Graboid

I have used Graboid for years and been happy. The software now fails to respond and downloading in next to impossible. I have submitted to tech help for support around the issues and you will hear nothing. Further, you can't logon to the forums as your user and password will be refused. My only suggestion is go elsewhere. A shame as it was a good system.

All I get lately is broken videos especially on new stuff, like t v shows, I have been with them a long time. They used to get good stuff, I have downloaded family shows and got porn. When I called them, they promised to screen more carefully, if that's true, they can screen for broken videos and replace them. They say they don't have any control on that.
Not so they just don't care. They are on their way out, I here their is something better on it way

I haven't wrote very many reviews in my life only when im extremely satisfied of unsatisfied and I HATE GRABOID it has went to sh** use to be good but not worth a da** it has become a complete waste of money and we will be canceling it tomorrow there is never any good movies on anymore they have removed a customer service telephone line so all you can do is email and now I hear its nearly impossible to cancel the bast**ds they take MB and give nothing in return trying to download a movie and the program has stopped responding so many times that I gave up and am now writing a review we have been graboid users for close to 3 years but we are done the past 4 months or so it hasn't been worth a $#*!

I had used this program many years ago & it was fine. So I returned, to my disappointment. Don't waste your money and time. I have repeatedly downloaded the Graboid program to no avail. When I did get it to work it would Stop Responding mid way through the download process. So I un-installed & reinstalled at least 6 times in two days.And I have noticed since downloading their program I am experiencing programs with my computer not really sure if this is linked but my computer is only 18 months old. And if you live out side of US remember the exchange rate. In my case I was paying $27 per month.
Not worth it considering experiencing all these problems.
This time I am definitely not returning!

Everyttime I try to download something it locks up. It says failed to download will not respond. Graboid tecnicaial support is also a joke they still have not responded to me.

I've had graboid for a couple of years now, and usually never had a problem, until this year.
Now, after the new version was introduced, I have had nothing but problems!
Every time I attempt to download something, I receive a message stating that the download manager will not start, and have to find another destination in my computer for my downloads.
I have tried everything!, I have tried all they're solutions, and none of them work.
So, everytime I want to download something, I have to uninstall and re-install graboid., I'm paying $20.00 a month for this?, unfortunately there is nothing better to use, netflix is not as good, and can't receive most of the TV shows the next day.
So, I guess I have to keep complaining every day.

I've tried using Graboid several times only to obtain a virus, including twice the Trojan virus. I have a new laptop with Windows 8, & VIPRE security. So I tried starting my laptop after it had been 100% shut down, next I proceeded to my VIPRE security to check the virus status which was 0 or none each time, & next I
Went DIRECTLY to the Graboid site where I choose a movie to watch. At this point every time, my laptop VIPRE security flashed a warning regarding a known virus ranging each time from severe, malicious as in a Trojan virus, or moderate. My advice is to be very cautious, as even if you have security on your computer some don't always advise you like mine does, & some require you to ask to be advised. I love SiteJabber, & use it often to check out companies, & sites. I've always received solid information that I use to help me prior to making a purchase, or using a service, so thank you to everyone at SiteJabber, & too all of you who contribute with reviews etcetera.

I have been using Graboid for a few years now and I have to say that I have been nothing less than pleased with their site! For a few dollars ($4.95) you get about 10,000 MB of bandwith to use to download almost any movie ever made... I say ALMOST because they have some very good (and current) movies to download, but there are some classics that have been out for years that they should have and DON'T. That is the only gripe I have with Graboid really. My wife and I have downloaded a lot of movies from here and STILL haven't watched all of them yet. I say that if you like to watch and download movies, this is the site you really only need.

Graboid is basically a paid file sharing site. With a monthly fee the user gets a certain GB worth of downloads that they can use. Downloads do not carry over month to month. The actual files are, as far as I can tell, the same you would get from a torrent; meaning that some are telesyncs, or other poor quality files, and some don't work at all. The up side is that it takes about 15 minutes to download a movie compared to many hours for torrents. The downside is that if the file you have downloaded doesn't play (a frequent occurrence) you still use up your precious download limit.

The software itself is a resource hog. It is a bit buggy, but is actually spyware free as claimed. The UI is fair, I never found myself too frustrated, but it could be cleaner.

I am not sure about the legality of it all. They are clearly allowing users to download pirated copies of movies and TV. You can get movies that are still in theaters, for example. Some how they have managed to do this for three years and are still going. A warning to users: you are likely breaking the law, while Graboid itself has somehow found a grey area to operate in. But after Pirate Bay and others have been attacked, I have my doubts that Graboid will be around two or three years from now.

When I had my paid service, I was reasonably happy with it. Even with the wasted downloads on junk files, I still had more than I needed. They did auto charge my credit card, but it was easy to cancel the service. They did not do anything shady with the charges. Now you can pay with paypal if you prefer. I did not see any evidence that they sold my email, which makes me happy.

All in all I was pretty pleased with the service. It is the broken files and the questionable legality that subtracts a star. 3/4

I am currently a gold member and have 50GB of bandwidth every month and it's so nice to have no limits, about 1/5-2 hour movies are about 1200MB which isn't too bad and that's close to 50 movies! Highly Recommended.
