I ordered Brandywine tomatoes along with three other varieties and received some kind of pepper plants instead. Anyone can make a mistake. I asked for a replacement for the mixup. Will type another review if they send me the right item this time or not.
I ordered an Angel Trumpet plant from this company in March 2023. It was on back order so I knew it would be awhile before I received it. It arrived today, May 27.2023. The plant was in good condition, but a note was included that indicated they ran out of the lavender color so they sent me a pink one instead. I did not want pink! I called and they will only give you a store credit, which I will not use because I never intend on using this company again! Wish I had read the reviews before ordering, lesson learned! Carolyn
Don't order from Burgess! Last year I wasted almost $200 for plants that did not arrive until well after the planting season for them passed. When they did arrive, they were in very poor condition, with a good bit of mold and slime. No one answers the phone, and their customer service email results in an auto reply, so it is clear no one monitors it. I sent my plants back, but never received a refund. Save yourself some heartache, and order from a reputable company.

I ordered in january. I live in northern Michigan where if you plant tomatoes you need to get plants started indoors at the beginning of April. In spite of emails telling them that all they did was tell me they were expediting my order then delaying it more.i received my order the 1st week of May, too late. I have had a garden for more than 40 years this is the first year I will get no cucumbers, carrots or parsnips because their seeds just would not germinate.

I ordered a plum tree. Cherry tree. Currant plant... blueberry plant and a black elderberry... the black elderberry came broke in half. I planted the roots and it has not even started budding... since it was broke in half. All the other things I ordered are doing great. I did report it came broke. But they never sent me another one. Since when I did report it I had my emails of orders mixed up. Hopefully I can get another one

I Spent $85.50 on two separate orders, both checks cleared my bank. Nothing came from Burgess just a note, telling me something I was waiting on was out of stock. I received a check from them several weeks later for $35.97 and email letting me know they might not be able to return my other amount due to it had already been sent to shipping? I sent a reply, just send me my money please. No one wants to bother with begging for good service, we have a right for it. I paid for it, Right?

I ordered a 4 pack of tomato plants from Burgess seed and plants on May 6,2022. They did not ship them until June 1 and they shipped them by FedEx. It took 14 days for me to receive my plants and when I got them they were dead and unusable. Burgess does not refund your money, they only give you a merchant certificate for a future purchase. I will never buy from them again and maybe they should find a faster way of shipping live plants.

I received my order, it looked like it was thrown in a box, no packing to keep them safe! The plants were crammed in a bag and stapled shut! Usually, the plants I got were about 10 inches, scrawny, but they grew, and the people answer the phones are now from over seas. I won't do business with them again, I ask for my money back, now I'm having to wait for 48 to 72 hours, while they review my request!

I placed an order on 2/15/22 (46 days ago) and still haven't received it. Every time I check the status, the shipping date is pushed farther back. It's currently 4/18-4/23, more than two months after they charged my credit card. I've chatted with their support several times and each time they promised to expedite the shipping but still nothing.

My 400 and some odd dollar arrived yesterday. I was extremely pleased with all of the plants and trees we ordered. A Huge Thank You to Burgess! I love everything. Its all potted and ready to mature enough so the deer wont eat it. We purchased some new tree soil thats out there so grow grow grow my little babies! Great prices, lots of freebies. Love it! Todays date is May 1st, 2021.

Ordered about 100 bucks worth of stuff. All brown dry dead plants sealed in plastic bags after about 2 months waiting. Molly at customer serves tells me they arrive in a "dormant state" and only need 6 weeks to rise from the dead. Hysterical.

No customer service at all and no company response to inquiry on website. Customer service email returned "undeliverable". Phone line always busy. Broken plastic package contained a DEAD plant, not dormant. I've gardened for nearly 70 years so I know the difference. Paid for 4 of one plant type, got 3. (I have photos to prove my complaint but can't get this old computer to cooperate in saving to correct file type.)

8 MONTHS! From placing my order to my most recent shipment. Not one seed package was current, not one plant was received live, roots were molded, shipped the incorrect version of the items - can't speak with them on the phone, they don't answer email, and every email claims to ship items based on your climate zone - 8 MONTHS. I'm now looking for a list of all names and associates for this company - there are many and all just as awful.

The "live" plants had to be thrown away. I planted the seeds but nothing has germinated yet.
I purchased an established peach tree which arrived as a 10" stick with roots. The goji berry vine died. The butterfly bush was also supposed to established. It was 3" tall! Customer service does not exist. Emailed the company and tried calling.
Don't waste you money on sub-par plants. I wish I had check reviews before wasting almost $100! The image attached is of the established peach tree after I planted it in soil and tried to get it to grow for the past 3 weeks!

We ordered from Burgess over a year ago. When the plants finally arrived, many were dead and all but one of the rest died within a month or two. They sent us replacements, all of which died. Now they have stopped responding to my emails. They have not followed through with their guarantee. We have no replacements or refunds on their poor quality plants.

Don't order from Burgess. The plants in the catalog look amazing, but what they actually send is very small, weak and often dead.

Plants arrived very late, after planting season was over. Most of them looked barely alive and did not make it. Some had mold. I did talk to the customer service and received a company credit only, which is not ideal because after my bad experience with the quality I would not want to order from them again.
I placed an order with eBurgess over 7 weeks ago. I received a packet of bean seeds. They told me I received carrot seeds as well but they were not in the package and apparently they will not replace them because I threw away the mailing envelope. I am still waiting on the fruit trees, strawberry plants, and the "free gifts". I wish I had read these reviews first. I will never purchase anything from this company again.

Placed an order over a month ago. Based on their information the items were ready to ship and would be shipped in 5 days. Every week I check on the shipment and every week the dates get pushed back another week or two. Customer service is none existent. They just take your money and ignore you.

Ordered in early May, deluvery supposed to be in late May. Called mid-June, CS said supposed to be that week. Here we are end of June. Without any communication, 1 plant was refunded, the other should be delivered in July! Theses are spring blooming plants, so I have empty beds. I CANCELED THE WHOLE THING. I will never use them again. Ever!
I spent almost $300, got 1 plant, no call return, no email... nothing, no customer service. Do not order from them seems like a fraudulent business.

Can't leave a negative review. They are thieves nothing less. I ordered over $300 stuff and they failed to send allbut the seeds. Asked for a refund and they sent a gift check for them selves once more only reciving seeds. Ordered $125 of trees never recived, sent me yet another gift check but for a whole $23.72. Customer service isnt even in the counrt- they have no clue what they are doing; but more then happy to stealyour money.

Burgess is not a legitimate plant/seed company. Placed order, Burgess charged credit card immediately and claimed plants would should ship according to plant schedules, which do not appear to align with any other planting schedules. Order was never shipped or received. 17 calls and never once did Burgess answer their phones. 5 emails to follow up, they only response was from an Off-shore person claiming that Burgess would process order or cancel. Neither has happened, NEVER ORDER FROM BURGESS
