I had a previous review on this site which I rated at "Cool", but that's mainly for the prices and shipping etc. This is on their customer service which I think could be much much better especially with how big they are.
I wanted to purchase something that had "Free Shipping" but when I was checking out I saw I was being charged for shipping. I contacted them 3 times and they finally called me and asked me about the issue. I told them and they agreed with me that I should be receiving Free Shipping but they don't know how to get around it. They will have a "specialist" take a look and get back to me in 24-48 hours and told me do not purchase the item until I get a call back from them. Well their 48 hours was up last week on Thursday and still nothing from them.

Great site, products and prices. Crappy customer service.

My husband used to use this site many years ago. He liked it then and got good buys. When I needed a new laptop, he decided to buy it from buy.com. He bought a very well rated Toshiba, which cost $1300. It was not clear when he bought it that he was not buying it from buy.com, but a third party. When the lap top had not arrived a week after it was supposed to, he called buy.com, who then explained that he bought it from a third party, and they could not help at all. He contacted the third party, explained he was unhappy with this bait and switch and wanted to cancel his order. They refused as they claimed the computer had already been delivered. Another week went by while he tried to fix the problem, but then out of the blue, the computer showed up.
We decided to keep the computer since everything seemed ok. We used the computer for a total of 6 hours and now it won't work at all. It takes 20 minutes to boot, and the mouse won't work. We called Toshiba, the manufacturer of the device, because it's brand new, and they told us it's not a US computer, therefore they can't support it nor give us any tech support. Buy.com and the third party seller won't return our calls. There was nothing!$&%# anywhere that said this brand new computer was from outside of the US so wouldn't be supported by tech support. I definitely feel robbed.

I will never buy anything from this site again, nor would I suggest any of my friends do so.

Something has changed with buy.com. 5 years ago it was the best...now...when I look at a product...it is sourced from a different place every other day. One day buy.com fulfills it, next day adorama. There was a coupon offered...good until June 15th. Its June 12 and the coupon is gone. Something is fishy.

buy.com is one of my favorites. Have been buying from them for about three years. There prices are usually very competitive, web site is easy to use, but their customer service stinks. When you place your order make sure your shipping address is correct. Have received all orders in good condition and exactly what I ordered.

Still loving buy.com right now. They have a pretty good selection and I'm never disappointed in what they do. I've talked to their customer service about returning some items and they never had a problem with me. Hopefully everyone had a good run with them or they can assist you on fixing your conflicts. Recommend!

this company suchks....was looking for a new game and found that buy.com had it in stock supposedly when eveyone else had it sold out...ordered it waited a week and no game...sent them an email that said please ship game or take off the fact that its in stock on your website...the return email was "your order has been cancelled". this was a couple of years ago...so far they've missed out on at least 5K in sales since I will never do business with them again and advise others the same....

I ordered a product from Buy.com. It was subcontracted to another web company, sfplanet.com. The product was sent to the wrong address. When I discovered what happened and notified both companies, nothing has been done about it.

Used this site quite ofthen. Normally sells products cheaper then other sites. Most items are shipped by 2nd party vender and always got what I ordered within a week. Nice alternative to Amazon which I use as well when I can't find it on here.

The first time I ordered from buy.com, everything was cool. I placed my order, sent them a check, they sent me my stuff, and all was well. The second time I ordered, I placed my order, sent my check, waited for weeks...only to receive an email stating my order had been cancelled. No reason was given for this. I received my bank statement...the check I sent cleared the bank. They kept my money but sent me nothing. I had to call for my refund. I never did find out why my order was cancelled. I have never ordered from them again and will stick to Amazon.

Often cheap, but at a price. They are not forth coming about many details such as obsolete products. If you do get a dud. You will encounter a lot of resistance from them in making it right. Be prepared to spend on shipping costs, long waits for repairs by a third company and often unsatisfactory results. Be VERY cautious when offered free shipping. They sometimes accepted my order without giving me a chance to opt for the free shipping, then charged me what I thought was inflated shipping costs. Not a company that you should trust. They do not freely make a phone no for you to call if you need to. That should tell you something!!

I was pleased...got a great deal on a hard to find item, it shipped that day and was here two days later...bought more today....did have a shipping charge appear when it shouldn't but was so happy with my deal, I just went with it anyway...

I order all the time from buy.com. Never had any problems with their products. I have ordered only elecrtonics. Ranging from laptops to mp3 players. I never had a problem and very fast shipping.

False advertising: On two different other sites I saw a link to a 55" Samsung LED TV for $999 at buy.com. Buy.com makes you give them your credit card info at checkout to see the actual price. Then I found that the price was over $2000. What a waste of time.

this site, although ships as stated,, had popups (never clicked) which will start charging on my credit card monthly, useually 9.95 a month or 12.95 a month for some useless service never authorise or approved. amex will block the site if you catch it. watch your bills. The bogus companies usually out of CA will say you autherized the service and all they can do in to stop futher charges. ( I always canceel popups if they are not blocked by my broozer)

Buy.com is horrible with cancellations!!
I ordered a bag on Sunday night. Realizing it was the wrong one, I called in the next morning thinking it would be easy to cancel because it said it would ship in 3-5 business days. I had to put in my number and they called me. They told me they were not able to cancel and basically I had to send it back when it came... and it was supposed to ship on Wed! Then the link to have them call me disappeared so I couldn't talk to anyone else. So I had to pay shipping again to send it back and I'm out about $15 on this stupid bag I didn't want!!!

They have a lot of stuff, but service is horrible. I'll never shop there again.

Daily Deals, can be steals, watch what you are bidding on they do stand up for honoring what they sell, contacting them is a deal and a half, so go through the Main Place and Get Buyer Protection.

My experience with buy.com is very good, I purchased a new router for my computer for almost half price and it was delivered within a week. The service is very good but the price is why I bought it, just shop around, sometimes you can find a better deal in a local store.

They have good stuff but customer service is non existent. I wrote 5 emails about a mis shipped item and got a reply almost 1 1/2 weeks later. Wtf?

I order a certified refurbished IBM T43 laptop. The laptop arrived and the battery wouldn't charge beyond 23% and the wireless card wouldn't connect unless I was sitting right next to my router. Really...if I was 10+ feet away it wouldn't connect. I guess by "certified" they meant certified worthless. I returned the laptop for replacement and it took them forever to send me a replacement. I received canned email after canned email every time I requested status of my replacement. They finally sent me a replacement after filing a complaint with the BBB and threatening to report the transaction to my bank as fraud. buy.com will never see another dime of mine.
Another something interesting, I posted a review of the laptop on their site explaining the issue I had with the battery and network card. It was there for a few hours and then they removed it. Let me be clear, there was no profanity, no vulgarity, nothing offensive in the review. I merely explained that the battery wouldn't charge and the network card wouldn't connect. So you can't trust the product reviews because apparently they remove them unless you're raving about the product.

They were uninterested in my report of non-delivery and resolving the missing shipment in a timely fashion. I have received the same form letter from multiple Buy.com CSRs. In the end I was forced to file a claim through PayPal and at this time it is not clear if I will receive a refund despite non-delivery of the product. My correspondence has remained polite and respectful, despite receiving the same form letter multiple times. My advice is avoid this etailer as their low pricing is made possible by unresponsive sales support and non-delivery of orders. On average I make 100 online purchases in a year, I have received better and more engaged support and order resolution from every other online store I have purchased from. Stay away
