Allows you to join. Then blocks access to messages for days trying to force you to pay for a membership. ALOT of glitches. They are not helpful and they are typically out to get your money. Once you do pay, payments will continue to accrue month after month. There's way too many dating sites out there. This one should be avoided like a plague.

For no reason whatsoever, my profile just disappeared, and I cannot login I've tried to reach out to support and no response also the format is very dated 1990s.

Every single night between 8p-10p EST the ability to send messages to other members fails to work.
Me and multiple friends on the site have tested and proven it - we report it - sometimes it gets fixed for a day but 98+% of the time the chat function doesn't work after 8pm - which is when a majority of working people want to use the site - totally dsyfunctional and complaints are totally ignored.

Being in 2 partnerships with white men 17yrs and 6 yrs. I am convinced that Bear 411 is a site for white men connecting as fair weathered friends, their connections and marriages. Furthermore; a site for minorities or diversity "no," I guess they are afraid the black will rub off, then we talk about the GOP, last I wouldn't refer to the smell of paper mail on Bear as stuck up, you have to have the qualifications. However, men with their bolts not tight is how to define it.

I joined recently. Paid $9.99. Impossible to keep track of messages and many messages do not appear in message history. Sometimes takes over a day for incoming messages to be posted! JUNK! CRAPPY SITE! ANd no way to communicate with customer service! HORRIBLE SITE. AVOID!

Bear 411 is the worst dating site I ever seen, I was a paying member for 3 month, communicating with other members was not user friendly at all so I stopped paying but even though it says joining is free, all is free is using your pictures and profile to show they have lots of members, no way to delete my profile.
It's more like scam, I hate the site.
Stay away from it.

Refuses to accept requests to delete profiles. Blocks you from making changes (at all) unless you're a paid member - which I've been many times over the years.
Currently ignoring requests to delete entirely.
Serious mental problems at the helm of this site.

When I found I could not delete my credit card information I asked to have my account deleted. Later that day I could no longer log in. However my friends tell me that it still shows me as logged on, and it has been for months now. There aren't any replies to messages sent. I've heard rumors about the webmaster leaving up profiles, and I've fallen victim to it.

Like what others have said, when my priority access expired I was no longer able to access the site. Buddybear takes awful vengeance when you stop paying. I have friends who have NEVER paid and they get blocked once or twice a month. My priority access ended at the end of May and today is June 13 and I've not been able to get in for over a week.

This site is old and useless. Worst thing about this site is that you can't control your own profile as everything has to be "approved" first by a single moderator. Deleting my profile took months and months of attempts to contact the webmaster (Never even got a reply) and I finally resorted to changing my bio to trashing the webmaster I recommend this tactic. Also add some trigger words like BearWWW and Growlr.

Stay Away! There's far better options available out there.

The webmaster buddybear is a douche-bag and so are most of the stuck up bears on the website. I only made a few friends on bear411 but never found a lover like the website boasts it helps you do. Being on bear411 doesn't make being gay any easier I think it makes it worse and lowers self esteem because of all the unfriendly bears on the site that are stuck up. Hate it worst site ever. I deleted my profile never to return again.

I have been on B411 for several years. Some of that time as a paid 'priority access' member. I have had periodic problems with access & annoying 'messages' which are no more than solicitations for money. No matter what the problem, "Buddybear" is not responsive or accessible. I have given up and will never go to the site again, I don't need the frustration.

It had become a horrid site after a few years of being on. "Free" customers had more and more taken away as the WebMaster forbid more and more. And having to go 90 days of inactivity in order for them to delete your account? Heck with that. Go to their Terms of Service and see what will get you deleted / cancelled and pick one. Within a few short hours, You're gone! Why wait 90 days when you can be gone NOW!

This site is VERY unprofessionally run. The webmaster changes the rules of how things operate, on his whim.

Membership is a lot more expense than some of the other, similar services, but offers less. No app on iPhone or Android, and the very POOR see experience.

Now, boom, has decided to cut access to non-paying users.

No way to delete my profile, or even change the profile that is there.

Made a profile and got the email that said it was activated but I was never able to access the site nor did it show a profile for my screen name at all.
WORST was that there is no way to contact the administrator. Emails to *******@bear411.com all come back undeliverable.
I had a friend contact Greg the site administrator on his profile, but still no response.

I am a non paying member and frankly I am reading all these reviews good bad or otherwise. Yes he has made it more or less difficult to view profiles but as a non paying customer I simply go with the flow.

I do not care to see every man in my area anyway as I am a married man now and do not have for such nonsense because basically I have friends on there that I chat with and nothing more.

And you cannot see who viewed your profile the usual way as buddybear made it for paying customers however you can scroll down and look at who viewed your profile and see their information.

To me most of these negative posts are nothing more than sour grapes from other non paying who are whining about the loss of free.

And you can delete your profile simply by writing buddybear and most of the time he will delete it.

I belonged to it for years... got tired of all the fakes and liars... I've tried everything to get deleted... damn it!

I thought I would like this site have paid on and off for years. My debit card was compromised by someone and replace try getting Verotel to call your bank is like pulling teeth on a duck. Try to get buddybear to correct it is a joke. The same old faces logged in forever without an automatic reset is this sites biggest issue. These stuck up Queens are looking for men that are nonexistent.

Can't log in to bear411. I didn't change my nickname at all and it always says the it doens't exist.

I wanted to get off the site and sure enough my profile was deleted as I have requested. But then my card was charged not once but 3 times after that. I sent Greg an email demanding my money back. But nothing... This is illegal and very frustrating.

There is no way to delete your profile or deactivate it. This is incredulously fraudulent. You can email the webmaster until you are blue in the face and he does not respond. You get suckered into paying for basic access to the website features. It is pretty bad when the Better Business Bureau has been investigating myriads of complaints against this site. There are far better sites out there for you to find what you are looking for. Save yourself the headache and patronize other worthy sites.

I love the site and have made many friends over the approximate two years I signed up for it. I do recommend it to my friends because I have met some really great men and enjoy conversation with and sharing ideas and interests.

If he does not like what you say on his site, he will delete you. I was a paying member, but then I stopped. Then you start getting the upgrade notices. Then I complained about it to him. He deleted. Yes rip off the community, is correct, Mental problems FOR SURE.

I staryed a 411 account because a friend told me it was a good site. Started my account on a Thursday afternoon and by 5PM my account was blocked stating use was for priority members only... REALLY! It is now Saturday and i still have no access and you want me tk buy a subscription. Are you freaking serious? As soon as i am nack in i wi delete and go over to growlr or Grrr... ta hell with you yoh greesy bastard!
