This service rescued me when I urgently demanded a car to drive. You easily choose th pick up and drop off locations, as well as specify precise time period, and you can enjoy a wide selection of cars of different classes. That is what I liked the most about Hertz. As far as I know the service is represented not in every state but I was in Florida, so grabbed this chance and again thank you very much for saving my life, LITERALLY!
Long story short Hertz would not refund my account after dropping the car off early I talked to numerous hertz customer service people who all assured me I'd have my money back within 7-10 business days - I asked to speak to the supervisor Earnie who said you were refunded yesterday -if it's not in your account take it up with your bank- and hung up on me, so I did my bank got me my money back - two months later Hertz sent me to collections for the exact amount they owed me. 9 month ordeal still going on.

Despicable company that tried to get my money although i never signed anything with them. They told me later that they own Firefly car hire who also tried to grab my money. They referred the issue to debt collectors! Without even reviewing my case or answering my emails. Didnt even want to talk to me on the phone. It was a result of a VISA credit dispute that resulted in my favour. 6 Months later Hertz popped up and want that money back without answering any of my questions regarding this issue. Thinking serious legal action against them and their side kick eos debt collectors

As a loyal member of Hertz's Gold Plus Rewards President's Circle, I had always expected a seamless and hassle-free experience with them. However, my recent encounter at the Nashville TN Airport branch left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated.
First and foremost, upon arriving at the rental counter, I was dismayed to find that I was not given the option to choose my vehicle, as I had been in the past. Instead, I was simply handed keys without any consideration for my preferences or needs. This lack of personalized service was a stark departure from my previous experiences with Hertz.
To make matters worse, upon receiving my final bill, I was shocked to discover a charge of $615 that had not been previously agreed upon. Despite being a President's Circle member, I was subjected to this exorbitant "upgrade" fee without any justification. Apparently you are charged for the guaranteed one-car class upgrade that is listed as a perk.
Adding insult to injury, my attempts to contact a live agent to address these issues were met with frustration. Every phone number I called directed me to the Hertz app or website, leaving me unable to speak with a real person to resolve my concerns.
Overall, my experience with Hertz at the Nashville TN Airport was extremely disappointing. As a loyal customer, I expect better treatment and transparency, especially as a member of the President's Circle. Moving forward, I will be exploring other rental car options and cannot recommend Hertz at this location to fellow travelers or my company's travel department.
I worked for Hertz Rental Car in Redwood City as a driver. There was a little clerical
Mishap concerning my paycheck. Hertz supervisors made good on it in an exceptionally
Kind and generous fashion. And the local office was very nice to work for. If these are
Examples of Hertz style, then I say "get on the road with Hertz!"
Preferible no usar Hertz nunca jamás.
I typically rent from Enterprise, however, Hertz has the Shelby GT Mustang and I wanted to do a weekend test drive. Making the reservation, picking up, and returning was a breeze. My issue is the car has been locked down with a speed limit of 80, no cruse control, and the radio set to a max volume that can not be heard with the top down. There is no disclaimer of the above online or at pickup. I have rented other Hertz cars and they were not restricted. I will keep with Enterprise for their sports cars going forward, and recommend you do the same.
I was driving your rental when a 6 ft tractor retread came at me and I couldn't avoid it without causing a deadly accident. Damage happened to the car. The amount of fees you are charging me for this are insane. You are robbing me for your cost of doing business. It is unethical and a completely ignorant way to do business.
Not only will I never use hertz again but I will be discouraging everyone I know to ban hertz.
The amount of social media posts I will be making will cause even more to go elsewhere. You also charged me for a toll and I was never on a toll road.
You seem to think you can just use my credit card as though you pay the bill.
You are a rip off unethical and ignorant company not to mention your total lack of customer service as I have been trying to contact your claims department and never get a call back or a live person to speak with.
I rented a midsize SUV from Hertz via Hotwire.com at the ATL airport on 4-11-2024 for $88.87. While at the counter, I was asked the standard questions about insurance, gas, etc. I was never asked if I wanted to upgrade my selected vehicle. When I received the emailed bill, I noticed that I had been charged for an upgraded SUV that I never asked for and was never informed I was getting. When checking out of the rental center, I also noticed that the gas gauge was showing less than a full tank. When I asked the lady about this, she told me not to worry about it and to just bring it back with the same amount. They have to know that this would be next to impossible because you would have to add gas, stop, check the gauge, and repeat multiple times to get it where it was. I also figured if I brought it back less than a full tank, they would attempt to charge me the $10.67 per gallon they charge to add gas to an under filled return.
Once I received the email receipt and saw that I had been charged an additional $105.21 for an upgrade I did not request or consent to. I filed a complaint with Hertz Customer Care. Today I received a reply back from them basically saying that it was my fault for not reading the rental agreement fully before signing it. They took no responsibly for upgrading me without my knowledge or consent. This is insane to claim that I should have read the entire rental contract prior to leaving the counter. They have now charged me $193 for a vehicle I had for less than 8 hours.
I do a lot of traveling and have rented a lot of vehicles. I have been asked multiple times if I wanted to upgrade, and I have been upgraded for free many times when they don't have the size vehicle I reserved, but I have NEVER been charged for an upgrade that I neither asked for or consented to. I will go out of my way to never rent from Hertz again.
I am retired 67 year old living off a pretty meager pension and cannot afford these tactics by an employee of Hertz. I have filed complaints with both the Georgia Attorney Generals office and the BBB.
When picking up my reserved vehicle at Barcelona airport I was asked if I wanted personal insurance coverage. I declined the coverage but the agent slipped it in the contract anyways. Lesson learned: always look at all the details before signing a rental agreement, no matter how long it takes. This lesson cost me 120 Euros for useless insurance.

In three recent Hertz rentals, they had no cars available despite taking my reservation and my being a President's Circle member. In each case, a bunch of other people were also left without cars. The manager at the one in NYC said he thinks this is the company policy despite it being illegal in New York. Sounds like an opportunity for another class action lawsuit against Hertz. I guess leaving their customers stranded without a car is better than having them arrested for stealing a car that they rented!
I went online and reserved a Tesla for $50 a day for two days. When I arrive this morning to pick the car up, there was no Tesla and the only thing available was something super expensive in comparison. I feel like this company is very deceitful and uses and abuses their customers. So sick of these large companies getting away with all their lying deceptive practices and schemes.
I worked in the call center in Oklahoma City.
This is a place that requires a disciplined individual to successfully work here, and most people in the age group they usually hire, people in their 20s, don't have that.
The first thing our training group noticed and openly commented on was when reviewing the handbook that the company seemed to be out to get their employees. Admittedly, being only 24 years old I didn't have the level of maturity they were demanding in the job, but it wasn't going to work anyways because of the petty nitpicking.
Because of this, they went on hiring binges at the first of every year. People would quit during the year, and they wouldn't replace them until they started hiring again the next year leaving themselves with a skeletal crew by year-end.
I had people in the building ratting me out and even people at the rental locations tracking my supervisor done when I advised customer of the wrong information.
After four months, I could see I attracted too much negative attention. I went into the office at the start of my shift and said I was quitting right in front of a group of new hires that just happened to be there.
I now make over $200K per year and have never rented a car from Hertz. They usually don't have the best rates anyway.

Hertz, Dollar Car Rental and Thrifty Car Rental are all owned by the same corporate SCUMBAGS that SCAM people when renting cars BUYER BEWARE! I will go to the ends of the Earth to make sure EVERYONE knows what a SCAM Thrifty is! Upon arriving for my rental ("Manager's Special"), the attendant took my credit card and ID for a rental that I reserved, checked in via text the day prior, ALL at $169... He ('Jay' at Portland Airport) handed me back my card and a receipt for $536. I ADDED NOTHING... He said the online reservation (THROUGH Thrifty Car Rental 's website, NO THIRD PARTY) was "just an estimate"... So, my car went from $169 to $536? Yup! BUYER BEWARE! When I questioned Jay, he became so upset, he ripped my receipt out of my hand, told me he is refusing to rent to me, and now three days later, they still have a hold on my card. Refused to let me speak to a manager, refused to tell me a manager's name, took my name and number and said they would call me... NOTHING. This company is nothing but CROOKS!

Never take the car from Hertz, they are more than double the price of the market.
If you are planning to book one at the airport, it is better to reach your destination by Uber and book through any other local company.
Before you realize they are looting you, you will be well under a lot of money and will repent.
I am telling you from my personal experience, that after paying over 4300$ in two weeks I realized the same could have been done maximum of USD 600.
Never, Hertz, we get under the impression of Tesla and all through them but it is all a trap. Worst company to take car rental from.
I took Tesla and lost my Key, I called the call center they told me USD250, and to take a replacement, when I went to take a replacement they charged me USD400 dollars for the key, and the person at Newark airport in the Gold member area was damn rude. When I said okay I will return the car, this person charged me a full week despite I returned in one day, I did not realize it earlier, but after a few minutes when left, ran back to him what he did.
No apologies nothing, he just said "O" and then adjusted it. As if he is doing a favor to me.
First, we stand in the queue every time for over an hour, where one person will be there who is least interested in working and above that charges you exorbitant money and loots you.
My advise do whatever but keep away from HERTZ.

Car rented from Hertz Toulouse airport for 4 days, on my return I was 1hour late due to heavy traffic at that day. I was shocked to see I got a charged 1 additional day of rental with an exorbitant rate equivalent to the 4 days rental. So simply I paid double the original bill for 1 hour delay. Very disappointed and feel raped by hertz, certainly it will be my last rental with them.
Rented a car for 6 days and on day one, tire issue's. Then tire issues all week and with many calls to Hertz no one ever answered & voicemail was full so couldn't even leave a message. I called several numbers and even selected road side service needed but again no answer nor option to leave message because vm was full...so disappointed with our whole experience...AND NO ONE TO TALK TOO ABOUT IT...Never again and will share with over 300 people I just work with not including entire family and friends.

It was a pleasure working with Jozsef Johnson. It started with greeting me at the door as I approached the office. Then I noticed how knowledgeable he was about the vehicle I had rented which was a Honda Accord. He made the me feel welcomed which made the transaction process go smoothly. I would recommend that anyone renting from Hertz, please find out the location of Jozsef Johnson. He works to get the job done the first time.

For a 13 days rental, I was deceptively charged $3,497.00 for an upgraded 49,000 miles driven car with poor shocks, bad steering and non-functional USB port. Complaint about the cars performance from the highway went unheeded, as the buck was passed here and there.
In addition to $ 3,497.00, my credit card has been charged an additional amount of $695.00 without any explanation on my receipt as to what this additional charge entails. I could not find the explanation anywhere on Hertz's website either.

Our flight was canceled at New Orleans International Airport so was desperate for a one way car rental to DFW airport. All the other rental car agencies had zero options for our request but Hertz was able to take care of our needs and were able to put us in a nice ride. The rental professional at the counter was extremely helpful and one of the kindest people I've ever met, her name was Lisa. So if ever in New Orleans in need of a rental car i would advise you to go see Lisa at Hertz rental, you will not be disappointed i promise.

I do not even want to give the Bozeman Montana Hertz Rental even one star! The customer service was so bad. The girls I dealt with Lynn and Christina were so rude and disrespectful! I searched Hertz.com for a vehicle for our trip to Yellowstone a year in advance and confirmed a car for one week of $575.68. When we arrived at Bozeman they said that when I reserved the car I used a code for a company called Woodforest. I had no idea what she was talking about. I reserved the car by going to www.hertz.com. They said that if I could not show proof of working for that company I would have to start all over again. Which I had to do and they charged me $1274.56 for the new reservation. They accused me of stealing because they said I tried to use a code that was not allowed for me. I believe this is a scam and they add the code to everyone's reservation to trap you into reserving again! You are on your trip already and need the car what else are you to do but of course start over and they double charge you. They said the manager was on a vacation out of the country and nothing would be resolved until they got back. I never heard back from the Manager ever. I have had to call back every time. No one ever returned an email or phone call. NEVER EVER use Hertz. Check the reviews! The reviews are terrible! There is even a Facebook page called Hert Rent a Car Sucks! Now I know why!

Their customer service is horrible. They'll send an e-mail 3-5 business days later after an inquiry stating that they have a high influx of e-mails so they take a long time to reply then just tell you to call a 1-800 # and remain on the line for 10-15 minutes. Their e-mails are ALWAYS saying sorry for the inconvenience but the messages are completely automated. I cancelled my reservation at the end of the 15 minute call.
I hired a hertz rent a car to pick up in their branch in Malta. I found additional damage other than what they had put on form. Before moving the vehicle i took several photos of the damage and the additional one. On returning the car they informed me that they would be taking 450 euros out of my account for the extra damage ie 3/16 of an inch paint chip.
I sent several emails protesting my innocence on this but received no reply then without my permission they took the money out if my account this us tantamount to theft. I will never use Hertz malta again and am involving agencies to help return of my money. I am appalled that Hertz malta cantreat a customer like this.
Today, I spoke with Tyshawna at the customer service center and she was amazing! I have to tell you, I have had a lot of stress lately, and after I hit a deer in the rental car, I was pretty devastated. Also, it seems as if I wasn't getting anywhere with any calls I was making to the insurance, etc, so I had expected that this call would be much the same as I had been experiencing- either not helpful at all or flat out rude. I was wrong. Tyshawna was extremely helpful, understanding, and pleasant. I hope Hertz knows that they have a good one with her!
We originated the car rental industry. We'll never stop innovating it.
