On Tuesday 4th April 2023 I purchased a Pancake Parlour Knox: Choice of Breakfast for Two People for $23.90. When I went to the Pancake Parlour Knox and I had a Traditional Bacon and Eggs with hash browns and no Bacon with a Vienna Hot Chocolate but the eggs were raw because as soon as I got home I had diarrhoea because they obviously were deliberately trying to food poison me. It was extremely nice of Groupon to refund me as a once off goodwill gesture since I got sick from eating the meal.

If i could leave 0 stars i would.If youre smart you will completely avoid this company! I paid tickets for a festival to be rejected at the door and had to pay double the price of the ticket I purchased, while my friends paid a lot less. Everyone at the festival with a groupon ticket couldn't get in. Now they are apologising and not trying to refund me. Why they apologising? You sold a faulty ticket to a customer, we don't want apologies but our money back. They should really reimburse the difference but looks like just getting a refund is hard enough. Complete scammers. Customer service is a joke they don't want to deal with it at all

My wife purchased 2 Groupon vouchers for a family kayaking activity (for my birthday) in Brisbane. We booked via Groupon's online booking tool and received confirmation email.
When we arrived, the business had no record of our booking. As the session was fully booked we were turned away. We then had 3 hours to kill until our dinner reservations.
I contacted Groupon immediately and explained the situation, asking for a refund as my birthday had passed. We spent the next 5 weeks writing dozens of emails and using the online chat function. Groupon used lots of dishonest tactics (changing reps in the middle of online chats; failing to respond within timeframes they promised; offering a credit on their UK website!).
They have begrudgingly agreed to a full refund after threats of legal action were made.
You don't need to take the risk of using Groupon. Please learn from my mistake!

Twice now I have been given a Groupon voucher for a present. The first time it was for a nail salon and the salon refused to allow me to use it saying that they will not use Groupon vouchers and I'm thinking how come the voucher was even able to be purchased. Groupon would not allow for it to be refunded! Loss of money and of the service! So frustrating and disappointing! Customer support was useless and they don't listen to the issue or make efforts to rectify it. The second time the website would not recognise the voucher code and claimed that there was no voucher listed with this code! When I raised this issue in an email and in the live chat they said there was nothing they could do because I was not the person who purchased the voucher! Obviously as it was a gift! This should not even be relevant as it was a gift for me therefore now belongs to me so I should be entitled to the "correct" code. It's absurd to think they claimed "confidentiality" as the issue! It seems like just an excuse to scam people out of money while refusing to provide the experience paid for. My family overseas thought this would be a great easy way to gift a variety of unique experiences and all of us have been extremely disappointed with the problems that have arisen and frustrating with the lack of help from Groupon employees. Don't waste your time.

I have used them 3 times, and the first 2 times things went fairly smoothly. But when I had trouble redeeming the 3rd lot of vouchers (with a different merchant- myphotobox), there was silence from them - you can't talk to anyone directly - it's all by email, mostly automated from them. They had the gall to send me a "how would you rate our service" email, but the "I am not happy" link would not connect! Cute. I reckon I've done my dough. Avoid them. Not worth taking the risk.

I ordered couple of automatic toothpaste dispensers. They never got processed even after 6 weeks of waiting and I am still waiting. There is no way to email or contact Groupon and it is a con. They will never consider an exchange or refund once purchased and paid, and once paid, you are trapped, these guys don't know what customer service is and will cheat you to their advantage. STAY AWAY from their website www.groupon.com.au

Tip for consumers:
Stay away - they see dodgy deals and products and won’t refund if anything goes wrong.

Pur service bf due to covid requirement could not attend, got credit for refund, after I full vaxed, used that credit to pur Groupon voucher - K-art Beauty the 3D eyebrow permanent tattoo. Attended 3rd Feb 2022. Kim was lack of due care n unskilled, as result it is awful, even worse than I draw each day - both sides are "imbalance" 1. One side is too closer to the middle, and 2. Higher than other side, 3. Eyebrows are "too thick" I told her that my eyes are small, do not want too thick eyebrows, if need trim pls do so. But she lied to me that drawing will be thinner than actual done. And She did not use any measurement when drawing my eyebrows just basis on her eyes adjustment. I requested full refund next day. Groupon asked me to get approval fm the vendor myself for refund! The vendor of course refused and lied that I did not attend. I proofed the confirm of booking text, and proof the voucher was redeemed on that day on my Groupon a/c. But Groupon still no refund me. A staff responded my review left n given me another email to contact but "never response". He only do for the readers to see but no really fixing my issue. I want to advice readers, never accepted refund as credit in groupon a/c, as once had issue for the new purchase by using the credit, Groupon takes all the controls, but if you paid via credit card or paypal, you will have purchase protection. You can see how bad of the groupon reviews each websites. I do not recommend using Groupon.

Wrong things delivered and expensive items were not able to contact customer service and when I did they never got back to me. I'm still waiting after 7 weeks to get something returned that came in the wrong colour. Wasn't even cheaper than a legitimate website and now I have the ring thing and can't get my $1000 back?

I have been using Groupon for years, in Australia and overseas.
For the first time that I am having an issue with a purchased item and gave feedback and complain about it I did not get any support, return or refund. This experience was extremely disappointing and unsatisfying.

I ordered a SOFA BED 2 IN 1, worse purchase ever made, bad quality, extremly uncomfortable. When buying a sofa, you do expect to be sitting comfortably and relax on it. This one in particular, you can not.
Consequently, I have a sofa now that I can not use, waisting handred of dollars and Groupon that does not care for customer support/ help.

Just wanted to share my story and help further customer by letting now what is happening, if you receive bad goods from Groupon. Do not expect anything.

Tip for consumers:
Do not buy on Groupon! You will be disappointed and will waste your money if you are not happy with your purchase

Bought spa voucher but couldn't attend due to COVID. Was not given refund but credit.

Used credit to buy shoes which appeared to have my size in stock. Got delivered wrong size and refused refund.

Don't waste your money honestly. These guys should actually be shut down. I can't believe the ACCC let's these guys operate.

Purchased a car wash, was the second one I purchased. And forgot about it as I'm busy with work. Recently remembered and think it should be all right as I haven't received any service they should be able to at least refund that to credit. Read some T/C and said during this covid19 (altho when it comes to my deal, I purely forgot about it, so the expiry has nothing to do with covid19 honestly), they are working to help customers refund the expired vouchers into credit. But when I contacted the online customer support, get a simply answer, no, sorry, it can't be refunded. Yes, I'm sure, sorry about it.
Great, $99 is not a big money, but great it persuade me out of any further groupon deal, never groupon again. Spending more money supporting our local businesses, not a problem, but let this kind of nasty company to make benefits between consumers and merchants, a big NO.

I had almost the same problem as the person above me with a massage voucher. I was given the run-around both by Groupon and by the massage company, who changed their number and changed their address before I could redeem the voucher! I have picked up a couple of good deals with them, but it just doesn't seem to be run very well.

Most purchases from groupon have been successful, but very disappointed that they still deal with Nelias beauty saloon in perth. There are so many bad reports about this business regarding services not being delivered. So disappointing that groupon does not vet the businesses it advertises

Another one bites the dust!
I purchased a GROUPON voucher for my 6 grandkids to visit a waterpark in Southport QLD and did so online. I paid my $198 for the vouchers and received the email immediately showing the activity, amount paid and the date of purchase. I couldn't book a specific date and was advised that I could do so online. NO REFERENCE WHATSOEVER was made to an expiry date on the confirmation page but a tab to make the booking was available. As this was a gift, I sent the voucher to my daughters to coordinate. I purchased this on 16/4/23. By the time my daughters got onto this after the school holiday, a week or so later, they discovered that the activity had expired on 23/4/23. This expiry information was embedded in the text only once the booking had been opened beyond the confirmation page.

I contacted Groupon and received their standard "so sorry but we can't help you page" and have since re-contested this.

UNLESS THIS MATTER IS RESOLVED, I will be raising this matter with AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS and will publish the name, phone number and person I speak to at Consumer Affairs as I'm sick and tired of these RIP OFF merchants getting away with this deceptive nonsense.

I ordered a weighted blanket from this mob and Couriers Please could not understand my address and sent it back. Now they can not find it so I have had to ask for my money back. Lets see how long it takes for that to happen.

Tip for consumers:
They use Couriers Please who do not know how to locate a normal address. My product was returned 3 times to the sender. What a joke. Do not waste your time. Shop elsewhere.

I ordered a cabinet from Groupon and waited three months but it never arrived. After complaining numerous times online and on live chat, Groupon "investigated" for six weeks but never came to any result. I will not buy anything further from Groupon and their unreliable suppliers.

The specials advertised are not trustworthy, please do your research first! The groupon claimed that we'd save 43% on a buffet for 4 people. But after going to the restaurant, we realized that they have the same buffet advertised for $10 less on their menu! Support was unhelpful, only providing generic answers and claims of 'market fluctuation' but I find it hard to believe that there can be a difference of over 40% due to 'market fluctuation'...

Do not order from this company. They take your money but do not deliver the purchased items. They then make it near impossible to contact them to chase up your order. A refund is impossible.

I purchased a box of wine and received the incorrect ones. They are slow to respond to emails (now more than six days) with no resolution. Sent photos as proof of wrong delivery and their "online chat" they say they will investigate with their supplier and still no response four days later. They will not resend the correct order until their supplier has proof of return of the incorrect wine. My contract was with Groupon, not their supplier, yet I will need to take unpaid time of work to take the wine to a post center to return the wine to fix their mistake. Due to security of the wine it can not be left outside of the house for their courier to collect, especially when they could not give a time when the courier would be able to collect it. They have my money for the incorrect goods, yet they want me at my cost and time to sort their mistake out. Groupon appear to have no phone support with the only means of contact is on line which they then are extremely slow at responding to and treat you as a inconvenience for their business. There is lack of follow through or urgency on their part with no one being responsible or accountable to resolve a problem. Perhaps by making it so difficult to deal with them they hope you may give up. There is no possible way I could recommend dealing with Groupon or recommend them to any of my friends. Even a rating of one star for their customer service is too generous.

Do not purchase Groupon Australia deals!

GROUPON MEAL VOUCHER_ SAILMAKER RESTAURANT, SYDNEY

I purchased a Groupon a discount voucher for a $95 meal at the Hyatt hotel, Sailmaker Restaurant. A booking was made for the 25th April. Due to the current virus situation the restaurant is closed. I was coming down to Sydney for the weekend. There have been numerous ( 6) communications between Groupon & myself and all they will offer is a credit for future use. To travel to Sydney from Terrigal by public transport takes nearly 3 hours. I rarely go to Sydney at my age, consequently why would I attempt a 6 hour round trip to Sydney for a meal. My elementary understanding is that the original contractual arrangements I entered into with Groupon have not been met. I have now taken the matter up with NSW Fair Trading and they are investigating. I suggest other people do the same. It's easy__ just fill out the form online._ no cost.

I recently bought 20 coupons for a service. When the vendor accepted only one, I requested refund of the remainder. Groupon refunded 7, but cancelled 9. No amount of explaining by phone, chat or email made a difference. They kept apologising but insisted that all had been refunded.

Paid for an item 16 days ago, haven't received it. Got in contact with the unheard of delivery service that my package was sent via and they are incredibly unprofessional. The emails i have gotten from them seem like they were written by a 10 year old. Then they said they sent my package through australian post but will not give me a tracking number nor item number. Groupon won't give me a refund as it has 'already been sent'. After a certain amount of time if i still haven't received it then they will give me a groupon refund to spend on their website which i don't want! Last year i paid for a spa package then called up to make an appointment to which the woman replied angrily that their business has been used as a scam on groupon, they are still advertising the same business on their website to this day! It really pisses me off.

We booked this holiday through groupon, as a tour package called 777. Actual COST $777 each X3
We live in Sydney, but booked Melbourne to China, even though we'd have to pay for domestic flights too, as Sydney was sold out, but we thought it'd be worth it as the deal was so cheap. We contacted SNA many times to find out the actual day the flight leaves, always they said, we're not Sure probably 7th or 8th November.
Finally we get confirmation after months of calling, that the flight is on the 8th Nov, and flights always leave in the afternoon around 4 to 5 pm so you'd be safe to get there about 12-1pm
Many times we asked SNA to send confirmation of tickets to both adults emails we originally gave, as the phone with one of the email addresses is shattered, and we're locked out of the email, as we don't have email password nor original phone number, they continuously ignored our request to do so.
After they confirmed the flights for 8th Nov in July /Aug, we booked flights melbourne, for the 7th. And hotel. Two months after they confirmed the flights for 8th Nov, a women from SNA, called me in Sept, and said, "sorry, your travel dates have been changed for the 7th of November, i started bawling my eyes out, crying "but you told us that it's definitely the 8th of Nov, and we've already booked domestic flights to melbourne for the 7th, and hotel. Eventually she got back and said, 'yes it's ok your flights are now confirmed for the 8th again" I asked, where is the tickets, I've given you the correct email address 6 times, still we received nothing
That's when I really started to panic and called groupon, in October, telling them of the situation, how I feel they can't be trusted, changing dates and ignoring both our request for plane tickets ect to be sent to correct email. Groupon didn't care less, stating the vouchers had been redeemed in August already by merchant, no refund allowed
This is where it gets really ugly...
The morning of the 8th Nov, I called SNA from the melbourne Hotel, panicking, pleading, "where's our tickets, we've still not received them, he said" your flights have just left, 9am" I cried we were told the flight leaves around 4-5pm!"
He said," your tickets were sent to you via email, in October. I started bawling," nooo you didn't send them, I don't have them, you've made a mistake, and the flights we were told always leave in the afternoon, around 4-5 pm latest"
He asked, who told you this, I told him his name, and stated 'he even said he confirmed with a supervisor "he argued," no he didn't. A woman then took my call and told us to go straight to the airport and explain what happened to the airline, China Southern Airlines. When we got to the airline, we were told by the manager of China Southern, "we can't help you, its our policy, no show no go, we can't arrange another flight, even if there are vacant seats because, its against our policy, call the travel agency. By now we are all bawling our eyes out, trying to explain what SNA had done, but this Chinese man was so cold he didn't CARE, continuing to tell us, "I can't help!". The agency called back, he, the supervisor said, you're just trying to blame someone, the tickets were sent your email address in October... "I had a nervous breakdown,, then and there, and kept repeating, but you didn't send them to the correct email address if you even sent them at all" he then hung up.
My young son was on the floor bawling his eyes out. A help desk referred us to a team of 2 who worked for airport, who help people in crises, to negotiate on their behalf with airlines... But they said China Southern are worst to deal with, ruthless, and have left the office. They then organised for jetstar to change our return flight to Sydney ASAP.
Next flight avail was following day, 12.30 pm. We slept at airport overnight, 30 hours waiting to get home, from a trip to no where, all of us devastated. Total cost lost, $6000+. Visas, passports, hotel, domestic flights, taxis to and from airports, and over 2300 lost through groupon, I can't believe I trusted them after already one bad experience with a merchants false advertisement in groupon, which they refused to remove from their site even after I show them evidence of this illegal advertisement.
Don't trust them, groupon, nor the merchant SNA... when groupon were notified, they asked for details of Events, total expenses lost, dockets ect, to be sent via email to groupon customer support, but before I had the chance to send anything they sent an email saying, not our responsibility, take it up with merchant your tickets were already redeemed in August this year.
When I asked groupon, "why didn't you wait for details of events like you asked?", they sent practically the same previous email. When I then threatened to go to media or lawyer, they replied,
"go to third party, we'll tell them the same thing"
We've all been so depressed for three weeks now, as we saved for this trip for years and lost it all, we feel totally scammed by groupon for ruining what was meant to be, the holiday of a life time for my small family.

Bought Woolworth Money Visa card, and the voucher value was mentioned as $33. It turned out that it is a hoax. Contacted them for refund, and as usual customer service is in PHilippines, and they are not able to help. Not able to speak to anyone from Groupon australia. They refuse the refund even i have not used the voucher.

Complete rubbish offer... Watch out
