S B. Someone probably misspelled their email address when they placed an order. Sure doesn't sound like any type of spam that I have ever seen. Also, Athleta is a GAP brand and would likely not send out spam in the first place. This definitely does not warrant a one-star rating. Do you know a Dane at your workplace? Maybe he/she is wondering where his/her order confirmation is.

Daniel L. Thanks for your comment S B. My coworker received the exact same email but under her name, Jacquie. As for the 1 star, I'll change it if or when the problem is resolved.

S B. Wow, the plot thickens. This is quite interesting. Let us know what you come up with, I'm very curious. Either way, I'm sure if it is spam, it is not Athleta who is behind it, sending out fake order confirmation emails.

Daniel L. I definitely will post. I guess I should say I have nothing against GAP brands, but I had no other way of expressing my frustration with the email that came with the Athleta name. I guess this was my way of warning others of anything that came from them.

S B. No problem. I guess using the Q&A for Athleta may be better than posting a review since you don't have to give a rating. Good job in bringing it to our attention though - it sure looks like an Athleta email to me, although it can be a very clever spam.

I have a lot against GAP brands (my wife spends WAY to much money on them. Thankfully she hasn't found Athleta yet!)

Daniel L. S B was right, giving Athleta 1 star was unfair. So despite the email that came out, I jumped on their website and thought it was great! My main goal was to warn others of a possible virus or just spam that came out in their name.

Bill K. I received the same email on the same day. I called customer service and they said they weren't sure what exactly happened but they are looking into it and to not worry about the order. Someone must have attacked the site - I have not received any further emails explaining the issue.

Bill K. I sent an email and they responded by saying they apologize for the inconvenience but the emails are not coming from them and they are trying to address the issue.

Alex B. Also received this email just now - from no-reply@athleta.com. Knew it was fishy after a second as sizes all wrong, no last four digits of card, address, etc, but for a second was a bit taken aback as had the right name for my email address and so on.
