number of the person you're calling. How would I know that, since I've yet to ever speak with anyone. Then I e-mail them on April 30th that I want to cancel my order. (I've found it at a site where I can have it in 4 days for less money). I get an e-mail back stating "Don't just assume your order is canceled." I then contact my American Express representative and file a complaint. During this time I'm still calling them to no avail. Very shortly after they send the "don't assume" e-mail, I am contacted by Brian Olkin who tells me I must apply for a return number, and the wait could be up to 15 days for them to even decide if I'll get one! By now, I've ordered the faucet, and received it from the other vendor, and it's installed on my kitchen sink.

On May 14th the faucet arrives from Homecenter.com About 7 days later I get another e-mail from Mr Olkin issuing a return item number, and pointing out that there will be a 25% restocking fee! (not mentioned up front) What was mentioned up front was, if I wanted my order sooner, it could be drop shipped from the manufacturer for an additional $29. I never did reach "customer service." I left my phone number with Brian Olkin each time I e-mailed him and asked him to return my call and reverse the charges, but no soap! They have no 1-800 number (to save you money), and every call you make will result in a long distance charge.

I know now that I should have checked E-pinions, or other rating sites first! They contain a litany of bad feedback dealing with poor customer service, excessive restocking charges, and even some claiming their credit card number was used to purchase unauthorized items and services after dealing with Homecenter.com

Mr Olkin has a problem. He thinks nothing is his fault, and allows every complaint to roll off his back. He apparently has large gaps between his thought process and reality.

Ps: I kept the $176 faucet they sent me, rather than take the pipe for $46 in restocking fees + shipping of about $15.
Anyone who shops here must be insane! (hundreds of Better Business complaints on file)

My faucets finally arrived, but not without great effort.
I placed two separate orders for a shower head and a faucet rather than combining them because I saw "free shipping" listed on the product pages. I ordered the faucet the next morning and found out then that when you roll your mouse over "free shipping," it says "on orders over $99." I placed the order anyway, and called the customer service number. Twenty minutes later I gave up and wrote an email trying to get the orders combined. I got an automated response telling me nothing. I called several more times, never getting past the hold music. A month after ordering, and several more emails, I got a short response that indicated they were going to work on it. After two weeks I asked about it again, and again got a short response indicating progress.
In the mean time I had received the faucet, but the showerhead was on back order for a month. Arg. At six weeks after ordering I requested tracking info, got a generic response, and found on the web site that it was "in progress." At two months after ordering, it's status was still "in progress." At this point I demanded action on the shipping charges and the arrival of my showerhead. The faucet must have sitting around forgotten, because it shipped shortly after this. I expect I will never hear from them about the shipping charges. I was never once able to speak to a person despite leaving my phone number with every communication, and using their company directory to find several people to leave voice mails with, and finally insisting that they call me to explain the problem.
Thank god nothing was wrong with my faucets; I can't imagine how difficult it would have been to deal with any more problems.
